| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [18:17] | Watara alshshamsa itha talaAAattazawaru AAan kahfihim thata alyameeni wa-ithagharabat taqriduhum thata alshshimaliwahum fee fajwatin minhu thalika min ayatiAllahi man yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadi waman yudlilfalan tajida lahu waliyyan murshidan |  وترى الشمس إذا طلعت تزاور عن كهفهم ذات اليمين وإذا غربت تقرضهم ذات الشمال وهم في فجوة منه ذلك من آيات الله من يهد الله فهو المهتد ومن يضلل فلن تجد له وليا مرشداوَتَرَى الشَّمْسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَاوَرُ عَن كَهْفِهِمْ ذَاتَ الْيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقْرِضُهُمْ ذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ وَهُمْ فِي فَجْوَةٍ مِّنْهُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ مَن يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِ وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُ وَلِيًّا مُّرْشِدًا | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ دیکھتے ہیں جب سورج طلوع ہوتا ہے تو ان کے غار سے دائیں جانب ہٹ جاتا ہے اور جب غروب ہونے لگتا ہے تو ان سے بائیں جانب کترا جاتا ہے اور وہ اس غار کے کشادہ میدان میں (لیٹے) ہیں، یہ (سورج کا اپنے راستے کو بدل لینا) اﷲ کی (قدرت کی بڑی) نشانیوں میں سے ہے، جسے اﷲ ہدایت فرما دے سو وہی ہدایت یافتہ ہے، اور جسے وہ گمراہ ٹھہرا دے تو آپ اس کے لئے کوئی ولی مرشد (یعنی راہ دکھانے والا مددگار) نہیں پائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thou wouldst have seen the sun, when it rose, declining to the right from their Cave, and when it set, turning away from them to the left, while they lay in the open space in the midst of the Cave. Such are among the Signs of Allah: He whom Allah, guides is rightly guided; but he whom Allah leaves to stray,- for him wilt thou find no protector to lead him to the Right Way.

[18:18] | Watahsabuhum ayqathanwahum ruqoodun wanuqallibuhum thata alyameeni wathataalshshimali wakalbuhum basitun thiraAAayhibialwaseedi lawi ittalaAAta AAalayhimlawallayta minhum firaran walamuli/ta minhum ruAAban | وتحسبهم أيقاظا وهم رقود ونقلبهم ذات اليمين وذات الشمال وكلبهم باسط ذراعيه بالوصيد لو اطلعت عليهم لوليت منهم فرارا ولملئت منهم رعبا وَتَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقَاظًا وَهُمْ رُقُودٌ وَنُقَلِّبُهُمْ ذَاتَ الْيَمِينِ وَذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ وَكَلْبُهُم بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ بِالْوَصِيدِ لَوِاطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِرَارًا وَلَمُلِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ رُعْبًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اے سننے والے!) تو انہیں (دیکھے تو) بیدار خیال کرے گا حالانکہ وہ سوئے ہوئے ہیں اور ہم (وقفوں کے ساتھ) انہیں دائیں جانب اور بائیں جانب کروٹیں بدلاتے رہتے ہیں، اور ان کا کتا (ان کی) چوکھٹ پر اپنے دونوں بازو پھیلائے (بیٹھا) ہے، اگر تو انہیں جھانک کر دیکھ لیتا تو ان سے پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگ جاتا اور تیرے دل میں ان کی دہشت بھر جاتی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thou wouldst have deemed them awake, whilst they were asleep, and We turned them on their right and on their left sides: their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold: if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them.
