| Tahir ul Qadri | اور میں قسم کھاتا ہوں (برائیوں پر) ملامت کرنے والے نفس کی | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil).

| 3. [75:3] | Ayahsabu al-insanu allannajmaAAa AAithamahu | ايحسب الانسان الن نجمع عظامه أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَلَّن نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا انسان یہ خیال کرتا ہے کہ ہم اُس کی ہڈیوں کو (جو مرنے کے بعد ریزہ ریزہ ہو کر بکھر جائیں گی) ہرگز اِکٹھا نہ کریں گے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?

| |ايحسب - null| الانسان - the human/the mankind | الن - now | نجمع - we gather/we collect/we unite | عظامه - his bones | | |||||
| 4. [75:4] | Bala qadireena AAala annusawwiya bananahu | بلي قادرين علي ان نسوي بنانه بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیوں نہیں! ہم تو اس بات پر بھی قادر ہیں کہ اُس کی اُنگلیوں کے ایک ایک جوڑ اور پوروں تک کو درست کر دیں | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.

| 5. [75:5] | Bal yureedu al-insanu liyafjura amamahu | بل يريد الانسان ليفجر امامه بَلْ يُرِيدُ الْإِنسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ انسان یہ چاہتا ہے کہ اپنے آگے (کی زندگی میں) بھی گناہ کرتا رہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.

| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ (بہ اَندازِ تمسخر) پوچھتا ہے کہ قیامت کا دن کب ہوگا | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?"

| |يسال - he be asked/he be questioned/to be asked/to be questioned/be asked/be questioned | ايان - when | يوم - day/a day/24 hour day/time between sunrise and sunset/time | القيامة - null| | |||||
| 7. [75:7] | Fa-itha bariqa albasaru | فاذا برق البصر فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جب آنکھیں چوندھیا جائیں گی | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | At length, when the sight is dazed,
| ||||
| |فاذا - so if/so where/so when/so then | برق - lightened/gleamed/glared/confused and astonished/lightning | البصر - the eye sight/the knowledge | | |||||
| 8. [75:8] | Wakhasafa alqamaru | وخسف القمر وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور چاند (اپنی) روشنی کھو دے گا | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the moon is buried in darkness.

| 9. [75:9] | WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaru | وجمع الشمس والقمر وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور سورج اور چاند اِکٹھے (بے نور) ہو جائیں گے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the sun and moon are joined together,-
| ||||

| 10. [75:10] | Yaqoolu al-insanu yawma-ithinayna almafarru | يقول الانسان يومئذ اين المفر يَقُولُ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُس وقت انسان پکار اٹھے گا کہ بھاگ جانے کا ٹھکانا کہاں ہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"
| ||||
| |يقول - null| الانسان - the human/the mankind | يومئذ - null| اين - where | المفر - null| | |||||
| 11. [75:11] | Kalla la wazara | كلا لا وزر كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ہرگز نہیں! کوئی جائے پناہ نہیں ہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | By no means! No place of safety!
| ||||
| |كلا - you (b) eat | لا - no| وزر - shelter/protective mountain/hiding place | | |||||
| 12. [75:12] | Ila rabbika yawma-ithinalmustaqarru | الي ربك يومئذ المستقر إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُس دن آپ کے رب ہی کے پاس قرارگاہ ہوگی | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest.
| ||||
| |الي - was the -- thrown/is the -- thrown | ربك - your (s/m) lord | يومئذ - null| المستقر - null| | |||||
| 13. [75:13] | Yunabbao al-insanu yawma-ithinbima qaddama waakhkhara | ينبا الانسان يومئذ بما قدم واخر يُنَبَّؤُاْ الْإِنسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُس دن اِنسان اُن (اَعمال) سے خبردار کیا جائے گا جو اُس نے آگے بھیجے تھے اور جو (اَثرات اپنی موت کے بعد) پیچھے چھوڑے تھے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back.
| ||||
| |ينبا - get informed/he get informed/ informs | الانسان - the human/the mankind | يومئذ - null| بما - with | قدم - null| واخر - null| | |||||
| 14. [75:14] | Bali al-insanu AAala nafsihibaseeratun | بل الانسان علي نفسه بصيرة بَلِ الْإِنسَانُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ اِنسان اپنے (اَحوالِ) نفس پر (خود ہی) آگاہ ہوگا | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay, man will be evidence against himself,
| ||||
| |بل - but/no/rather/not only but (prep. changes from one meaning to another) | الانسان - the human/the mankind | علي - are| نفسه - null| بصيرة - null| | |||||
| 15. [75:15] | Walaw alqa maAAatheerahu | ولو القي معاذيره وَلَوْ أَلْقَى مَعَاذِيرَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اگرچہ وہ اپنے تمام عذر پیش کرے گا | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Even though he were to put up his excuses.
| ||||
| |ولو - null| القي - null| معاذيره - null| | |||||
| 16. [75:16] | La tuharrik bihi lisanakalitaAAjala bihi | لا تحرك به لسانك لتعجل به لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیب!) آپ (قرآن کو یاد کرنے کی) جلدی میں (نزولِ وحی کے ساتھ) اپنی زبان کو حرکت نہ دیا کریں | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith.
| ||||
| |لا - no| تحرك - move/avoid your (s/m) duty/avoid the truth owed by you | به - with him/with it | لسانك - your (s/m) tongue | لتعجل - null| به - with him/with it | | |||||
| 17. [75:17] | Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waqur-anahu | ان علينا جمعه وقرانه إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک اسے (آپ کے سینہ میں) جمع کرنا اور اسے (آپ کی زبان سے) پڑھانا ہمارا ذِمّہ ہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:

| |ان - that| علينا - |¥wK - Ä|Ì¥ÒwÒK made false statements on us/(made false statements on our behalf) | جمعه - null| وقرانه - null| | |||||
| 18. [75:18] | Fa-itha qara/nahu faittabiAAqur-anahu | فاذا قراناه فاتبع قرانه فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جب ہم اسے (زبانِ جبریل سے) پڑھ چکیں تو آپ اس پڑھے ہوئے کی پیروی کیا کریں | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated):

| |فاذا - so if/so where/so when/so then | قراناه - we read it | فاتبع - so follow | قرانه - its reading/its gathering and collection/its recitation (silent or aloud) | | |||||
| 19. [75:19] | Thumma inna AAalayna bayanahu | ثم ان علينا بيانه ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر بے شک اس (کے معانی) کا کھول کر بیان کرنا ہمارا ہی ذِمّہ ہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):

| |ثم - null| ان - that| علينا - |¥wK - Ä|Ì¥ÒwÒK made false statements on us/(made false statements on our behalf) | بيانه - its clarification/its explanation | | |||||
| 20. [75:20] | Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajilata | كلا بل تحبون العاجلة كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | حقیقت یہ ہے (اے کفّار!) تم جلد ملنے والی (دنیا) کو محبوب رکھتے ہو | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life,
| ||||
| |كلا - you (b) eat | بل - but/no/rather/not only but (prep. changes from one meaning to another) | تحبون - you (p) love/you -- like/you -- loving/you -- liking | العاجلة - null| | |||||
| 21. [75:21] | Watatharoona al-akhirata | وتذرون الاخرة وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم آخرت کو چھوڑے ہوئے ہو | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And leave alone the Hereafter.

| 22. [75:22] | Wujoohun yawma-ithin nadiratun | وجوه يومئذ ناضرة وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بہت سے چہرے اُس دن شگفتہ و تروتازہ ہوں گے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);-
| ||||
| |وجوه - faces/fronts | يومئذ - null| ناضرة - null| | |||||
| 23. [75:23] | Ila rabbiha nathiratun | الي ربها ناظرة إِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (بلا حجاب) اپنے رب (کے حسن و جمال) کو تک رہے ہوں گے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Looking towards their Lord;
| ||||
| |الي - was the -- thrown/is the -- thrown | ربها - her lord/its lord | ناظرة - null| | |||||
| 24. [75:24] | Wawujoohun yawma-ithin basiratun | ووجوه يومئذ باسرة وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کتنے ہی چہرے اُس دن بگڑی ہوئی حالت میں (مایوس اور سیاہ) ہوں گے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal,
| ||||
| |ووجوه - null| يومئذ - null| باسرة - null| | |||||
| 25. [75:25] | Tathunnu an yufAAala bihafaqiratun | تظن ان يفعل بها فاقرة تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ گمان کرتے ہوں گے کہ اُن کے ساتھ ایسی سختی کی جائے گی جو اُن کی کمر توڑ دے گی | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them;
| ||||
| |تظن - thinks/assumes/supposes/doubts/ suspects/think/assume/suppose/ doubt/suspect | ان - that| يفعل - null| بها - with her/by her/with it/by it | فاقرة - null| | |||||
| 26. [75:26] | Kalla itha balaghati alttaraqiya | كلا اذا بلغت التراقي كَلَّا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | نہیں نہیں، جب جان گلے تک پہنچ جائے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit),
| ||||
| |كلا - you (b) eat | اذا - then/therefore | بلغت - null| التراقي - the collar bones/the verge of death | | |||||
| 27. [75:27] | Waqeela man raqin | وقيل من راق وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کہا جا رہا ہو کہ (اِس وقت) کون ہے جھاڑ پھونک سے علاج کرنے والا (جس سے شفایابی کرائیں) | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?"
| ||||
| |وقيل - null| من - of| راق - ascending/elevating/advancing/ curing/(being saved/being rescued) | | |||||
| 28. [75:28] | Wathanna annahu alfiraqu | وظن انه الفراق وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (جان دینے والا) سمجھ لے کہ (اب سب سے) جدائی ہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting;

| 29. [75:29] | Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqi | والتفت الساق بالساق وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور پنڈلی سے پنڈلی لپٹنے لگے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | And one leg will be joined with another:

| |والتفت - null| الساق - the shin/the leg/the hardship/the severity | بالساق - with the shin/with the leg/with the hardship/with the severity | | |||||
| 30. [75:30] | Ila rabbika yawma-ithin almasaqu | الي ربك يومئذ المساق إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ | |||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو اس دن آپ کے رب کی طرف جانا ہوتا ہے | ||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord!

| |الي - was the -- thrown/is the -- thrown | ربك - your (s/m) lord | يومئذ - null| المساق - the drive/the market/(the destination) | | |||||
