| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:20] | Yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahumkullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi wa-itha athlamaAAalayhim qamoo walaw shaa Allahu lathahababisamAAihim waabsarihim inna Allaha AAalakulli shay-in qadeerun |  يكاد البرق يخطف أبصارهم كلما أضاء لهم مشوا فيه وإذا أظلم عليهم قاموا ولو شاء الله لذهب بسمعهم وأبصارهم إن الله على كل شيء قديريَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُواْ وَلَوْ شَاء اللّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّه عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | یوں لگتا ہے کہ بجلی ان کی بینائی اُچک لے جائے گی، جب بھی ان کے لئے (ماحول میں) کچھ چمک ہوتی ہے تو اس میں چلنے لگتے ہیں اور جب ان پر اندھیرا چھا جاتا ہے تو کھڑے ہو جاتے ہیں، اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو ان کی سماعت اور بصارت بالکل سلب کر لیتا، بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The lightning all but snatches away their sight; every time the light (Helps) them, they walk therein, and when the darkness grows on them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could take away their faculty of hearing and seeing; for Allah hath power over all things.

| Tahir ul Qadri | وہی ہے جو تمہیں (کبھی) ڈرانے اور (کبھی) امید دلانے کے لئے بجلی دکھاتا ہے اور (کبھی) بھاری (گھنے) بادلوں کو اٹھاتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is He Who doth show you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope: It is He Who doth raise up the clouds, heavy with (fertilising) rain!

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس کی نشانیوں میں سے یہ (بھی) ہے کہ وہ تمہیں ڈرانے اور امید دلانے کے لئے بجلی دکھاتا ہے اور آسمان سے (بارش کا) پانی اتارتا ہے پھر اس سے زمین کو اس کی مُردنی کے بعد زندہ و شاداب کر دیتا ہے، بیشک اس میں ان لوگوں کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں جو عقل سے کام لیتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And among His Signs, He shows you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope, and He sends down rain from the sky and with it gives life to the earth after it is dead: verily in that are Signs for those who are wise.
