| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [43:8] | Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshanwamada mathalu al-awwaleena |  فأهلكنا أشد منهم بطشا ومضى مثل الأولينفَأَهْلَكْنَا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَى مَثَلُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے اُن (کفار و مشرکینِ مکہّ) سے پہلے کتنی ہی اُمتوں کو ہلاک کر دیا جو طاقت و قوّت میں ان سے کہیں بڑھ کر تھیں، چنانچہ انہوں نے (دنیا کے) شہروں کو چھان مارا تھا کہ کہیں (موت یا عذاب سے) بھاگ جانے کی کوئی جگہ ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)?
