Waman yuwallihim yawma-ithin duburahuilla mutaharrifan liqitalin aw mutahayyizanila fi-atin faqad baa bighadabin mina Allahiwama/wahu jahannamu wabi/sa almaseeru ومن يولهم يومئذ دبره إلا متحرفا لقتال أو متحيزا إلى فئة فقد باء بغضب من الله ومأواه جهنم وبئس المصير
وَمَن يُوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ دُبُرَهُ إِلاَّ مُتَحَرِّفاً لِّقِتَالٍ أَوْ مُتَحَيِّزاً إِلَى فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَاءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللّهِ وَمَأْوَاهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ

  اور جو شخص اس دن ان سے پیٹھ پھیرے گا، سوائے اس کے جو جنگ (ہی) کے لئے کوئی داؤ چل رہا ہو یا اپنے (ہی) کسی لشکر سے (تعاون کے لئے) ملنا چاہتا ہو، تو واقعتاً وہ اللہ کے غضب کے ساتھ پلٹا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے، اور وہ (بہت ہی) برا ٹھکانا ہے

Yousuf AliIf any do turn his back to them on such a day - unless it be in a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own)- he draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and his abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)!

Ahmed Aliاور جو کوئی اس دن ان سے پیٹھ پھیرے گا مگر یہ کہ لڑائی کا ہنر کرتا ہو یا فوج میں جا ملتا ہو سو وہ الله کا غضب لے کر پھرا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے اور بہت برا ٹھکانا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khanاور جو اس دن انہیں پیٹھ دے گا مگر لڑائی کا ہنرَ کرنے یا اپنی جماعت میں جاملنے کو، تو وہ اللہ کے غضب میں پلٹا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے، اور کیا بری جگہ ہے پلٹنے کی،
Shabbir Ahmed اور جو پھیرے گا اُن کے سامنے اُس دن پیٹھ سوائے اس کے کہ چال چلنا چاہتا ہو جنگ کے لیے یا جاملنا چاہتا ہو کسی (دوسری) فوج سے تو وہ گھِر جائے گا غضب میں اللہ کے اور ٹھکانا ہوگا اس کا جہنّم جو بہت ہی بُرا ہے ٹھکانا۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور جو شخص جنگ کے روز اس صورت کے سوا کہ لڑائی کے لیے کنارے کنارے چلے (یعنی حکمت عملی سے دشمن کو مارے) یا اپنی فوج میں جا ملنا چاہے۔ ان سے پیٹھ پھیرے گا تو (سمجھو کہ) وہ خدا کے غضب میں گرفتار ہوگیا اور اس کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے۔ اور وہ بہت ہی بری جگہ ہے
Mehmood Al Hassanاور جو کوئی ان سے پھیرے پیٹھ اس دن مگر یہ کہ ہنر کرتا ہو لڑائی کا یا جا ملتا ہو فوج میں سو وہ پھرا اللہ کا غضب لے کر اور اس کا ٹھکانہ دوزخ ہے اور وہ کیا برا ٹھکانہ ہے
Abul Ala Maududiجس نے ایسے موقع پر پیٹھ پھیری، الا یہ کہ جنگی چال کے طور پر ایسا کرے یا کسی دُوسری فوج سے جا ملنے کے لیے، تو وہ اللہ کے غضب میں گھِر جائے گا، اُس کا ٹھکانہ جہنم ہوگا، اور وہ بہت بُری جائے بازگشت ہے

ShakirAnd whoever shall turn his back to them on that day-- unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company-- then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell; and an evil destination shall it be.
Sarwar(Whoever deserts the believers) will incur the wrath of God and will dwell in hell, a terrible dwelling.
H/K/SaheehAnd whoever turns his back to them on such a day, unless swerving [as a strategy] for war or joining [another] company, has certainly returned with anger [upon him] from Allah, and his refuge is Hell and wretched is the destination.
Malikand whoever turns his back to them on such an occasion - unless it be a strategy of war, or to join towards a detachment - shall incur the wrath of Allah and his abode shall be hell, and how awful shall be that dwelling![16]

Free MindsAnd whoever on that day flees from them; unless it is part of the battle strategy or if he is retreating back to his group; then he has drawn God's wrath upon him, and his abode will be Hell. What a miserable destiny.
Qaribullah If anyone on that day turns his back to them in flight, except when maneuvering to fight, or to join another party, he shall be laden with the Anger of Allah and Gehenna shall be his refuge an evil arrival.
