| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [5:38] | Waalssariqu waalssariqatufaiqtaAAoo aydiyahuma jazaan bimakasaba nakalan mina Allahi waAllahuAAazeezun hakeemun |  والسارق والسارقة فاقطعوا أيديهما جزاء بما كسبا نكالا من الله والله عزيز حكيموَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُواْ أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَالاً مِّنَ اللّهِ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور چوری کرنے والا (مرد) اور چوری کرنے والی (عورت) سو دونوں کے ہاتھ کاٹ دو اس (جرم) کی پاداش میں جو انہوں نے کمایا ہے۔ (یہ) اﷲ کی طرف سے عبرت ناک سزا (ہے)، اور اﷲ بڑا غالب ہے بڑی حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to the thief, Male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in power.

[12:70] | Falamma jahhazahum bijahazihimjaAAala alssiqayata fee rahli akheehi thummaaththana mu-aththinun ayyatuha alAAeeruinnakum lasariqoona | فلما جهزهم بجهازهم جعل السقاية في رحل أخيه ثم أذن مؤذن أيتها العير إنكم لسارقون فَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ جَعَلَ السِّقَايَةَ فِي رَحْلِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسَارِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جب (یوسف علیہ السلام نے) ان کا سامان انہیں مہیا کر دیا تو (شاہی) پیالہ اپنے بھائی (بنیامین) کی بوری میں رکھ دیا بعد ازاں پکارنے والے نے آواز دی: اے قافلہ والو! (ٹھہرو) یقیناً تم لوگ ہی چور (معلوم ہوتے) ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | At length when he had furnished them forth with provisions (suitable) for them, he put the drinking cup into his brother's saddle-bag. Then shouted out a crier: "O ye (in) the caravan! behold! ye are thieves, without doubt!"

| 3. [12:73] | Qaloo taAllahi laqadAAalimtum ma ji/na linufsida fee al-ardi wamakunna sariqeena | قالوا تالله لقد علمتم ما جئنا لنفسد في الأرض وما كنا سارقين قَالُواْ تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا جِئْنَا لِنُفْسِدَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَارِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ کہنے لگے: اﷲ کی قسم! بیشک تم جان گئے ہو (گے) ہم اس لئے نہیں آئے تھے کہ (جرم کا ارتکاب کر کے) زمین میں فساد بپا کریں اور نہ ہی ہم چور ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (The brothers) said: "By Allah! well ye know that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are no thieves!"

[12:77] | Qaloo in yasriq faqad saraqa akhunlahu min qablu faasarraha yoosufu fee nafsihi walam yubdihalahum qala antum sharrun makanan waAllahuaAAlamu bima tasifoona | قالوا إن يسرق فقد سرق أخ له من قبل فأسرها يوسف في نفسه ولم يبدها لهم قال أنتم شر مكانا والله أعلم بما تصفون قَالُواْ إِن يَسْرِقْ فَقَدْ سَرَقَ أَخٌ لَّهُ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَسَرَّهَا يُوسُفُ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَلَمْ يُبْدِهَا لَهُمْ قَالَ أَنتُمْ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَاللّهُ أَعْلَمْ بِمَا تَصِفُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | انہوں نے کہا: اگر اس نے چوری کی ہے (تو کوئی تعجب نہیں) بیشک اس کا بھائی (یوسف) بھی اس سے پہلے چوری کر چکا ہے، سو یوسف (علیہ السلام) نے یہ بات اپنے دل میں (چھپائی) رکھی اور اسے ان پر ظاہر نہ کیا، (دل میں ہی) کہا: تمہارا حال نہایت برا ہے، اور اﷲ خوب جانتا ہے جو کچھ تم بیان کر رہے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They said: "If he steals, there was a brother of his who did steal before (him)." But these things did Joseph keep locked in his heart, revealing not the secrets to them. He (simply) said (to himself): "Ye are the worse situated; and Allah knoweth best the truth of what ye assert!"

[12:81] | IrjiAAoo ila abeekum faqooloo yaabana inna ibnaka saraqa wama shahidnailla bima AAalimna wama kunnalilghaybi hafitheena | ارجعوا إلى أبيكم فقولوا يا أبانا إن ابنك سرق وما شهدنا إلا بما علمنا وما كنا للغيب حافظين ارْجِعُواْ إِلَى أَبِيكُمْ فَقُولُواْ يَا أَبَانَا إِنَّ ابْنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدْنَا إِلاَّ بِمَا عَلِمْنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلْغَيْبِ حَافِظِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تم اپنے باپ کی طرف لوٹ جاؤ پھر (جا کر) کہو: اے ہمارے باپ! بیشک آپ کے بیٹے نے چوری کی ہے (اس لئے وہ گرفتار کر لیا گیا) اور ہم نے فقط اسی بات کی گواہی دی تھی جس کا ہمیں علم تھا اور ہم غیب کے نگہبان نہ تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Turn ye back to your father, and say, 'O our father! behold! thy son committed theft! we bear witness only to what we know, and we could not well guard against the unseen!

| 6. [15:18] | Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAafaatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun | إلا من استرق السمع فأتبعه شهاب مبين إِلاَّ مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | مگر جو کوئی بھی چوری چھپے سننے کے لئے آگھسا تو اس کے پیچھے ایک (جلتا) چمکتا شہاب ہو جاتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see).

[60:12] | Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu ithajaaka almu/minatu yubayiAAnaka AAalaan la yushrikna biAllahi shay-an walayasriqna wala yazneena wala yaqtulna awladahunnawala ya/teena bibuhtanin yaftareenahu baynaaydeehinna waarjulihinna wala yaAAseenaka feemaAAroofin fabayiAAhunna waistaghfir lahunna Allahainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun | يا أيها النبي إذا جاءك المؤمنات يبايعنك على أن لا يشركن بالله شيئا ولا يسرقن ولا يزنين ولا يقتلن أولادهن ولا يأتين ببهتان يفترينه بين أيديهن وأرجلهن ولا يعصينك في معروف فبايعهن واستغفر لهن الله إن الله غفور رحيم يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ عَلَى أَن لَّا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا يَزْنِينَ وَلَا يَقْتُلْنَ أَوْلَادَهُنَّ وَلَا يَأْتِينَ بِبُهْتَانٍ يَفْتَرِينَهُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِنَّ وَأَرْجُلِهِنَّ وَلَا يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ فَبَايِعْهُنَّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُنَّ اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے نبی! جب آپ کی خدمت میں مومن عورتیں اس بات پر بیعت کرنے کے لئے حاضر ہوں کہ وہ اللہ کے ساتھ کسی چیز کو شریک نہیں ٹھہرائیں گی اور چوری نہیں کریں گی اور بدکاری نہیں کریں گی اور اپنی اولاد کو قتل نہیں کریں گی اور اپنے ہاتھوں اور پاؤں کے درمیان سے کوئی جھوٹا بہتان گھڑ کر نہیں لائیں گی (یعنی اپنے شوہر کو دھوکہ دیتے ہوئے کسی غیر کے بچے کو اپنے پیٹ سے جنا ہوا نہیں بتائیں گی) اور (کسی بھی) امرِ شریعت میں آپ کی نافرمانی نہیں کریں گی، تو آپ اُن سے بیعت لے لیا کریں اور اُن کے لئے اللہ سے بخشش طلب فرمائیں، بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O Prophet! When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood, and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter,- then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
