| 2. [50:2] | Bal AAajiboo an jaahum munthirunminhum faqala alkafiroona hatha shay-onAAajeebun | بل عجبوا أن جاءهم منذر منهم فقال الكافرون هذا شيء عجيب بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَن جَاءَهُمْ مُنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ اُن لوگوں نے تعجب کیا کہ اُن کے پاس اُنہی میں سے ایک ڈر سنانے والا آگیا ہے، سو کافر کہتے ہیں: یہ عجیب بات ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing!

| 3. [50:3] | A-itha mitna wakunna turabanthalika rajAAun baAAeedun | أإذا متنا وكنا ترابا ذلك رجع بعيد أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ذَلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا جب ہم مَر جائیں گے اور ہم مٹّی ہو جائیں گے (تو پھر زندہ ہوں گے)؟ یہ پلٹنا (فہم و ادراک سے) بعید ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)."

| 4. [50:4] | Qad AAalimna ma tanqusual-ardu minhum waAAindana kitabun hafeethun | قد علمنا ما تنقص الأرض منهم وعندنا كتاب حفيظ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم جانتے ہیں کہ زمین اُن (کے جسموں) سے (کھا کھا کر) کتنا کم کرتی ہے، اور ہمارے پاس (ایسی) کتاب ہے جس میں سب کچھ محفوظ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account).

| 5. [50:5] | Bal kaththaboo bialhaqqilamma jaahum fahum fee amrin mareejin | بل كذبوا بالحق لما جاءهم فهم في أمر مريج بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ (عجیب اور فہم و ادراک سے بعید بات تو یہ ہے کہ) انہوں نے حق (یعنی رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور قرآن) کو جھٹلا دیا جب وہ اُن کے پاس آچکا سو وہ خود (ہی) الجھن اور اضطراب کی بات میں (پڑے) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state.

| 6. [50:6] | Afalam yanthuroo ila alssama-ifawqahum kayfa banaynaha wazayyannahawama laha min furoojin | أفلم ينظروا إلى السماء فوقهم كيف بنيناها وزيناها وما لها من فروج أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو کیا انہوں نے آسمان کی طرف نگاہ نہیں کی جو ان کے اوپر ہے کہ ہم نے اسے کیسے بنایا ہے اور (کیسے) سجایا ہے اور اس میں کوئی شگاف (تک) نہیں ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Do they not look at the sky above them?- How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it?

| 7. [50:7] | Waal-arda madadnahawaalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatnafeeha min kulli zawjin baheejin | والأرض مددناها وألقينا فيها رواسي وأنبتنا فيها من كل زوج بهيج وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اِسی طرح) ہم نے زمین کو پھیلایا اور اس میں ہم نے بہت بھاری پہاڑ رکھے اور ہم نے اس میں ہر قسم کے خوش نما پودے اُگائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)-

| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ سب) بصیرت اور نصیحت (کاسامان) ہے ہر اس بندے کے لئے جو (اﷲ کی طرف) رجوع کرنے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | To be observed and commemorated by every devotee turning (to Allah).

| 9. [50:9] | Wanazzalna mina alssama-imaan mubarakan faanbatna bihi jannatinwahabba alhaseedi | ونزلنا من السماء ماء مباركا فأنبتنا به جنات وحب الحصيد وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُّبَارَكًا فَأَنبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے آسمان سے بابرکت پانی برسایا پھر ہم نے اس سے باغات اگائے اور کھیتوں کا غلّہ (بھی) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests;

| 10. [50:10] | Waalnnakhla basiqatinlaha talAAun nadeedun | والنخل باسقات لها طلع نضيد وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور لمبی لمبی کھجوریں جن کے خوشے تہ بہ تہ ہوتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;-

| Words | |والنخل - And the palms trees| باسقات - tall -| لها - for it| طلع - (are) layers| نضيد - arranged.| | ||||||
| 11. [50:11] | Rizqan lilAAibadi waahyaynabihi baldatan maytan kathalika alkhurooju | رزقا للعباد وأحيينا به بلدة ميتا كذلك الخروج رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا كَذَلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ سب کچھ اپنے) بندوں کی روزی کے لئے (کیا) اور ہم نے اس (پانی) سے مُردہ زمین کو زندہ کیا، اسی طرح (تمہارا) قبروں سے نکلنا ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As sustenance for (Allah's) Servants;- and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection.

| 12. [50:12] | Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinwaas-habu alrrassi wathamoodu | كذبت قبلهم قوم نوح وأصحاب الرس وثمود كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اِن (کفّارِ مکہ) سے پہلے قومِ نوح نے، اور (سرزمینِ یمامہ کے اندھے) کنویں والوں نے، اور (مدینہ سے شام کی طرف تبوک کے قریب بستیِ حجر میں آباد صالح علیہ السلام کی قوم) ثمود نے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud,

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (عُمان اور اَرضِ مَہرہ کے درمیان یمن کی وادئ اَحقاف میں آباد ہود علیہ السلام کی قومِ) عاد نے اور(مصر کے حکمران) فرعون نے اور (اَرضِ فلسطین میں سدوم اور عمورہ کی رہنے والی) قومِ لُوط نے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The 'Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut,

| 14. [50:14] | Waas-habu al-aykati waqawmutubbaAAin kullun kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqawaAAeedi | وأصحاب الأيكة وقوم تبع كل كذب الرسل فحق وعيد وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (مَدیَن کے گھنے درختوں والے بَن) اَیکہ کے رہنے والوں نے (یہ قومِ شعیب تھی) اور (بادشاہِ یَمن اسعَد ابوکریب) تُبّع (الحِمیَری) کی قوم نے، (الغرض اِن) سب نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا، پس (اِن پر) میرا وعدۂ عذاب ثابت ہو کر رہا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them).

| 15. [50:15] | AfaAAayeena bialkhalqial-awwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeedin | أفعيينا بالخلق الأول بل هم في لبس من خلق جديد أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو کیا ہم پہلی بار پیدا کرنے کے باعث تھک گئے ہیں؟ (ایسا نہیں) بلکہ وہ لوگ اَزسرِنَو پیدائش کی نسبت شک میں (پڑے) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Were We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation?

[50:16] | Walaqad khalaqna al-insanawanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabuilayhi min habli alwareedi | ولقد خلقنا الإنسان ونعلم ما توسوس به نفسه ونحن أقرب إليه من حبل الوريد وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے انسان کو پیدا کیا ہے اور ہم اُن وسوسوں کو (بھی) جانتے ہیں جو اس کا نفس (اس کے دل و دماغ میں) ڈالتا ہے۔ اور ہم اس کی شہ رگ سے بھی زیادہ اس کے قریب ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein.

| 17. [50:17] | Ith yatalaqqa almutalaqqiyaniAAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali qaAAeedun | إذ يتلقى المتلقيان عن اليمين وعن الشمال قعيد إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب دو لینے والے (فرشتے اس کے ہر قول و فعل کو تحریر میں) لے لیتے ہیں (جو) دائیں طرف اور بائیں طرف بیٹھے ہوئے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left.

| 18. [50:18] | Ma yalfithu min qawlinilla ladayhi raqeebun AAateedun | ما يلفظ من قول إلا لديه رقيب عتيد مَا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ مُنہ سے کوئی بات نہیں کہنے پاتا مگر اس کے پاس ایک نگہبان (لکھنے کے لئے) تیار رہتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it).

| 19. [50:19] | Wajaat sakratu almawti bialhaqqithalika ma kunta minhu taheedu | وجاءت سكرة الموت بالحق ذلك ما كنت منه تحيد وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور موت کی بے ہوشی حق کے ساتھ آپہنچی۔ (اے انسان!) یہی وہ چیز ہے جس سے تو بھاگتا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!"

| 20. [50:20] | Wanufikha fee alssoori thalikayawmu alwaAAeedi | ونفخ في الصور ذلك يوم الوعيد وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور صُور پھونکا جائے گا، یہی (عذاب ہی) وعید کا دن ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given).

| Words | |ونفخ - And will be blown| في - [in]| الصور - the trumpet.| ذلك - That| يوم - (is the) Day| الوعيد - (of) the Warning.| | ||||||
| 21. [50:21] | Wajaat kullu nafsin maAAaha sa-iqunwashaheedun | وجاءت كل نفس معها سائق وشهيد وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہر جان (ہمارے حضور اس طرح) آئے گی کہ اُس کا ایک ہانکنے والا (فرشتہ) اور (دوسرا اعمال پر) گواہ ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness.

| 22. [50:22] | Laqad kunta fee ghaflatin min hathafakashafna AAanka ghitaaka fabasarukaalyawma hadeedun | لقد كنت في غفلة من هذا فكشفنا عنك غطاءك فبصرك اليوم حديد لَقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | حقیقت میں تُو اِس (دن) سے غفلت میں پڑا رہا سو ہم نے تیرا پردۂ (غفلت) ہٹا دیا پس آج تیری نگاہ تیز ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!"

| Words | |لقد - "Certainly| كنت - you were| في - in| غفلة - heedlessness| من - of| هذا - this.| فكشفنا - So We have removed| عنك - from you| غطاءك - your cover,| فبصرك - so your sight| اليوم - today| حديد - (is) sharp."| | ||||||
| 23. [50:23] | Waqala qareenuhu hatha maladayya AAateedun | وقال قرينه هذا ما لدي عتيد وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس کے ساتھ رہنے والا (فرشتہ) کہے گا: یہ ہے جو کچھ میرے پاس تیار ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!"

| Words | |وقال - And (will) say| قرينه - his companion,| هذا - "This| ما - (is) what| لدي - (is) with me| عتيد - ready."| | ||||||
| 24. [50:24] | Alqiya fee jahannama kulla kaffarinAAaneedin | ألقيا في جهنم كل كفار عنيد أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (حکم ہوگا): پس تم دونوں (ایسے) ہر ناشکرگزار سرکش کو دوزخ میں ڈال دو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!-

| Tahir ul Qadri | جو نیکی سے روکنے والا ہے، حد سے بڑھ جانے والا ہے، شک کرنے اور ڈالنے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions;

| 26. [50:26] | Allathee jaAAala maAAa Allahiilahan akhara faalqiyahu fee alAAathabialshshadeedi | الذي جعل مع الله إلها آخر فألقياه في العذاب الشديد الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس نے اﷲ کے ساتھ دوسرا معبود ٹھہرا رکھا تھا سو تم اسے سخت عذاب میں ڈال دو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Who set up another god beside Allah: Throw him into a severe penalty."

| 27. [50:27] | Qala qareenuhu rabbana maatghaytuhu walakin kana fee dalalinbaAAeedin | قال قرينه ربنا ما أطغيته ولكن كان في ضلال بعيد قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَكِن كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray."

| Tahir ul Qadri | ارشاد ہوگا: تم لوگ میرے حضور جھگڑا مَت کرو حالانکہ میں تمہاری طرف پہلے ہی (عذاب کی) وعید بھیج چکا ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning.

| Tahir ul Qadri | میری بارگاہ میں فرمان بدلا نہیں جاتا اور نہ ہی میں بندوں پر ظلم کرنے والا ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants."

| Tahir ul Qadri | اس دن ہم دوزخ سے فرمائیں گے: کیا تو بھر گئی ہے؟ اور وہ کہے گی: کیا کچھ اور زیادہ بھی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One Day We will ask Hell, "Art thou filled to the full?" It will say, "Are there any more (to come)?"
