| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[31:6] | Wamina alnnasi man yashtareelahwa alhadeethi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahibighayri AAilmin wayattakhithaha huzuwan ola-ikalahum AAathabun muheenun |  ومن الناس من يشتري لهو الحديث ليضل عن سبيل الله بغير علم ويتخذها هزوا أولئك لهم عذاب مهينوَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور لوگوں میں سے کچھ ایسے بھی ہیں جو بیہودہ کلام خریدتے ہیں تاکہ بغیر سوجھ بوجھ کے لوگوں کو اﷲ کی راہ سے بھٹکا دیں اور اس (راہ) کا مذاق اڑائیں، ان ہی لوگوں کے لئے رسوا کن عذاب ہے | ||||||

Contrary to what some of the commentators assume, the above statement does not refer to any one person (allegedly a contemporary of the Prophet) but describes a type of mentality and has, therefore, a general import.] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. | ||||||
| Khalifa** | Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution. | ||||||
| Hilali/Khan** | And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e.music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). | ||||||
