| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [92:1] | Waallayli itha yaghsha |  والليل إذا يغشىوَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | رات کی قَسم جب وہ چھا جائے (اور ہر چیز کو اپنی تاریکی میں چھپا لے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | By the Night as it conceals (the light);
| ||||||
| Words | |والليل - By the night| إذا - when| يغشى - it covers,| | ||||||
| 2. [92:2] | Waalnnahari itha tajalla | والنهار إذا تجلى وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور دن کی قَسم جب وہ چمک اٹھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | By the Day as it appears in glory;
| ||||||
| Words | |والنهار - And the day| إذا - when| تجلى - it shines in brightness,| | ||||||
| 3. [92:3] | Wama khalaqa alththakarawaal-ontha | وما خلق الذكر والأنثى وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس ذات کی (قَسم) جس نے (ہر چیز میں) نر اور مادہ کو پیدا فرمایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;-
| ||||||
| Words | |وما - And He Who| خلق - created| الذكر - the male| والأنثى - and the female,| | ||||||
| 4. [92:4] | Inna saAAyakum lashatta | إن سعيكم لشتى إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک تمہاری کوشش مختلف (اور جداگانہ) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse.
| ||||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| سعيكم - your efforts| لشتى - (are) surely diverse.| | ||||||
| 5. [92:5] | Faamma man aAAta waittaqa | فأما من أعطى واتقى فَأَمَّا مَن أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس جس نے (اپنا مال اﷲ کی راہ میں) دیا اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah),
| ||||||
| Words | |فأما - Then as for| من - (him) who| أعطى - gives| واتقى - and fears,| | ||||||
| 6. [92:6] | Wasaddaqa bialhusna | وصدق بالحسنى وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس نے (اِنفاق و تقوٰی کے ذریعے) اچھائی (یعنی دینِ حق اور آخرت) کی تصدیق کی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,-
| ||||||
| Words | |وصدق - And believes| بالحسنى - in the best,| | ||||||
| 7. [92:7] | Fasanuyassiruhu lilyusra | فسنيسره لليسرى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو ہم عنقریب اسے آسانی (یعنی رضائے الٰہی) کے لئے سہولت فراہم کر دیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss.
| ||||||
| Words | |فسنيسره - Then We will ease him| لليسرى - towards [the] ease.| | ||||||
| 8. [92:8] | Waamma man bakhila waistaghna | وأما من بخل واستغنى وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس نے بخل کیا اور (راہِ حق میں مال خرچ کرنے سے) بے پروا رہا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient,
| ||||||
| Words | |وأما - But as for| من - (him) who| بخل - withholds| واستغنى - and considers himself free from need,| | ||||||
| 9. [92:9] | Wakaththaba bialhusna | وكذب بالحسنى وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس نے (یوں) اچھائی (یعنی دینِ حق اور آخرت) کو جھٹلایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And gives the lie to the best,-
| ||||||
| Words | |وكذب - And denies| بالحسنى - the best,| | ||||||
| 10. [92:10] | Fasanuyassiruhu lilAAusra | فسنيسره للعسرى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو ہم عنقریب اسے سختی (یعنی عذاب کی طرف بڑھنے) کے لئے سہولت فراہم کر دیں گے (تاکہ وہ تیزی سے مستحقِ عذاب ٹھہرے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery;
| ||||||
| Words | |فسنيسره - Then We will ease him| للعسرى - towards [the] difficulty.| | ||||||
| 11. [92:12] | Inna AAalayna lalhuda | إن علينا للهدى إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک راہِ (حق) دکھانا ہمارے ذمہ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide,
| ||||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| علينا - upon Us| للهدى - (is) the guidance.| | ||||||
| 12. [92:13] | Wa-inna lana lal-akhirata waal-oola | وإن لنا للآخرة والأولى وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم ہی آخرت اور دنیا کے مالک ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning.
| ||||||
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| لنا - for Us| للآخرة - (is) the Hereafter| والأولى - and the first (life).| | ||||||
| 13. [92:14] | Faanthartukum naran talaththa | فأنذرتكم نارا تلظى فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو میں نے تمہیں (دوزخ کی) آگ سے ڈرا دیا ہے جو بھڑک رہی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely;
| ||||||
| Words | |فأنذرتكم - So I warn you| نارا - (of) a Fire| تلظى - blazing,| | ||||||
| 14. [92:11] | Wama yughnee AAanhu maluhu ithataradda | وما يغني عنه ماله إذا تردى وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس کا مال اس کے کسی کام نہیں آئے گا جب وہ ہلاکت (کے گڑھے) میں گرے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit).
| ||||||
| Words | |وما - And not| يغني - will avail| عنه - him| ماله - his wealth| إذا - when| تردى - he falls.| | ||||||
| 15. [92:15] | La yaslaha illaal-ashqa | لا يصلاها إلا الأشقى لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس میں انتہائی بدبخت کے سوا کوئی داخل نہیں ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones
| ||||||
| Words | |لا - Not| يصلاها - will burn (in) it| إلا - except| الأشقى - the most wretched,| | ||||||
| 16. [92:16] | Allathee kaththaba watawalla | الذي كذب وتولى الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس نے (دینِ حق کو) جھٹلایا اور (رسول کی اطاعت سے) منہ پھیر لیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs.
| ||||||
| Words | |الذي - The one who| كذب - denied| وتولى - and turned away.| | ||||||
| 17. [92:17] | Wasayujannabuha al-atqa | وسيجنبها الأتقى وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس (آگ) سے اس بڑے پرہیزگار شخص کو بچا لیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,-
| ||||||
| Words | |وسيجنبها - But will be removed from it| الأتقى - the righteous,| | ||||||
| 18. [92:18] | Allathee yu/tee malahuyatazakka | الذي يؤتي ماله يتزكى الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو اپنا مال (اﷲ کی راہ میں) دیتا ہے کہ (اپنے جان و مال کی) پاکیزگی حاصل کرے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification,
| ||||||
| Words | |الذي - The one who| يؤتي - gives| ماله - his wealth| يتزكى - (to) purify himself,| | ||||||
| 19. [92:19] | Wama li-ahadin AAindahu minniAAmatin tujza | وما لأحد عنده من نعمة تجزى وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کسی کا اس پر کوئی احسان نہیں کہ جس کا بدلہ دیا جا رہا ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And have in their minds no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,
| ||||||
| Words | |وما - And not| لأحد - for anyone| عنده - with him| من - any| نعمة - favor| تجزى - to be recompensed| | ||||||
| 20. [92:20] | Illa ibtighaa wajhi rabbihial-aAAla | إلا ابتغاء وجه ربه الأعلى إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | مگر (وہ) صرف اپنے ربِ عظیم کی رضا جوئی کے لئے (مال خرچ کر رہا ہے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High;
| ||||||
| Words | |إلا - Except| ابتغاء - seeking| وجه - (the) Countenance| ربه - (of) his Lord,| الأعلى - the Most High.| | ||||||
| 21. [92:21] | Walasawfa yarda | ولسوف يرضى وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور عنقریب وہ (اﷲ کی عطا سے اور اﷲ اس کی وفا سے) راضی ہو جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction.
| ||||||
| Words | |ولسوف - And soon, surely| يرضى - he will be pleased.| | ||||||
