| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[13:14] | Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi waallatheenayadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishay-in illakabasiti kaffayhi ila alma-iliyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wamaduAAao alkafireena illa fee dalalin |  له دعوة الحق والذين يدعون من دونه لا يستجيبون لهم بشيء إلا كباسط كفيه إلى الماء ليبلغ فاه وما هو ببالغه وما دعاء الكافرين إلا في ضلاللَهُ دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِ لاَ يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَيْءٍ إِلاَّ كَبَاسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى الْمَاءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَالِغِهِ وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلاَّ فِي ضَلاَلٍ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اسی کے لئے حق (یعنی توحید) کی دعوت ہے، اور وہ (کافر) لوگ جو اس کے سوا (معبودانِ باطلہ یعنی بتوں) کی عبادت کرتے ہیں، وہ انہیں کسی چیز کا جواب بھی نہیں دے سکتے۔ ان کی مثال تو صرف اس شخص جیسی ہے جو اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیاں پانی کی طرف پھیلائے (بیٹھا) ہو کہ پانی (خود) اس کے منہ تک پہنچ جائے اور (یوں تو) وہ (پانی) اس تک پہنچنے والا نہیں، اور (اسی طرح) کافروں کا (بتوں کی عبادت اور ان سے) دعا کرنا گمراہی میں بھٹکنے کے سوا کچھ نہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth: any others that they call upon besides Him hear them no more than if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouths but it reaches them not: for the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the mind).
