Wa-itha tutla AAalayhim ayatunaqaloo qad samiAAna law nashao laqulnamithla hatha in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا قالوا قد سمعنا لو نشاء لقلنا مثل هذا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين
وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا قَالُواْ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَـذَا إِنْ هَـذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ

  اور جب ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں (تو) وہ کہتے ہیں: بیشک ہم نے سن لیا اگر ہم چاہیں تو ہم بھی اس (کلام) کے مثل کہہ سکتے ہیں یہ تو اگلوں کی (خیالی) داستانوں کے سوا (کچھ بھی) نہیں ہے

Yousuf AliWhen Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

Mehmood Al Hassanاور جب کوئی پڑھے ان پر ہماری آیتیں تو کہیں ہم سن چکے اگر ہم چاہیں تو ہم بھی کہہ لیں ایسا یہ تو کچھ بھی نہیں مگر احوال ہیں اگلوں کے
Abul Ala Maududiجب ان کو ہماری آیات سنائی جاتی تھیں تو کہتے تھے کہ “ہاں سُن لیا ہم نے، ہم چاہیں تو ایسی ہی باتیں ہم بھی بنا سکتے ہیں، یہ تو وہی پُرانی کہانیاں ہیں جو پہلے سے لوگ کہتے چلے آ رہے ہیں "
