Wamina al-aAArabi man yattakhithuma yunfiqu maghraman wayatarabbasu bikumu alddawa-iraAAalayhim da-iratu alssaw-i waAllahusameeAAun AAaleemun ومن الأعراب من يتخذ ما ينفق مغرما ويتربص بكم الدوائر عليهم دائرة السوء والله سميع عليم
وَمِنَ الأَعْرَابِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ الدَّوَائِرَ عَلَيْهِمْ دَآئِرَةُ السَّوْءِ وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

  اور ان دیہاتی گنواروں میں سے وہ شخص (بھی) ہے جو اس (مال) کو تاوان قرار دیتا ہے جسے وہ (راہِ خدا میں) خرچ کرتا ہے اور تم پر زمانہ کی گردشوں (یعنی مصائب و آلام) کا انتظار کرتا رہتا ہے، (بَلا و مصیبت کی) بری گردش انہی پر ہے، اور اﷲ خوب سننے والا خوب جاننے والا ہے

Ahmed Aliاور بعض گنوار ایسے ہیں کہ جو کچھ خرچ کرتے ہیں اسے تاوان سمجھتے ہیں اور تم پر زمانہ کی گردشوں کا انتظار کرتے ہیں انہیں پر بری گردش آئے اور الله سننے والا جاننے والا ہے

Mehmood Al Hassanاور بعضے گنوار ایسے ہیں کہ شمار کرتے ہیں اپنے خرچ کرنے کو تاوان اور انتظار کرتے ہیں تم پر زمانہ کی گردشوں کا ان ہی پر آئے گردش بری اور اللہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے
Abul Ala Maududiان بدویوں میں ایسے ایسے لوگ موجود ہیں جو راہ خدا میں کچھ خرچ کرتے ہیں تو اسے اپنے اوپر زبردستی کی چٹی سمجھتے ہیں اور تمہارے حق میں زمانہ کی گردشوں کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں (کہ تم کسی چکر میں پھنسو تو وہ اپنی گردن سے اس نظام کی اطاعت کا قلادہ اتار پھینکیں جس میں تم نے انہیں کس دیا ہے) حالانکہ بدی کا چکر خود انہی پر مسلط ہے اور اللہ سب کچھ سنتا اور جانتا ہے

PickthalAnd of the wandering Arabs there is he who taketh that which he expendeth (for the cause of Allah) as a loss, and awaiteth (evil) turns of fortune for you (that he may be rid of it). The evil turn of fortune will be theirs. Allah is Hearer, Knower.
Arberry Some of the Bedouins take what they expend for a fine, and await the turns of fortune to go against you. Theirs shall be the evil turn; God is All-hearing, All-knowing.
ShakirAnd of the dwellers of the desert are those who take what they spend to be a fine, and they wait (the befalling of) calamities to you; on them (will be) the evil calamity; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
SarwarWhatever some of the desert dwelling Arabs spend for the cause of God, they consider it a loss to themselves. They wish to see you in trouble. Trouble has struck them already. God is All-hearing and All-knowing.
H/K/SaheehAnd among the bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune. Upon them will be a misfortune of evil. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
MalikSome of the desert Arabs look upon whatever they spend in the way of Allah as a penalty and wait for some misfortune to befall you. May misfortune befall them! Allah hears all and knows all.[98]
Maulana Ali**And of the dwellers of the desert are those who take what they spend to be a fine, and they wait for an evil turn of fortune for you. On them is the evil turn. And Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
Free MindsAnd from the Nomads are some who look upon what they spend as a fine, and wait for misfortune upon you. They will have the misfortune of evil, and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.
Qaribullah Some Arabs (Banu Asad and Ghatfan tribes) regard what they spend as a (compulsory) fine and wait for some misfortune to befall you. Theirs shall be the evil turn! Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
George SaleOf the Arabs of the desert there is who reckoneth that which he expendeth for the service of God, to be as tribute; and waiteth that some change of fortune may befall you. A change for evil shall happen unto them; for God both heareth and knoweth.

Khalifa**Some Arabs consider their spending (in the cause of God) to be a loss, and even wait in anticipation that a disaster may hit you. It is they who will incur the worst disaster. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.
Hilali/Khan**And of the bedouins there are some who look upon what they spend (in Allahs Cause) as a fine and watch for calamities for you, on them be the calamity of evil. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
QXP Shabbir Ahemd**Among these Bedouin Arabs is he who looks upon his spending as a penalty, and awaits a disaster to hit you. (They hope for the Divine Order to collapse). It is they who invite disaster upon themselves. Allah is Hearer, Knower.
