[13:4] | Wafee al-ardi qitaAAun mutajawiratunwajannatun min aAAnabin wazarAAun wanakheelun sinwanunwaghayru sinwanin yusqa bima-in wahidinwanufaddilu baAAdaha AAala baAAdinfee alokuli inna fee thalika laayatinliqawmin yaAAqiloona | وفي الأرض قطع متجاورات وجنات من أعناب وزرع ونخيل صنوان وغير صنوان يسقى بماء واحد ونفضل بعضها على بعض في الأكل إن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يعقلون وَفِي الْأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُّتَجَاوِرَاتٌ وَجَنَّاتٌ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِيلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ يُسْقَى بِمَاءِ وَاحِدٍ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الْأُكُلِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور زمین میں (مختلف قسم کے) قطعات ہیں جو ایک دوسرے کے قریب ہیں اور انگوروں کے باغات ہیں اور کھیتیاں ہیں اور کھجور کے درخت ہیں، جھنڈدار اور بغیر جھنڈ کے، ان (سب) کو ایک ہی پانی سے سیراب کیا جاتا ہے، اور (اس کے باوجود) ہم ذائقہ میں بعض کو بعض پر فضیلت بخشتے ہیں، بیشک اس میں عقل مندوں کے لئے (بڑی) نشانیاں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighbouring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand!

[24:40] | Aw kathulumatin fee bahrinlujjiyyin yaghshahu mawjun min fawqihi mawjun min fawqihisahabun thulumatun baAAduhafawqa baAAdin itha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yarahawaman lam yajAAali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu minnoorin | أو كظلمات في بحر لجي يغشاه موج من فوقه موج من فوقه سحاب ظلمات بعضها فوق بعض إذا أخرج يده لم يكد يراها ومن لم يجعل الله له نورا فما له من نور أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُّجِّيٍّ يَغْشَاهُ مَوْجٌ مِّن فَوْقِهِ مَوْجٌ مِّن فَوْقِهِ سَحَابٌ ظُلُمَاتٌ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَا أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَاهَا وَمَن لَّمْ يَجْعَلِ اللَّهُ لَهُ نُورًا فَمَا لَهُ مِن نُّورٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یا (کافروں کے اعمال) اس گہرے سمندر کی تاریکیوں کی مانند ہیں جسے موج نے ڈھانپا ہوا ہو (پھر) اس کے اوپر ایک اور موج ہو (اور) اس کے اوپر بادل ہوں (یہ تہ در تہ) تاریکیاں ایک دوسرے کے اوپر ہیں، جب (ایسے سمندر میں ڈوبنے والا کوئی شخص) اپنا ہاتھ باہر نکالے تو اسے (کوئی بھی) دیکھ نہ سکے، اور جس کے لئے اللہ ہی نے نورِ (ہدایت) نہیں بنایا تو اس کے لئے (کہیں بھی) نور نہیں ہوتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!
