| 1. [51:1] | Waalththariyati tharwan |  والذاريات ذرواوَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْوًا | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast;

| Words | |والذاريات - By those scattering,| ذروا - dispersing,| | ||||||
| 2. [51:2] | Faalhamilati wiqran | فالحاملات وقرا فَالْحَامِلَاتِ وِقْرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (پانی کا) بارِ گراں اٹھانے والی بدلیوں کی قَسم | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And those that lift and bear away heavy weights;

| Words | |فالحاملات - And those carrying| وقرا - a load,| | ||||||
| 3. [51:3] | Faaljariyati yusran | فالجاريات يسرا فَالْجَارِيَاتِ يُسْرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور خراماں خراماں چلنے والی کشتیوں کی قَسم | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And those that flow with ease and gentleness;

| 4. [51:4] | Faalmuqassimati amran | فالمقسمات أمرا فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْرًا | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | And those that distribute and apportion by Command;-

| 5. [51:5] | Innama tooAAadoona lasadiqun | إنما توعدون لصادق إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک (آخرت کا) جو وعدہ تم سے کیا جا رہا ہے بالکل سچا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily that which ye are promised is true;
| ||||||
| Words | |إنما - Indeed, what| توعدون - you are promised| لصادق - (is) surely true,| | ||||||
| 6. [51:6] | Wa-inna alddeena lawaqiAAun | وإن الدين لواقع وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک (اعمال کی) جزا و سزا ضرور واقع ہو کر رہے گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass.

| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| الدين - the Judgment| لواقع - (is) surely to occur.| | ||||||
| 7. [51:7] | Waalssama-i thati alhubuki | والسماء ذات الحبك وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْحُبُكِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (ستاروں اور سیّاروں کی) کہکشاؤں اور گزرگاہوں والے آسمان کی قَسم | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths,
| ||||||
| Words | |والسماء - By the heaven| ذات - full of| الحبك - pathways.| | ||||||
| 8. [51:8] | Innakum lafee qawlin mukhtalifin | إنكم لفي قول مختلف إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک تم مختلف بے جوڑ باتوں میں (پڑے) ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant,
| ||||||
| Words | |إنكم - Indeed, you| لفي - (are) surely in| قول - a speech| مختلف - differing.| | ||||||
| 9. [51:9] | Yu/faku AAanhu man ofika | يؤفك عنه من أفك يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اِس (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور قرآن سے) وہی پھرتا ہے جِسے (علمِ ازلی سے) پھیر دیا گیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded.

| 10. [51:10] | Qutila alkharrasoona | قتل الخراصون قُتِلَ الْخَرَّاصُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ظنّ و تخمین سے جھوٹ بولنے والے ہلاک ہو گئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Woe to the falsehood-mongers,-
| ||||||
| Words | |قتل - Cursed be| الخراصون - the liars,| | ||||||
| 11. [51:12] | Yas-aloona ayyana yawmu alddeeni | يسألون أيان يوم الدين يَسْأَلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّينِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پوچھتے ہیں یومِ جزا کب ہو گا؟ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?"

| Words | |يسألون - They ask,| أيان - "When| يوم - (is the) Day| الدين - (of) Judgment?"| | ||||||
| 12. [51:18] | Wabial-ashari humyastaghfiroona | وبالأسحار هم يستغفرون وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور رات کے پچھلے پہروں میں (اٹھ اٹھ کر) مغفرت طلب کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness;

| Words | |وبالأسحار - And in the hours before dawn| هم - they| يستغفرون - would ask forgiveness,| | ||||||
| 13. [51:20] | Wafee al-ardi ayatunlilmooqineena | وفي الأرض آيات للموقنين وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آيَاتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور زمین میں صاحبانِ ایقان (یعنی کامل یقین والوں) کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith,
| ||||||
| Words | |وفي - And in| الأرض - the earth| آيات - (are) signs| للموقنين - for those who are certain,| | ||||||
| 14. [51:11] | Allatheena hum fee ghamratin sahoona | الذين هم في غمرة ساهون الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو جہالت و غفلت میں (آخرت کو) بھول جانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion:

| Words | |الذين - Those who| هم - [they]| في - (are) in| غمرة - flood| ساهون - (of) heedlessness.| | ||||||
| 15. [51:13] | Yawma hum AAala alnnariyuftanoona | يوم هم على النار يفتنون يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (فرما دیجئے:) اُس دن (ہوگا جب) وہ آتشِ دوزخ میں تپائے جائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire!

| Words | |يوم - A Day,| هم - they| على - over| النار - the Fire| يفتنون - will be tried,| | ||||||
| 16. [51:14] | Thooqoo fitnatakum hatha allatheekuntum bihi tastaAAjiloona | ذوقوا فتنتكم هذا الذي كنتم به تستعجلون ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اُن سے کہا جائے گا:) اپنی سزا کا مزہ چکھو، یہی وہ عذاب ہے جسے تم جلدی مانگتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!"

| Words | |ذوقوا - "Taste| فتنتكم - your trial.| هذا - This| الذي - (is) what| كنتم - you were| به - for it| تستعجلون - seeking to hasten."| | ||||||
| 17. [51:15] | Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwaAAuyoonin | إن المتقين في جنات وعيون إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک پرہیزگار باغوں اور چشموں میں (لطف اندوز ہوتے) ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs,
| ||||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| المتقين - the righteous| في - (will be) in| جنات - Gardens| وعيون - and springs,| | ||||||
| 18. [51:16] | Akhitheena ma atahumrabbuhum innahum kanoo qabla thalika muhsineena | آخذين ما آتاهم ربهم إنهم كانوا قبل ذلك محسنين آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُن نعمتوں کو (کیف و سرور) سے لیتے ہوں گے جو اُن کا رب انہیں (لطف و کرم سے) دیتا ہوگا، بیشک یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو اس سے قبل (کی زندگی میں) صاحبانِ احسان تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life.

| Words | |آخذين - Taking| ما - what| آتاهم - their Lord has given them.| ربهم - their Lord has given them.| إنهم - Indeed, they| كانوا - were| قبل - before| ذلك - that| محسنين - good-doers.| | ||||||
| 19. [51:21] | Wafee anfusikum afala tubsiroona | وفي أنفسكم أفلا تبصرون وَفِي أَنفُسِكُمْ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور خود تمہارے نفوس میں (بھی ہیں)، سو کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see?
| ||||||
| Words | |وفي - And in| أنفسكم - yourselves.| أفلا - Then will not| تبصرون - you see?| | ||||||
| 20. [51:34] | Musawwamatan AAinda rabbika lilmusrifeena | مسومة عند ربك للمسرفين مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (وہ پتھر جن پر) حد سے گزر جانے والوں کے لئے آپ کے رب کی طرف سے نشان لگا دیا گیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds."

| Words | |مسومة - Marked| عند - by your Lord| ربك - by your Lord| للمسرفين - for the transgressors."| | ||||||
| 21. [51:48] | Waal-arda farashnahafaniAAma almahidoona | والأرض فرشناها فنعم الماهدون وَالْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (سطحِ) زمین کو ہم ہی نے (قابلِ رہائش) فرش بنایا سو ہم کیا خوب سنوارنے اور سیدھا کرنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out!

| Words | |والأرض - And the earth,| فرشناها - We have spread it;| فنعم - how excellent| الماهدون - (are) the Spreaders!| | ||||||
| 22. [51:17] | Kanoo qaleelan mina allayli mayahjaAAoona | كانوا قليلا من الليل ما يهجعون كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ راتوں کو تھوڑی سی دیر سویا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night,
| ||||||
| Words | |كانوا - They used to| قليلا - little| من - of| الليل - the night| ما - [what]| يهجعون - sleep.| | ||||||
| 23. [51:19] | Wafee amwalihim haqqun lilssa-iliwaalmahroomi | وفي أموالهم حق للسائل والمحروم وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اُن کے اموال میں سائل اور محروم (سب حاجت مندوں) کا حق مقرر تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking).

| Words | |وفي - And in| أموالهم - their wealth| حق - (was the) right| للسائل - (of) those who asked| والمحروم - and the deprived.| | ||||||
| 24. [51:22] | Wafee alssama-i rizqukum wamatooAAadoona | وفي السماء رزقكم وما توعدون وَفِي السَّمَاءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آسمان میں تمہارا رِزق (بھی) ہے اور وہ (سب کچھ بھی) جس کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised.
| ||||||
| Words | |وفي - And in| السماء - the heaven| رزقكم - (is) your provision| وما - and what| توعدون - you are promised.| | ||||||
| 25. [51:23] | Fawarabbi alssama-i waal-ardiinnahu lahaqqun mithla ma annakum tantiqoona | فورب السماء والأرض إنه لحق مثل ما أنكم تنطقون فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس آسمان اور زمین کے مالک کی قَسم! یہ (ہمارا وعدہ) اسی طرح یقینی ہے جس طرح تمہارا اپنا بولنا (تمہیں اس پر کامل یقین ہوتا ہے کہ منہ سے کیا کہہ رہے ہو) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other.

| 26. [51:24] | Hal ataka hadeethu dayfiibraheema almukrameena | هل أتاك حديث ضيف إبراهيم المكرمين هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا آپ کے پاس ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے معزّز مہمانوں کی خبر پہنچی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham?

| Words | |هل - Has| أتاك - reached you| حديث - (the) narration| ضيف - (of the) guests| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim| المكرمين - the honored?| | ||||||
| 27. [51:25] | Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloosalaman qala salamun qawmun munkaroona | إذ دخلوا عليه فقالوا سلاما قال سلام قوم منكرون إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ سَلَامٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب وہ (فرشتے) اُن کے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے سلام پیش کیا، ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے بھی (جواباً) سلام کہا، (ساتھ ہی دل میں سوچنے لگے کہ) یہ اجنبی لوگ ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people."

| Words | |إذ - When| دخلوا - they entered| عليه - upon him| فقالوا - and said,| سلاما - "Peace."| قال - He said,| سلام - "Peace,| قوم - a people| منكرون - unknown."| | ||||||
| 28. [51:26] | Faragha ila ahlihi fajaabiAAijlin sameenin | فراغ إلى أهله فجاء بعجل سمين فَرَاغَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَجَاءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جلدی سے اپنے گھر کی طرف گئے اور ایک فربہ بچھڑے کی سجّی لے آئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf,

| Words | |فراغ - Then he went| إلى - to| أهله - his household| فجاء - and came| بعجل - with a calf| سمين - fat,| | ||||||
| 29. [51:27] | Faqarrabahu ilayhim qala alata/kuloona | فقربه إليهم قال ألا تأكلون فَقَرَّبَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اسے ان کے سامنے پیش کر دیا، فرمانے لگے: کیا تم نہیں کھاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?"

| Words | |فقربه - And he placed it near| إليهم - [to] them,| قال - he said,| ألا - "Will not| تأكلون - you eat?"| | ||||||
| 30. [51:28] | Faawjasa minhum kheefatan qaloo latakhaf wabashsharoohu bighulamin AAaleemin | فأوجس منهم خيفة قالوا لا تخف وبشروه بغلام عليم فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اُن (کے نہ کھانے) سے دل میں ہلکی سے گھبراہٹ محسوس کی۔ وہ (فرشتے) کہنے لگے: آپ گھبرائیے نہیں، اور اُن کو علم و دانش والے بیٹے (اسحاق علیہ السلام) کی خوشخبری سنا دی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge.
