Wanada as-habual-aAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahumqaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wamakuntum tastakbiroona ونادى أصحاب الأعراف رجالا يعرفونهم بسيماهم قالوا ما أغنى عنكم جمعكم وما كنتم تستكبرون
وَنَادَى أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالاً يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُواْ مَا أَغْنَى عَنكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

  اور اہلِ اعراف (ان دوزخی) مردوں کو پکاریں گے جنہیں وہ ان کی نشانیوں سے پہچان رہے ہوں گے (ان سے) کہیں گے: تمہاری جماعتیں تمہارے کام نہ آسکیں اور نہ (وہ) تکبّر (تمہیں بچا سکا) جو تم کیا کرتے تھے

Yousuf AliThe men on the heights will call to certain men whom they will know from their marks, saying: "Of what profit to you were your hoards and your arrogant ways?

Ahmed Aliاور اعراف والے پکاریں گے جنہیں وہ ان کی نشانی سے پہچانتے ہوں گے کہیں گے تمہاری جماعت تمہارے کسی کام نہ آئی اور نہ وہ جو تم تکبر کیا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khanاور اعراف والے کچھ مردوں کو پکاریں گے جنہیں ان کی پیشانی سے پہچانتے ہیں کہیں گے تمہیں کیا کام آیا تمہارا جتھا اور وہ جو تم غرور کرتے تھے
Shabbir Ahmed اور پکاریں گے یہ اہلِ اعراف کچھ بڑے لوگوں کو جنہیں وہ پہچانتے ہوں گے ان کی علامتوں سے اور کہیں گے نہ کام آئے تمہارے (آج) تمہارے جتھے اور وہ ساز و سامان جنکو تم بڑی چیز سمجھتے تھے۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور اہل اعراف (کافر) لوگوں کو جنہیں ان کی صورتوں سے شناخت کرتے ہوں گے پکاریں گے اور کہیں گے (کہ آج) نہ تو تمہاری جماعت ہی تمہارے کچھ کام آئی اور نہ تمہارا تکبّر (ہی سودمند ہوا)
Mehmood Al Hassanاور پکاریں گے اعراف والے ان لوگوں کو کہ انکو پہچانتے ہیں انکی نشانی سے کہیں گے نہ کام آئی تمہارے جماعت تمہاری اور جو تم تکبر کیا کرتے تھے
Abul Ala Maududiپھر یہ اعراف کے لوگ دوزخ کی چند بڑی بڑی شخصیتوں کو ان کی علامتوں سے پہچان کر پکاریں گے کہ "دیکھ لیا تم نے، آج نہ تمہارے جتھے تمہارے کسی کام آئے اور نہ وہ ساز و سامان جن کو تم بڑی چیز سمجھتے تھے

LiteralAnd company/friends (of) the fence between Heaven and Hell/the highest tip of anything called/cried (to) men (that) they know them by their marks/identifications/expressions. They said: "Your gatherings/collecting/group and what you were being arrogant did not enrich/satisfy from you."
Yusuf AliThe men on the heights will call to certain men whom they will know from their marks, saying: "Of what profit to you were your hoards and your arrogant ways?
PickthalAnd the dwellers on the Heights call unto men whom they know by their marks, (saying): What did your multitude and that in which ye took your pride avail you?
Arberry And the dwellers on the Battlements shall call to certain men they know by their sign: 'Your amassing has not availed you, neither your waxing proud.
ShakirAnd the dwellers of the most elevated places shall ca!l out to men whom they will recognize by their marks saying: Of no avail were to you your amassings and your behaving haughtily:
SarwarThe people of the Heights will say to those (in hell) whose faces they recognize, "Why did your supporters and your pride not help you?".
H/K/SaheehAnd the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering and [the fact] that you were arrogant."
MalikThe people of the A'raf (heights) will call to certain men (famous personalities from among the inmates of Hell) whom they will recognize by their features and say: "Have you found out that neither your riches nor your arrogant pride have availed you?[48]
Maulana Ali**And the owners of the Elevated Places call out to men whom they recognize by their marks, saying: Of no avail were to you your amassings and your arrogance.
Free MindsAnd the people standing on the elevated platform called on men they recognized by their features, they said: "What good did your large number do for you, or what you were arrogant for?"
Qaribullah And the companions of the ramparts call to men whose marks they recognize: 'Neither your amassing nor your pride have availed you.
George SaleAnd those who stand on Al Araf shall call unto certain men, whom they shall know by their marks, and shall say, what hath your gathering of riches availed you, and that ye were puffed up with pride?

Khalifa**The dwellers of the Purgatory will call on people they recognize by their looks, saying, "Your great numbers did not avail you in any way, nor did your arrogance.
Hilali/Khan**And the men on AlAraf (the wall) will call unto the men whom they would recognise by their marks, saying: "Of what benefit to you were your great numbers (and hoards of wealth), and your arrogance against Faith?"
QXP Shabbir Ahemd**The people on the Heights will recognize another group and say to them, "How did your multitude, the wealth you amassed and the things you took pride in, help you?"
