| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [56:61] | AAala an nubaddila amthalakumwanunshi-akum fee ma la taAAlamoona |  على أن نبدل أمثالكم وننشئكم في ما لا تعلمونعَلَى أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اس بات سے (بھی عاجز نہیں ہیں) کہ تمہارے جیسے اوروں کو بدل (کر بنا) دیں اور تمہیں ایسی صورت میں پیدا کر دیں جسے تم جانتے بھی نہ ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not.

| 2. [56:62] | Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnash-ata al-oolafalawla tathakkaroona | ولقد علمتم النشأة الأولى فلولا تذكرون وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَى فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک تم نے پہلے پیدائش (کی حقیقت) معلوم کر لی پھر تم نصیحت قبول کیوں نہیں کرتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?

| 3. [56:63] | Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona | أفرأيتم ما تحرثون أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بھلا یہ بتاؤ جو (بیج) تم کاشت کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground?

| Words | |أفرأيتم - And do you see| ما - what| تحرثون - you sow?| | ||||||
| 4. [56:66] | Inna lamughramoona | إنا لمغرمون إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اور کہنے لگو): ہم پر تاوان پڑ گیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing):

| 5. [56:67] | Bal nahnu mahroomoona | بل نحن محرومون بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"

| Tahir ul Qadri | بھلا یہ بتاؤ جو پانی تم پیتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | See ye the water which ye drink?

| Words | |أفرأيتم - Do you see| الماء - the water,| الذي - which| تشربون - you drink?| | ||||||
| 7. [56:64] | Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona | أأنتم تزرعونه أم نحن الزارعون أَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو کیا اُس (سے کھیتی) کو تم اُگاتے ہو یا ہم اُگانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause?

| Words | |أأنتم - Is it you (who)| تزرعونه - cause it to grow| أم - or| نحن - (are) We| الزارعون - the Ones Who grow?| | ||||||
| 8. [56:65] | Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutamanfathaltum tafakkahoona | لو نشاء لجعلناه حطاما فظلتم تفكهون لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے ریزہ ریزہ کر دیں پھر تم تعجب اور ندامت ہی کرتے رہ جاؤ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment,

| Words | |لو - If| نشاء - We willed| لجعلناه - We (would) surely, make it| حطاما - debris,| فظلتم - then you would remain| تفكهون - wondering,| | ||||||
| 9. [56:69] | Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnualmunziloona | أأنتم أنزلتموه من المزن أم نحن المنزلون أَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا اسے تم نے بادل سے اتارا ہے یا ہم اتارنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We?
| ||||||
| Words | |أأنتم - Is it you| أنزلتموه - who send it down| من - from| المزن - the rain clouds,| أم - or| نحن - We| المنزلون - (are) the Ones to send?| | ||||||
| 10. [56:70] | Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajanfalawla tashkuroona | لو نشاء جعلناه أجاجا فلولا تشكرون لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اگر ہم چاہیں تو اسے کھاری بنا دیں، پھر تم شکر ادا کیوں نہیں کرتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks?

| Words | |لو - If| نشاء - We willed,| جعلناه - We (could) make it| أجاجا - salty,| فلولا - then why are you not grateful?| تشكرون - then why are you not grateful?| | ||||||
| 11. [56:71] | Afaraaytumu alnnara allateetooroona | أفرأيتم النار التي تورون أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بھلا یہ بتاؤ جو آگ تم سُلگاتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | See ye the Fire which ye kindle?
| ||||||
| Words | |أفرأيتم - Do you see| النار - the Fire,| التي - which| تورون - you ignite?| | ||||||
| 12. [56:74] | Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi | فسبح باسم ربك العظيم فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو اپنے ربِّ عظیم کے نام کی تسبیح کیا کریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme!

| Words | |فسبح - So glorify| باسم - (the) name| ربك - (of) your Lord,| العظيم - the Most Great.| | ||||||
| 13. [56:75] | Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi | فلا أقسم بمواقع النجوم فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس میں اُن جگہوں کی قَسم کھاتا ہوں جہاں جہاں قرآن کے مختلف حصے (رسولِ عربی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر) اترتے ہیں٭ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,-

| Words | |فلا - But nay,| أقسم - I swear| بمواقع - by setting| النجوم - (of) the stars,| | ||||||
| 14. [56:77] | Innahu laqur-anun kareemun | إنه لقرآن كريم إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک یہ بڑی عظمت والا قرآن ہے (جو بڑی عظمت والے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر اتر رہا ہے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable,
| ||||||
| Words | |إنه - Indeed, it| لقرآن - (is) surely, a Quran| كريم - noble,| | ||||||
| 15. [56:72] | Aantum ansha/tum shajarataha am nahnualmunshi-oona | أأنتم أنشأتم شجرتها أم نحن المنشئون أَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنشِؤُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا اِس کے درخت کو تم نے پیدا کیا ہے یا ہم (اسے) پیدا فرمانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it?
| ||||||
| Words | |أأنتم - Is it you| أنشأتم - who produced| شجرتها - its tree| أم - or| نحن - We| المنشئون - (are) the Producers?| | ||||||
| 16. [56:73] | Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratanwamataAAan lilmuqweena | نحن جعلناها تذكرة ومتاعا للمقوين نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ہم ہی نے اِس (درخت کی آگ) کو (آتشِ جہنّم کی) یاد دلانے والی (نصیحت و عبرت) اور جنگلوں کے مسافروں کے لئے باعثِ منفعت بنایا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts.

| Words | |نحن - We| جعلناها - have made it| تذكرة - a reminder| ومتاعا - and a provision| للمقوين - for the wayfarers in the desert.| | ||||||
| 17. [56:76] | Wa-innahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun | وإنه لقسم لو تعلمون عظيم وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر تم سمجھو تو بیشک یہ بہت بڑی قَسم ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,-
| ||||||
| Words | |وإنه - And indeed, it| لقسم - (is) surely an oath,| لو - if| تعلمون - you know -| عظيم - great,| | ||||||
| 18. [56:78] | Fee kitabin maknoonin | في كتاب مكنون فِي كِتَابٍ مَّكْنُونٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اس سے پہلے یہ) لوحِ محفوظ میں (لکھا ہوا) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In Book well-guarded,
| ||||||
| Words | |في - In| كتاب - a Book| مكنون - well-guarded,| | ||||||
| 19. [56:79] | La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona | لا يمسه إلا المطهرون لَّا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس کو پاک (طہارت والے) لوگوں کے سوا کوئی نہیں چُھوئے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Which none shall touch but those who are clean:
| ||||||
| Words | |لا - None| يمسه - touch it| إلا - except| المطهرون - the purified.| | ||||||
| 20. [56:80] | Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena | تنزيل من رب العالمين تَنْزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تمام جہانوں کے ربّ کی طرف سے اتارا گیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
| ||||||
| Words | |تنزيل - A Revelation| من - from| رب - (the) Lord| العالمين - (of) the worlds.| | ||||||
| 21. [56:81] | Afabihatha alhadeethi antummudhinoona | أفبهذا الحديث أنتم مدهنون أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو کیا تم اسی کلام کی تحقیر کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem?
| ||||||
| Words | |أفبهذا - Then is it to this| الحديث - statement| أنتم - that you| مدهنون - (are) indifferent?| | ||||||
| 22. [56:82] | WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona | وتجعلون رزقكم أنكم تكذبون وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم نے اپنا رِزق (اور نصیب) اسی بات کو بنا رکھا ہے کہ تم (اسے) جھٹلاتے رہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false?
| ||||||
| Words | |وتجعلون - And you make| رزقكم - your provision| أنكم - that you| تكذبون - deny.| | ||||||
| 23. [56:83] | Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma | فلولا إذا بلغت الحلقوم فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر کیوں نہیں (روح کو واپس لوٹا لیتے) جب وہ (پرواز کرنے کے لئے) حلق تک آپہنچتی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,-
| ||||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why not| إذا - when| بلغت - it reaches| الحلقوم - the throat,| | ||||||
| 24. [56:84] | Waantum heena-ithin tanthuroona | وأنتم حينئذ تنظرون وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم اس وقت دیکھتے ہی رہ جاتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And ye the while (sit) looking on,-
| ||||||
| Words | |وأنتم - And you| حينئذ - (at) that time| تنظرون - look on,| | ||||||
| 25. [56:85] | Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakinla tubsiroona | ونحن أقرب إليه منكم ولكن لا تبصرون وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم اس (مرنے والے) سے تمہاری نسبت زیادہ قریب ہوتے ہیں لیکن تم (ہمیں) دیکھتے نہیں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,-
| ||||||
| Words | |ونحن - And We| أقرب - (are) nearer| إليه - to him| منكم - than you| ولكن - but| لا - you (do) not see,| تبصرون - you (do) not see,| | ||||||
| 26. [56:86] | Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena | فلولا إن كنتم غير مدينين فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر کیوں نہیں (ایسا کر سکتے) اگر تم کسی کی مِلک و اختیار میں نہیں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,-
| ||||||
| Words | |فلولا - Then why not,| إن - if| كنتم - you are| غير - not| مدينين - to be recompensed,| | ||||||
| 27. [56:87] | TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena | ترجعونها إن كنتم صادقين تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کہ اس (رُوح) کو واپس پھیر لو اگر تم سچّے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)?
| ||||||
| Words | |ترجعونها - Bring it back,| إن - if| كنتم - you are| صادقين - truthful.| | ||||||
| 28. [56:88] | Faamma in kana minaalmuqarrabeena | فأما إن كان من المقربين فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اگر وہ (وفات پانے والا) مقرّبین میں سے تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah,
| ||||||
| Words | |فأما - Then| إن - if| كان - he was| من - of| المقربين - those brought near,| | ||||||
| 29. [56:89] | Farawhun warayhanun wajannatunaAAeemin | فروح وريحان وجنت نعيم فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّةُ نَعِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو (اس کے لئے) سرور و فرحت اور روحانی رزق و استراحت اور نعمتوں بھری جنت ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.
| ||||||
| Words | |فروح - Then rest| وريحان - and bounty| وجنت - and a Garden| نعيم - (of) Pleasure.| | ||||||
| 30. [56:93] | Fanuzulun min hameemin | فنزل من حميم فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو (اس کی) سخت کھولتے ہوئے پانی سے ضیافت ہوگی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water.
