| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [8:61] | Wa-in janahoo lilssalmi faijnahlaha watawakkal AAala Allahi innahu huwa alssameeAAualAAaleemu |  وإن جنحوا للسلم فاجنح لها وتوكل على الله إنه هو السميع العليموَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر وہ (کفار) صلح کے لئے جھکیں تو آپ بھی اس کی طرف مائل ہوجائیں اور اللہ پر بھروسہ رکھیں۔ بیشک وہی خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things).

[8:62] | Wa-in yureedoo an yakhdaAAooka fa-inna hasbakaAllahu huwa allathee ayyadaka binasrihi wabialmu/mineena | وإن يريدوا أن يخدعوك فإن حسبك الله هو الذي أيدك بنصره وبالمؤمنين وَإِن يُرِيدُواْ أَن يَخْدَعُوكَ فَإِنَّ حَسْبَكَ اللّهُ هُوَ الَّذِي أَيَّدَكَ بِنَصْرِهِ وَبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر وہ چاہیں کہ آپ کو دھوکہ دیں تو بیشک آپ کے لئے اللہ کافی ہے، وہی ہے جس نے آپ کو اپنی مدد کے ذریعے اور اہلِ ایمان کے ذریعے طاقت بخشی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Should they intend to deceive thee,- verily Allah sufficeth thee: He it is That hath strengthened thee with His aid and with (the company of) the Believers;

[8:60] | WaaAAiddoo lahum ma istataAAtummin quwwatin wamin ribati alkhayli turhiboona bihiAAaduwwa Allahi waAAaduwwakum waakhareena mindoonihim la taAAlamoonahumu Allahu yaAAlamuhum wamatunfiqoo min shay-in fee sabeeli Allahi yuwaffa ilaykumwaantum la tuthlamoona | وأعدوا لهم ما استطعتم من قوة ومن رباط الخيل ترهبون به عدو الله وعدوكم وآخرين من دونهم لا تعلمونهم الله يعلمهم وما تنفقوا من شيء في سبيل الله يوف إليكم وأنتم لا تظلمون وَأَعِدُّواْ لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِن دُونِهِمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَيْءٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تُظْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اے مسلمانو!) ان کے (مقابلے کے) لئے تم سے جس قدر ہو سکے (ہتھیاروں اور آلاتِ جنگ کی) قوت مہیا کر رکھو اور بندھے ہوئے گھوڑوں کی (کھیپ بھی) اس (دفاعی تیاری) سے تم اللہ کے دشمن اور اپنے دشمن کو ڈراتے رہو اور ان کے سوا دوسروں کو بھی جن (کی چھپی دشمنی) کو تم نہیں جانتے، اللہ انہیں جانتا ہے، اور تم جو کچھ (بھی) اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ کرو گے تمہیں اس کا پورا پورا بدلہ دیا جائے گا اور تم سے ناانصافی نہ کی جائے گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.

[8:63] | Waallafa bayna quloobihim law anfaqta mafee al-ardi jameeAAan ma allafta bayna quloobihimwalakinna Allaha allafa baynahum innahu AAazeezun hakeemun | وألف بين قلوبهم لو أنفقت ما في الأرض جميعا ما ألفت بين قلوبهم ولكن الله ألف بينهم إنه عزيز حكيم وَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ لَوْ أَنفَقْتَ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعاً مَّا أَلَّفَتْ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ أَلَّفَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِنَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اسی نے) ان (مسلمانوں) کے دلوں میں باہمی الفت پیدا فرما دی۔ اگر آپ وہ سب کچھ جو زمین میں ہے خرچ کر ڈالتے تو (ان تمام مادی وسائل سے) بھی آپ ان کے دلوں میں (یہ) الفت پیدا نہ کر سکتے لیکن اللہ نے ان کے درمیان (ایک روحانی رشتے سے) محبت پیدا فرما دی۔ بیشک وہ بڑے غلبہ والا حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And (moreover) He hath put affection between their hearts: not if thou hadst spent all that is in the earth, couldst thou have produced that affection, but Allah hath done it: for He is Exalted in might, Wise.

| 5. [8:64] | Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu hasbukaAllahu wamani ittabaAAaka mina almu/mineena | يا أيها النبي حسبك الله ومن اتبعك من المؤمنين يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَسْبُكَ اللّهُ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے نبئ (معّظم!) آپ کے لئے اللہ کافی ہے اور وہ مسلمان جنہوں نے آپ کی پیروی اختیار کرلی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O Prophet! sufficient unto thee is Allah,- (unto thee) and unto those who follow thee among the Believers.

[8:65] | Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu harridialmu/mineena AAala alqitali in yakun minkumAAishroona sabiroona yaghliboo mi-atayni wa-in yakunminkum mi-atun yaghliboo alfan mina allatheena kafaroobi-annahum qawmun la yafqahoona | يا أيها النبي حرض المؤمنين على القتال إن يكن منكم عشرون صابرون يغلبوا مائتين وإن يكن منكم مائة يغلبوا ألفا من الذين كفروا بأنهم قوم لا يفقهون يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ حَرِّضِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى الْقِتَالِ إِن يَكُن مِّنكُمْ عِشْرُونَ صَابِرُونَ يَغْلِبُواْ مِئَتَيْنِ وَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُم مِّئَةٌ يَغْلِبُواْ أَلْفًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لاَّ يَفْقَهُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے نبئ (مکرّم!) آپ ایمان والوں کو جہاد کی ترغیب دیں (یعنی حق کی خاطر لڑنے پر آمادہ کریں)، اگر تم میں سے (جنگ میں) بیس (20) ثابت قدم رہنے والے ہوں تو وہ دو سو (200) (کفار) پر غالب آئیں گے اور اگر تم میں سے (ایک) سو (ثابت قدم) ہوں گے تو کافروں میں سے (ایک) ہزار پر غالب آئیں گے اس وجہ سے کہ وہ (آخرت اور اس کے اجرِ عظیم کی) سمجھ نہیں رکھتے (سو وہ اس قدر جذبہ و شوق سے نہیں لڑ سکتے جس قدر وہ مومن جو اپنی جانوں کا جنت اور اللہ کی رضا کے عوض سودا کر چکے ہیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers: for these are a people without understanding.

[8:66] | Al-ana khaffafa Allahu AAankumwaAAalima anna feekum daAAfan fa-in yakun minkum mi-atun sabiratunyaghliboo mi-atayni wa-in yakun minkum alfun yaghliboo alfaynibi-ithni Allahi waAllahu maAAa alssabireena | الآن خفف الله عنكم وعلم أن فيكم ضعفا فإن يكن منكم مائة صابرة يغلبوا مائتين وإن يكن منكم ألف يغلبوا ألفين بإذن الله والله مع الصابرين الْآنَ خَفَّفَ اللّهُ عَنكُمْ وَعَلِمَ أَنَّ فِيكُمْ ضَعْفًا فَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُم مِّئَةٌ صَابِرَةٌ يَغْلِبُواْ مِئَتَيْنِ وَإِن يَكُن مِّنكُمْ أَلْفٌ يَغْلِبُواْ أَلْفَيْنِ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَاللّهُ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اب اللہ نے تم سے (اپنے حکم کا بوجھ) ہلکا کر دیا اسے معلوم ہے کہ تم میں (کسی قدر) کمزوری ہے سو (اب تخفیف کے بعد حکم یہ ہے کہ) اگر تم میں سے (ایک) سو (آدمی) ثابت قدم رہنے والے ہوں (تو) وہ دو سو (کفار) پر غالب آئیں گے اور اگر تم میں سے (ایک) ہزار ہوں تو وہ اللہ کے حکم سے دو ہزار (کافروں) پر غالب آئیں گے، اور اللہ صبر کرنے والوں کے ساتھ ہے (یہ مومنوں کے لئے ہدف ہے کہ میدانِ جہاد میں ان کے جذبۂ ایمانی کا اثر کم سے کم یہ ہونا چاہیئے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For the present, Allah hath lightened your (task), for He knoweth that there is a weak spot in you: But (even so), if there are a hundred of you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred, and if a thousand, they will vanquish two thousand, with the leave of Allah: for Allah is with those who patiently persevere.

| 8. [8:68] | Lawla kitabun mina Allahisabaqa lamassakum feema akhathtum AAathabunAAatheemun | لولا كتاب من الله سبق لمسكم فيما أخذتم عذاب عظيم لَّوْلاَ كِتَابٌ مِّنَ اللّهِ سَبَقَ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِيمَا أَخَذْتُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اگر اللہ کی طرف سے پہلے ہی (معافی کا حکم) لکھا ہوا نہ ہوتا تو یقیناً تم کو اس (مال فدیہ کے بارے) میں جو تم نے (بدر کے قیدیوں سے) حاصل کیا تھا بڑا عذاب پہنچتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Had it not been for a previous ordainment from Allah, a severe penalty would have reached you for the (ransom) that ye took.

[8:67] | Ma kana linabiyyin an yakoonalahu asra hatta yuthkhina fee al-arditureedoona AAarada alddunya waAllahuyureedu al-akhirata waAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun | ما كان لنبي أن يكون له أسرى حتى يثخن في الأرض تريدون عرض الدنيا والله يريد الآخرة والله عزيز حكيم مَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُ أَسْرَى حَتَّى يُثْخِنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ تُرِيدُونَ عَرَضَ الدُّنْيَا وَاللّهُ يُرِيدُ الْآخِرَةَ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کسی نبی کو یہ سزاوار نہیں کہ اس کے لئے (کافر) قیدی ہوں جب تک کہ وہ زمین میں ان (حربی کافروں) کا اچھی طرح خون نہ بہا لے۔ تم لوگ دنیا کا مال و اسباب چاہتے ہو، اور اللہ آخرت کی (بھلائی) چاہتا ہے، اور اللہ خوب غالب حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is not fitting for a prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he hath thoroughly subdued the land. Ye look for the temporal goods of this world; but Allah looketh to the Hereafter: And Allah is Exalted in might, Wise.

| 10. [8:69] | Fakuloo mimma ghanimtum halalantayyiban waittaqoo Allaha inna Allahaghafoorun raheemun | فكلوا مما غنمتم حلالا طيبا واتقوا الله إن الله غفور رحيم فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا غَنِمْتُمْ حَلاَلاً طَيِّبًا وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ إِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو تم اس میں سے کھاؤ جو حلال، پاکیزہ مالِ غنیمت تم نے پایا ہے اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو، بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But (now) enjoy what ye took in war, lawful and good: but fear Allah: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

[8:70] | Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyuqul liman fee aydeekum mina al-asra in yaAAlami Allahufee quloobikum khayran yu/tikum khayran mimma okhithaminkum wayaghfir lakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun | يا أيها النبي قل لمن في أيديكم من الأسرى إن يعلم الله في قلوبكم خيرا يؤتكم خيرا مما أخذ منكم ويغفر لكم والله غفور رحيم يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّمَن فِي أَيْدِيكُم مِّنَ الْأَسْرَى إِن يَعْلَمِ اللّهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ خَيْرًا يُؤْتِكُمْ خَيْرًا مِّمَّا أُخِذَ مِنكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے نبی! آپ ان سے جو آپ کے ہاتھوں میں قیدی ہیں فرما دیجئے: اگر اللہ نے تمہارے دلوں میں بھلائی جان لی تو تمہیں اس (مال) سے بہتر عطا فرمائے گا جو (فدیہ میں) تم سے لیا جا چکا ہے اور تمہیں بخش دے گا، اور اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O Prophet! say to those who are captives in your hands: "If Allah findeth any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and He will forgive you: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful."

| 12. [8:71] | Wa-in yureedoo khiyanataka faqad khanooAllaha min qablu faamkana minhum waAllahuAAaleemun hakeemun | وإن يريدوا خيانتك فقد خانوا الله من قبل فأمكن منهم والله عليم حكيم وَإِن يُرِيدُواْ خِيَانَتَكَ فَقَدْ خَانُواْ اللّهَ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَمْكَنَ مِنْهُمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اے محبوب!) اگر وہ آپ سے خیانت کرنا چاہیں تو یقیناً وہ اس سے قبل (بھی) اللہ سے خیانت کر چکے ہیں سو (اسی وجہ سے) اس نے ان میں سے بعض کو (آپ کی) قدرت میں دے دیا، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But if they have treacherous designs against thee, (O Messenger!), they have already been in treason against Allah, and so hath He given (thee) power over them. And Allah so He Who hath (full) knowledge and wisdom.

[8:73] | Waallatheena kafaroo baAAduhumawliyao baAAdin illa tafAAaloohu takunfitnatun fee al-ardi wafasadun kabeerun | والذين كفروا بعضهم أولياء بعض إلا تفعلوه تكن فتنة في الأرض وفساد كبير وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ إِلاَّ تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُن فِتْنَةٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَبِيرٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ کافر ہیں وہ ایک دوسرے کے مددگار ہیں، (اے مسلمانو!) اگر تم (ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ) ایسا (تعاون اور مدد و نصرت) نہیں کرو گے تو زمین میں (غلبۂ کفر و باطل کا) فتنہ اور بڑا فساد بپا ہو جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Unbelievers are protectors, one of another: Unless ye do this, (protect each other), there would be tumult and oppression on earth, and great mischief.

[8:74] | Waallatheena amanoo wahajaroowajahadoo fee sabeeli Allahi waallatheenaawaw wanasaroo ola-ika humu almu/minoona haqqanlahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun | والذين آمنوا وهاجروا وجاهدوا في سبيل الله والذين آووا ونصروا أولئك هم المؤمنون حقا لهم مغفرة ورزق كريم وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَاهَدُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَالَّذِينَ آوَواْ وَّنَصَرُواْ أُولَـئِكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ حَقًّا لَّهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے ہجرت کی اور اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کیا اور جن لوگوں نے (راہِ خدا میں گھر بار اور وطن قربان کر دینے والوں کو) جگہ دی اور (ان کی) مدد کی، وہی لوگ حقیقت میں سچے مسلمان ہیں، ان ہی کے لئے بخشش اور عزت کی روزی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who believe, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith, in the cause of Allah as well as those who give (them) asylum and aid,- these are (all) in very truth the Believers: for them is the forgiveness of sins and a provision most generous.

[8:75] | Waallatheena amanoo minbaAAdu wahajaroo wajahadoo maAAakum faola-ikaminkum waoloo al-arhami baAAduhum awlabibaAAdin fee kitabi Allahi inna Allahabikulli shay-in AAaleemun | والذين آمنوا من بعد وهاجروا وجاهدوا معكم فأولئك منكم وأولو الأرحام بعضهم أولى ببعض في كتاب الله إن الله بكل شيء عليم وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مِن بَعْدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَاهَدُواْ مَعَكُمْ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ مِنكُمْ وَأُوْلُواْ الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللّهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ اس کے بعد ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے راہِ حق میں (قربانی دیتے ہوئے) گھر بار چھوڑ دیئے اور تمہارے ساتھ مل کر جہاد کیا تو وہ لوگ (بھی) تم ہی میں سے ہیں، اور رشتہ دار اللہ کی کتاب میں (صلہ رحمی اور وراثت کے لحاظ سے) ایک دوسرے کے زیادہ حق دار ہیں، بیشک اللہ ہر چیز کو خوب جاننے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And those who accept Faith subsequently, and adopt exile, and fight for the Faith in your company,- they are of you. But kindred by blood have prior rights against each other in the Book of Allah. Verily Allah is well-acquainted with all things.
