| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [5:31] | FabaAAatha Allahu ghuraban yabhathufee al-ardi liyuriyahu kayfa yuwaree saw-ataakheehi qala ya waylata aAAajaztu an akoonamithla hatha alghurabi faowariya saw-ataakhee faasbaha mina alnnadimeena |  فبعث الله غرابا يبحث في الأرض ليريه كيف يواري سوءة أخيه قال يا ويلتا أعجزت أن أكون مثل هذا الغراب فأواري سوءة أخي فأصبح من النادمينفَبَعَثَ اللّهُ غُرَابًا يَبْحَثُ فِي الْأَرْضِ لِيُرِيَهُ كَيْفَ يُوَارِي سَوْءَةَ أَخِيهِ قَالَ يَا وَيْلَتَا أَعَجَزْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَـذَا الْغُرَابِ فَأُوَارِيَ سَوْءَةَ أَخِي فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ النَّادِمِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اﷲ نے ایک کوّا بھیجا جو زمین کریدنے لگا تاکہ اسے دکھائے کہ وہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش کس طرح چھپائے، (یہ دیکھ کر) اس نے کہا: ہائے افسوس! کیا میں اس کوّے کی مانند بھی نہ ہوسکا کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش چھپا دیتا، سو وہ پشیمان ہونے والوں میں سے ہوگیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then Allah sent a raven, who scratched the ground, to show him how to hide the shame of his brother. "Woe is me!" said he; "Was I not even able to be as this raven, and to hide the shame of my brother?" then he became full of regrets-

[12:90] | Qaloo a-innaka laanta yoosufa qalaana yoosufu wahatha akhee qad manna AllahuAAalayna innahu man yattaqi wayasbir fa-inna Allahala yudeeAAu ajra almuhsineena | قالوا أإنك لأنت يوسف قال أنا يوسف وهذا أخي قد من الله علينا إنه من يتق ويصبر فإن الله لا يضيع أجر المحسنين قَالُواْ أَإِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ يُوسُفُ قَالَ أَنَاْ يُوسُفُ وَهَـذَا أَخِي قَدْ مَنَّ اللّهُ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّهُ مَن يَتَّقِ وَيَصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ بولے: کیا واقعی تم ہی یوسف ہو؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: (ہاں) میں یوسف ہوں اور یہ میرا بھائی ہے بیشک اﷲ نے ہم پر احسان فرمایا ہے، یقیناً جو شخص اﷲ سے ڈرتا اور صبر کرتا ہے تو بیشک اﷲ نیکوکاروں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They said: "Art thou indeed Joseph?" He said, "I am Joseph, and this is my brother: Allah has indeed been gracious to us (all): behold, he that is righteous and patient,- never will Allah suffer the reward to be lost, of those who do right."

[38:23] | Inna hatha akhee lahu tisAAunwatisAAoona naAAjatan waliya naAAjatun wahidatun faqalaakfilneeha waAAazzanee fee alkhitabi | إن هذا أخي له تسع وتسعون نعجة ولي نعجة واحدة فقال أكفلنيها وعزني في الخطاب إِنَّ هَذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک یہ میرا بھائی ہے، اِس کی ننانوے دُنبیاں ہیں اور میرے پاس ایک ہی دُنبی ہے، پھر کہتا ہے یہ (بھی) میرے حوالہ کر دو اور گفتگو میں (بھی) مجھے دبا لیتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "This man is my brother: He has nine and ninety ewes, and I have (but) one: Yet he says, 'commit her to my care,' and is (moreover) harsh to me in speech."
