| Yousuf Ali | It is He Who has taught the Qur'an.

| 3. [55:3] | Khalaqa al-insana | خلق الإنسان خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | He has created man:

| 4. [55:4] | AAallamahu albayana | علمه البيان عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اسی نے اِسے (یعنی نبیِ برحق صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو مَا کَانَ وَ مَا یَکُونُ کا) بیان سکھایا٭ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He has taught him speech (and intelligence).

| 5. [55:5] | Alshshamsu waalqamaru bihusbanin | الشمس والقمر بحسبان الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سورج اور چاند (اسی کے) مقررّہ حساب سے چل رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed;
| ||||||
| Words | |الشمس - The sun| والقمر - and the moon| بحسبان - by (precise) calculation,| | ||||||
| 6. [55:6] | Waalnnajmu waalshshajaru yasjudani | والنجم والشجر يسجدان وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور زمین پر پھیلنے والی بوٹیاں اور سب درخت (اسی کو) سجدہ کر رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration.

| Words | |والنجم - And the stars| والشجر - and the trees| يسجدان - both prostrate.| | ||||||
| 7. [55:7] | Waalssamaa rafaAAahawawadaAAa almeezana | والسماء رفعها ووضع الميزان وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اسی نے آسمان کو بلند کر رکھا ہے اور (اسی نے عدل کے لئے) ترازو قائم کر رکھی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice),

| Words | |والسماء - And the heaven,| رفعها - He raised it| ووضع - and He has set up| الميزان - the balance,| | ||||||
| 8. [55:8] | Alla tatghaw fee almeezani | ألا تطغوا في الميزان أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تاکہ تم تولنے میں بے اعتدالی نہ کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance.
| ||||||
| Words | |ألا - That not| تطغوا - you may transgress| في - in| الميزان - the balance.| | ||||||
| 9. [55:10] | Waal-arda wadaAAahalil-anami | والأرض وضعها للأنام وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | زمین کو اسی نے مخلوق کے لئے بچھا دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures:

| Words | |والأرض - And the earth,| وضعها - He laid it| للأنام - for the creatures,| | ||||||
| 10. [55:19] | Maraja albahrayni yaltaqiyani | مرج البحرين يلتقيان مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اسی نے دو سمندر رواں کئے جو باہم مل جاتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together:

| Words | |مرج - He released| البحرين - the two seas,| يلتقيان - meeting.| | ||||||
| 11. [55:48] | Thawata afnanin | ذواتا أفنان ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو دونوں (سرسبز و شاداب) گھنی شاخوں والی (جنتیں) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);-
| ||||||
| Words | |ذواتا - Having| أفنان - branches.| | ||||||
| 12. [55:9] | Waaqeemoo alwazna bialqisti walatukhsiroo almeezana | وأقيموا الوزن بالقسط ولا تخسروا الميزان وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انصاف کے ساتھ وزن کو ٹھیک رکھو اور تول کو کم نہ کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.
| ||||||
| Words | |وأقيموا - And establish| الوزن - the weight| بالقسط - in justice| ولا - and (do) not| تخسروا - make deficient| الميزان - the balance.| | ||||||
| 13. [55:11] | Feeha fakihatun waalnnakhluthatu al-akmami | فيها فاكهة والنخل ذات الأكمام فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس میں میوے ہیں اور خوشوں والی کھجوریں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates);

| Words | |فيها - Therein| فاكهة - (is) fruit| والنخل - and date-palms| ذات - having| الأكمام - sheaths,| | ||||||
| 14. [55:12] | Waalhabbu thoo alAAasfiwaalrrayhani | والحب ذو العصف والريحان وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بھوسہ والا اناج ہے اور خوشبودار (پھل) پھول ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants.

| Words | |والحب - And the grain| ذو - having| العصف - husk| والريحان - and scented plants.| | ||||||
| 15. [55:13] | Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththibani | فبأي آلاء ربكما تكذبان فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس (اے گروہِ جنّ و انسان!) تم دونوں اپنے رب کی کن کن نعمتوں کو جھٹلاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
| ||||||
| Words | |فبأي - So which| آلاء - (of the) favors| ربكما - (of) your Lord| تكذبان - will you both deny?| | ||||||
| 16. [55:14] | Khalaqa al-insana min salsalinkaalfakhkhari | خلق الإنسان من صلصال كالفخار خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اسی نے انسان کو ٹھیکری کی طرح بجتے ہوئے خشک گارے سے بنایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,
| ||||||
| Words | |خلق - He created| الإنسان - the man| من - from| صلصال - clay| كالفخار - like the pottery.| | ||||||
| 17. [55:50] | Feehima AAaynani tajriyani | فيهما عينان تجريان فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان دونوں میں دو چشمے بہہ رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In them (each) will be two Springs flowing (free);
| ||||||
| Words | |فيهما - In both of them| عينان - (are) two springs,| تجريان - flowing.| | ||||||
| 18. [55:58] | Kaannahunna alyaqootu waalmarjanu | كأنهن الياقوت والمرجان كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | گویا وہ (حوریں) یا قوت اور مرجان ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Like unto Rubies and coral.
| ||||||
| Words | |كأنهن - As if they were| الياقوت - rubies| والمرجان - and coral.| | ||||||
| 19. [55:15] | Wakhalaqa aljanna min marijinmin narin | وخلق الجان من مارج من نار وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جنّات کو آگ کے شعلے سے پیدا کیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke:
| ||||||
| Words | |وخلق - And He created| الجان - the jinn| من - from| مارج - a smokeless flame| من - of| نار - fire.| | ||||||
| 20. [55:16] | Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththibani | فبأي آلاء ربكما تكذبان فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تم دونوں اپنے رب کی کن کن نعمتوں کو جھٹلاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
| ||||||
| Words | |فبأي - So which| آلاء - (of the) favors| ربكما - (of) your Lord| تكذبان - will you both deny?| | ||||||
| 21. [55:17] | Rabbu almashriqayni warabbu almaghribayni | رب المشرقين ورب المغربين رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (وہی) دونوں مشرقوں کا مالک ہے اور (وہی) دونوں مغربوں کا مالک ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests:

| Words | |رب - Lord| المشرقين - (of) the two Easts| ورب - and Lord| المغربين - (of) the two Wests.| | ||||||
| 22. [55:18] | Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththibani | فبأي آلاء ربكما تكذبان فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تم دونوں اپنے رب کی کن کن نعمتوں کو جھٹلاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
| ||||||
| Words | |فبأي - So which| آلاء - (of the) favors| ربكما - (of) your Lord| تكذبان - will you both deny?| | ||||||
| 23. [55:20] | Baynahuma barzakhun la yabghiyani | بينهما برزخ لا يبغيان بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُن دونوں کے درمیان ایک آڑ ہے وہ (اپنی اپنی) حد سے تجاوز نہیں کرسکتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress:
| ||||||
| Words | |بينهما - Between both of them| برزخ - (is) a barrier,| لا - not| يبغيان - they transgress.| | ||||||
| 24. [55:62] | Wamin doonihima jannatani | ومن دونهما جنتان وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اُن کے لئے) اِن دو کے سوا دو اور بہشتیں بھی ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,-
| ||||||
| Words | |ومن - Besides these two| دونهما - Besides these two| جنتان - (are) two gardens.| | ||||||
| 25. [55:64] | Mudhammatani | مدهامتان مُدْهَامَّتَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ دونوں گہری سبز رنگت میں سیاہی مائل لگتی ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering).
| ||||||
| Words | |مدهامتان - Dark green.| | ||||||
| 26. [55:66] | Feehima AAaynani naddakhatani | فيهما عينان نضاختان فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُن دونوں میں (بھی) دو چشمے ہیں جو خوب چھلک رہے ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance:

| Words | |فيهما - In both of them| عينان - (are) two springs,| نضاختان - gushing forth.| | ||||||
| 27. [55:70] | Feehinna khayratun hisanun | فيهن خيرات حسان فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان میں (بھی) خوب سیرت و خوب صورت (حوریں) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In them will be fair (Companions), good, beautiful;-
| ||||||
| Words | |فيهن - In them| خيرات - (are) good| حسان - and beautiful ones.| | ||||||
| 28. [55:21] | Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththibani | فبأي آلاء ربكما تكذبان فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تم دونوں اپنے رب کی کن کن نعمتوں کو جھٹلاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?
| ||||||
| Words | |فبأي - So which| آلاء - (of the) favors| ربكما - (of) your Lord| تكذبان - will you both deny?| | ||||||
| 29. [55:22] | Yakhruju minhuma allu/luo waalmarjanu | يخرج منهما اللؤلؤ والمرجان يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُن دونوں (سمندروں) سے موتی (جس کی جھلک سبز ہوتی ہے) اور مَرجان (جِس کی رنگت سرخ ہوتی ہے) نکلتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Out of them come Pearls and Coral:

| Words | |يخرج - Come forth| منهما - from both of them| اللؤلؤ - the pearl| والمرجان - and the coral.| | ||||||
| 30. [55:23] | Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththibani | فبأي آلاء ربكما تكذبان فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تم دونوں اپنے رب کی کن کن نعمتوں کو جھٹلاؤ گے | ||||||
