| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [76:1] | Hal ata AAala al-insani heenunmina alddahri lam yakun shay-an mathkooran |  هل أتى على الإنسان حين من الدهر لم يكن شيئا مذكوراهَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ حِينٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْئًا مَّذْكُورًا | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک انسان پر زمانے کا ایک ایسا وقت بھی گزر چکا ہے کہ وہ کوئی قابلِ ذِکر چیز ہی نہ تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned?

| 2. [76:2] | Inna khalaqna al-insanamin nutfatin amshajin nabtaleehi fajaAAalnahusameeAAan baseeran | إنا خلقنا الإنسان من نطفة أمشاج نبتليه فجعلناه سميعا بصيرا إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم نے انسان کو مخلوط نطفہ سے پیدا فرمایا جسے ہم (تولّد تک ایک مرحلہ سے دوسرے مرحلہ کی طرف) پلٹتے اور جانچتے رہتے ہیں، پس ہم نے اسے (ترتیب سے) سننے والا (پھر) دیکھنے والا بنایا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight.

| 3. [76:3] | Inna hadaynahu alssabeelaimma shakiran wa-imma kafooran | إنا هديناه السبيل إما شاكرا وإما كفورا إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم نے اسے (حق و باطل میں تمیز کرنے کے لئے شعور و بصیرت کی) راہ بھی دکھا دی، (اب) خواہ وہ شکر گزار ہو جائے یا ناشکر گزار رہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will).

| 4. [76:18] | AAaynan feeha tusammasalsabeelan | عينا فيها تسمى سلسبيلا عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (زنجبیل) اس (جنت) میں ایک ایسا چشمہ ہے جس کا نام "سلسبیل" رکھا گیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | A fountain there, called Salsabil.

| Words | |عينا - A spring| فيها - therein,| تسمى - named| سلسبيلا - Salsabil.| | ||||||
| 5. [76:4] | Inna aAAtadna lilkafireenasalasila waaghlalan wasaAAeeran | إنا أعتدنا للكافرين سلاسل وأغلالا وسعيرا إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلَاسِلَا وَأَغْلَالًا وَسَعِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم نے کافروں کے لئے (پاؤں کی) زنجیریں اور (گردن کے) طوق اور (دوزخ کی) دہکتی آگ تیار کر رکھی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For the Rejecters we have prepared chains, yokes, and a blazing Fire.

| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| أعتدنا - [We] have prepared| للكافرين - for the disbelievers| سلاسل - chains| وأغلالا - and shackles| وسعيرا - and a Blazing Fire.| | ||||||
| 6. [76:5] | Inna al-abrara yashraboona min ka/sinkana mizajuha kafooran | إن الأبرار يشربون من كأس كان مزاجها كافورا إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک مخلص اِطاعت گزار (شرابِ طہور کے) ایسے جام پئیں گے جس میں (خوشبو، رنگت اور لذت بڑھانے کے لئے) کافور کی آمیزش ہوگی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,-

| 7. [76:6] | AAaynan yashrabu biha AAibaduAllahi yufajjiroonaha tafjeeran | عينا يشرب بها عباد الله يفجرونها تفجيرا عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (کافور جنت کا) ایک چشمہ ہے جس سے (خاص) بندگانِ خدا (یعنی اَولیاء اللہ) پیا کریں گے (اور) جہاں چاہیں گے (دوسروں کو پلانے کے لئے) اسے چھوٹی چھوٹی نہروں کی شکل میں بہا کر (بھی) لے جائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance.

| 8. [76:7] | Yoofoona bialnnathri wayakhafoonayawman kana sharruhu mustateeran | يوفون بالنذر ويخافون يوما كان شره مستطيرا يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ بندگانِ خاص وہ ہیں) جو (اپنی) نذریں پوری کرتے ہیں اور اس دن سے ڈرتے ہیں جس کی سختی خوب پھیل جانے والی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide.

| Words | |يوفون - They fulfill| بالنذر - the vows| ويخافون - and fear| يوما - a Day -| كان - (which) is| شره - its evil| مستطيرا - widespread.| | ||||||
| 9. [76:8] | WayutAAimona alttaAAamaAAala hubbihi miskeenan wayateeman waaseeran | ويطعمون الطعام على حبه مسكينا ويتيما وأسيرا وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اپنا) کھانا اﷲ کی محبت میں (خود اس کی طلب و حاجت ہونے کے باوُجود اِیثاراً) محتاج کو اور یتیم کو اور قیدی کو کھلا دیتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,-

| Words | |ويطعمون - And they feed| الطعام - the food| على - in spite of| حبه - love (for) it,| مسكينا - (to the) needy,| ويتيما - and (the) orphan| وأسيرا - and (the) captive,| | ||||||
| 10. [76:9] | Innama nutAAimukum liwajhi Allahila nureedu minkum jazaan wala shukooran | إنما نطعمكم لوجه الله لا نريد منكم جزاء ولا شكورا إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اور کہتے ہیں کہ) ہم تو محض اللہ کی رضا کے لئے تمہیں کھلا رہے ہیں، نہ تم سے کسی بدلہ کے خواست گار ہیں اور نہ شکرگزاری کے (خواہش مند) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks.

| Words | |إنما - "Only| نطعمكم - we feed you| لوجه - for (the) Countenance| الله - (of) Allah.| لا - Not| نريد - we desire| منكم - from you| جزاء - any reward| ولا - and not| شكورا - thanks.| | ||||||
| 11. [76:10] | Inna nakhafu min rabbinayawman AAaboosan qamtareeran | إنا نخاف من ربنا يوما عبوسا قمطريرا إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ہمیں تو اپنے ربّ سے اُس دن کا خوف رہتا ہے جو (چہروں کو) نہایت سیاہ (اور) بدنما کر دینے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord."

| 12. [76:11] | Fawaqahumu Allahu sharra thalikaalyawmi walaqqahum nadratan wasurooran | فوقاهم الله شر ذلك اليوم ولقاهم نضرة وسرورا فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس اللہ انہیں (خوفِ اِلٰہی کے سبب سے) اس دن کی سختی سے بچا لے گا اور انہیں (چہروں پر) رونق و تازگی اور (دلوں میں) سرور و مسرّت بخشے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy.

| Words | |فوقاهم - But will protect them| الله - Allah| شر - (from the) evil| ذلك - (of) that| اليوم - Day| ولقاهم - and will cause them to meet| نضرة - radiance| وسرورا - and happiness.| | ||||||
| 13. [76:12] | Wajazahum bima sabaroojannatan wahareeran | وجزاهم بما صبروا جنة وحريرا وَجَزَاهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اِس بات کے عوض کہ انہوں نے صبر کیا ہے (رہنے کو) جنت اور (پہننے کو) ریشمی پوشاک عطا کرے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk.

| 14. [76:13] | Muttaki-eena feeha AAala al-ara-ikila yarawna feeha shamsan wala zamhareeran | متكئين فيها على الأرائك لا يرون فيها شمسا ولا زمهريرا مُّتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ لوگ اس میں تختوں پر تکیے لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے، نہ وہاں دھوپ کی تپش پائیں گے اور نہ سردی کی شدّت | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold.

| Words | |متكئين - Reclining| فيها - therein| على - on| الأرائك - couches.| لا - Not| يرون - they will see| فيها - therein| شمسا - sun| ولا - and not| زمهريرا - freezing cold.| | ||||||
| 15. [76:14] | Wadaniyatan AAalayhim thilaluhawathullilat qutoofuha tathleelan | ودانية عليهم ظلالها وذللت قطوفها تذليلا وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَالُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (جنت کے درختوں کے) سائے ان پر جھک رہے ہوں گے اور ان کے (میووں کے) گچھے جھک کر لٹک رہے ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility.

| Words | |ودانية - And near| عليهم - above them| ظلالها - (are) its shades| وذللت - and will hang low| قطوفها - its cluster of fruits| تذليلا - dangling low.| | ||||||
| 16. [76:15] | Wayutafu AAalayhim bi-aniyatinmin fiddatin waakwabin kanat qawareera | ويطاف عليهم بآنية من فضة وأكواب كانت قواريرا وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِآنِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (خُدام) ان کے گرد چاندی کے برتن اور (صاف ستھرے) شیشے کے گلاس لئے پھرتے ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,-

| Words | |ويطاف - And will be circulated| عليهم - among them| بآنية - vessels| من - of| فضة - silver| وأكواب - and cups| كانت - (that) are| قواريرا - (of) crystal.| | ||||||
| 17. [76:16] | Qawareera min fiddatinqaddarooha taqdeeran | قوارير من فضة قدروها تقديرا قَوَارِيرَاْ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور شیشے بھی چاندی کے (بنے) ہوں گے جنہیں انہوں نے (ہر ایک کی طلب کے مطابق) ٹھیک ٹھیک اندازہ سے بھرا ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes).

| Words | |قوارير - Crystal-clear| من - of| فضة - silver.| قدروها - They will determine its| تقديرا - measure.| | ||||||
| 18. [76:17] | Wayusqawna feeha ka/san kanamizajuha zanjabeelan | ويسقون فيها كأسا كان مزاجها زنجبيلا وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنْجَبِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انہیں وہاں (شرابِ طہور کے) ایسے جام پلائے جائیں گے جن میں زنجبیل کی آمیزش ہوگی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,-

| 19. [76:19] | Wayatoofu AAalayhim wildanunmukhalladoona itha raaytahum hasibtahum lu/lu-anmanthooran | ويطوف عليهم ولدان مخلدون إذا رأيتهم حسبتهم لؤلؤا منثورا وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان کے اِرد گرد ایسے (معصوم) بچے گھومتے رہیں گے، جو ہمیشہ اسی حال میں رہیں گے، جب آپ انہیں دیکھیں گے تو انہیں بکھرے ہوئے موتی گمان کریں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls.

| Words | |ويطوف - And will circulate| عليهم - among them| ولدان - young boys| مخلدون - made eternal.| إذا - When| رأيتهم - you see them,| حسبتهم - you would think them| لؤلؤا - (to be) pearls| منثورا - scattered.| | ||||||
| 20. [76:20] | Wa-itha raayta thamma raaytanaAAeeman wamulkan kabeeran | وإذا رأيت ثم رأيت نعيما وملكا كبيرا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب آپ (بہشت پر) نظر ڈالیں گے تو وہاں (کثرت سے) نعمتیں اور (ہر طرف) بڑی سلطنت دیکھیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent.

| Words | |وإذا - And when| رأيت - you look,| ثم - then| رأيت - you will see| نعيما - blessings| وملكا - and a kingdom| كبيرا - great.| | ||||||

[76:21] | AAaliyahum thiyabu sundusinkhudrun wa-istabraqun wahulloo asawira minfiddatin wasaqahum rabbuhum sharaban tahooran | عاليهم ثياب سندس خضر وإستبرق وحلوا أساور من فضة وسقاهم ربهم شرابا طهورا عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان (کے جسموں) پر باریک ریشم کے سبز اور دبیز اطلس کے کپڑے ہوں گے، اور انہیں چاندی کے کنگن پہنائے جائیں گے اور ان کا ربّ انہیں پاکیزہ شراب پلائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy.

| 22. [76:22] | Inna hatha kana lakum jazaanwakana saAAyukum mashkooran | إن هذا كان لكم جزاء وكان سعيكم مشكورا إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک یہ تمہارا صلہ ہوگا اور تمہاری محنت مقبول ہوچکی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised."

| 23. [76:23] | Inna nahnu nazzalnaAAalayka alqur-ana tanzeelan | إنا نحن نزلنا عليك القرآن تنزيلا إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنْزِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم نے آپ پر قرآن تھوڑا تھوڑا کر کے نازل فرمایا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to thee by stages.

| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| نحن - [We]| نزلنا - [We] revealed| عليك - to you| القرآن - the Quran| تنزيلا - progressively.| | ||||||
| 24. [76:24] | Faisbir lihukmi rabbikawala tutiAA minhum athiman aw kafooran | فاصبر لحكم ربك ولا تطع منهم آثما أو كفورا فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو آپ اپنے ربّ کے حکم کی خاطر صبر (جاری) رکھیں اور ان میں سے کسی کاذب و گنہگار یا کافر و ناشکرگزار کی بات پر کان نہ دھریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them.

| Words | |فاصبر - So be patient| لحكم - for (the) Command| ربك - (of) your Lord| ولا - and (do) not| تطع - obey| منهم - from them| آثما - any sinner| أو - or| كفورا - disbeliever.| | ||||||
| 25. [76:25] | Waothkuri isma rabbikabukratan waaseelan | واذكر اسم ربك بكرة وأصيلا وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور صبح و شام اپنے رب کے نام کا ذکر کیا کریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And celebrate the name or thy Lord morning and evening,
| ||||||
| Words | |واذكر - And remember| اسم - (the) name| ربك - (of) your Lord| بكرة - morning| وأصيلا - and evening.| | ||||||
| 26. [76:26] | Wamina allayli faosjud lahu wasabbihhulaylan taweelan | ومن الليل فاسجد له وسبحه ليلا طويلا وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور رات کی کچھ گھڑیاں اس کے حضور سجدہ ریزی کیا کریں اور رات کے (بقیہ) طویل حصہ میں اس کی تسبیح کیا کریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And part of the night, prostrate thyself to Him; and glorify Him a long night through.

| Words | |ومن - And of| الليل - the night| فاسجد - prostrate| له - to Him,| وسبحه - and glorify Him| ليلا - a night| طويلا - long.| | ||||||
| 27. [76:27] | Inna haola-i yuhibboonaalAAajilata wayatharoona waraahum yawmanthaqeelan | إن هؤلاء يحبون العاجلة ويذرون وراءهم يوما ثقيلا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک یہ (طالبانِ دنیا) جلد ملنے والے مفاد کو عزیز رکھتے ہیں اور سخت بھاری دن (کی یاد) کو اپنے پسِ پشت چھوڑے ہوئے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to these, they love the fleeting life, and put away behind them a Day (that will be) hard.

| Tahir ul Qadri | (وہ نہیں سوچتے کہ) ہم ہی نے انہیں پیدا فرمایا ہے اور ان کے جوڑ جوڑ کو مضبوط بنایا ہے، اور ہم جب چاہیں (انہیں) انہی جیسے لوگوں سے بدل ڈالیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is We Who created them, and We have made their joints strong; but, when We will, We can substitute the like of them by a complete change.

| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک یہ (قرآن) نصیحت ہے، سو جو کوئی چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف (پہنچنے کا) راستہ اِختیار کر لے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | This is an admonition: Whosoever will, let him take a (straight) Path to his Lord.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم خود کچھ نہیں چاہ سکتے سوائے اس کے جو اللہ چاہے، بے شک اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But ye will not, except as Allah wills; for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.
