| Tahir ul Qadri | یا اس پر کچھ زیادہ کر دیں اور قرآن خوب ٹھہر ٹھہر کر پڑھا کریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Or a little more; and recite the Qur'an in slow, measured rhythmic tones.

| Yousuf Ali | Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message.

| 6. [73:6] | Inna nashi-ata allayli hiya ashaddu wat-anwaaqwamu qeelan | إن ناشئة الليل هي أشد وطئا وأقوم قيلا إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک رات کا اُٹھنا (نفس کو) سخت پامال کرتا ہے اور (دِل و دِماغ کی یک سُوئی کے ساتھ) زبان سے سیدھی بات نکالتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).

| Yousuf Ali | With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them),

[73:20] | Inna rabbaka yaAAlamu annaka taqoomu adnamin thuluthayi allayli wanisfahu wathuluthahu wata-ifatunmina allatheena maAAaka waAllahu yuqaddiruallayla waalnnahara AAalima an lan tuhsoohufataba AAalaykum faiqraoo ma tayassara minaalqur-ani AAalima an sayakoonu minkum marda waakharoonayadriboona fee al-ardi yabtaghoona min fadliAllahi waakharoona yuqatiloona fee sabeeliAllahi faiqraoo ma tayassara minhu waaqeemooalssalata waatoo alzzakatawaaqridoo Allaha qardan hasanan wamatuqaddimoo li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahihuwa khayran waaAAthama ajran waistaghfirooAllaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun | إن ربك يعلم أنك تقوم أدنى من ثلثي الليل ونصفه وثلثه وطائفة من الذين معك والله يقدر الليل والنهار علم أن لن تحصوه فتاب عليكم فاقرءوا ما تيسر من القرآن علم أن سيكون منكم مرضى وآخرون يضربون في الأرض يبتغون من فضل الله وآخرون يقاتلون في سبيل الله فاقرءوا ما تيسر منه وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وأقرضوا الله قرضا حسنا وما تقدموا لأنفسكم من خير تجدوه عند الله هو خيرا وأعظم أجرا واستغفروا الله إن الله غفور رحيم إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَى مِن ثُلُثَيِ اللَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُ وَثُلُثَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ مَعَكَ وَاللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَى وَآخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَآخَرُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَاقْرَؤُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک آپ کا رب جانتا ہے کہ آپ (کبھی) دو تہائی شب کے قریب اور (کبھی) نصف شب اور (کبھی) ایک تہائی شب (نماز میں) قیام کرتے ہیں، اور اُن لوگوں کی ایک جماعت (بھی) جو آپ کے ساتھ ہیں (قیام میں شریک ہوتی ہے)، اور اﷲ ہی رات اور دن (کے گھٹنے اور بڑھنے) کا صحیح اندازہ رکھتا ہے، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم ہرگز اُس کے اِحاطہ کی طاقت نہیں رکھتے، سو اُس نے تم پر (مشقت میں تخفیف کر کے) معافی دے دی، پس جتنا آسانی سے ہو سکے قرآن پڑھ لیا کرو، وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم میں سے (بعض لوگ) بیمار ہوں گے اور (بعض) دوسرے لوگ زمین میں سفر کریں گے تاکہ اﷲ کا فضل تلاش کریں اور (بعض) دیگر اﷲ کی راہ میں جنگ کریں گے، سو جتنا آسانی سے ہو سکے اُتنا (ہی) پڑھ لیا کرو، اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہو اور اﷲ کو قرضِ حسن دیا کرو، اور جو بھلائی تم اپنے لئے آگے بھیجو گے اُسے اﷲ کے حضور بہتر اور اَجر میں بزرگ تر پا لوگے، اور اﷲ سے بخشش طلب کرتے رہو، اﷲ بہت بخشنے والا بے حد رحم فرمانے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty; yet others fighting in Allah's Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan. And whatever good ye send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah's Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

| Words | |إن - Indeed,| ربك - your Lord| يعلم - knows| أنك - that you| تقوم - stand| أدنى - (a little) less| من - than| ثلثي - two-thirds| الليل - (of) the night,| ونصفه - and half of it| وثلثه - and a third of it| وطائفة - and (so do) a group| من - of| الذين - those who| معك - (are) with you.| والله - And Allah| يقدر - determines| الليل - the night| والنهار - and the day.| علم - He knows| أن - that| لن - not| تحصوه - you count it,| فتاب - so He has turned| عليكم - to you,| فاقرءوا - so recite| ما - what| تيسر - is easy| من - of| القرآن - the Quran.| علم - He knows| أن - that| سيكون - there will be| منكم - among you| مرضى - sick| وآخرون - and others| يضربون - traveling| في - in| الأرض - the land| يبتغون - seeking| من - of| فضل - (the) Bounty| الله - (of) Allah,| وآخرون - and others| يقاتلون - fighting| في - in| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah.| فاقرءوا - So recite| ما - what| تيسر - is easy| منه - of it,| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah| وأقرضوا - and loan| الله - Allah| قرضا - a loan| حسنا - goodly.| وما - And whatever| تقدموا - you send forth| لأنفسكم - for yourselves| من - of| خير - good,| تجدوه - you will find it| عند - with| الله - Allah.| هو - It| خيرا - (will be) better| وأعظم - and greater| أجرا - (in) reward.| واستغفروا - And seek forgiveness| الله - (of) Allah.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| غفور - (is) Oft-Forgiving,| رحيم - Most Merciful.| | ||||||
| 9. [73:7] | Inna laka fee alnnahari sabhantaweelan | إن لك في النهار سبحا طويلا إِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک آپ کے لئے دن میں بہت سی مصروفیات ہوتی ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties:

| 10. [73:8] | Waothkuri isma rabbikawatabattal ilayhi tabteelan | واذكر اسم ربك وتبتل إليه تبتيلا وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ اپنے رب کے نام کا ذِکر کرتے رہیں اور (اپنے قلب و باطن میں) ہر ایک سے ٹوٹ کر اُسی کے ہو رہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly.

| Words | |واذكر - And remember| اسم - (the) name| ربك - (of) your Lord| وتبتل - and devote yourself| إليه - to Him| تبتيلا - (with) devotion.| | ||||||
| 11. [73:9] | Rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi lailaha illa huwa faittakhithhu wakeelan | رب المشرق والمغرب لا إله إلا هو فاتخذه وكيلا رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ مشرق و مغرب کا مالک ہے، اُس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، سو اُسی کو (اپنا) کارساز بنا لیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs.

| 12. [73:10] | Waisbir AAala mayaqooloona waohjurhum hajran jameelan | واصبر على ما يقولون واهجرهم هجرا جميلا وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ ان (باتوں) پر صبر کریں جو کچھ وہ (کفار) کہتے ہیں، اور نہایت خوبصورتی کے ساتھ ان سے کنارہ کش ہو جائیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And have patience with what they say, and leave them with noble (dignity).

| 13. [73:11] | Watharnee waalmukaththibeenaolee alnnaAAmati wamahhilhum qaleelan | وذرني والمكذبين أولي النعمة ومهلهم قليلا وَذَرْنِي وَالْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ مجھے اور جھٹلانے والے سرمایہ داروں کو (اِنتقام لینے کے لئے) چھوڑ دیں اور انہیں تھوڑی سی مہلت دے دیں (تاکہ اُن کے اَعمالِ بد اپنی اِنتہاء کو پہنچ جائیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And leave Me (alone to deal with) those in possession of the good things of life, who (yet) deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while.

| Words | |وذرني - And leave Me| والمكذبين - and the deniers,| أولي - possessors| النعمة - (of) the ease,| ومهلهم - and allow them respite -| قليلا - a little.| | ||||||
| 14. [73:13] | WataAAaman tha ghussatinwaAAathaban aleeman | وطعاما ذا غصة وعذابا أليما وَطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور حلق میں اٹک جانے والا کھانا اور نہایت دردناک عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And a Food that chokes, and a Penalty Grievous.

| Words | |وطعاما - And food| ذا - that| غصة - chokes| وعذابا - and a punishment| أليما - painful.| | ||||||
| 15. [73:14] | Yawma tarjufu al-ardu waaljibaluwakanati aljibalu katheeban maheelan | يوم ترجف الأرض والجبال وكانت الجبال كثيبا مهيلا يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْأَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًا مَّهِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس دن زمین اورپہاڑ زور سے لرزنے لگیں گے اور پہاڑ بکھرتی ریت کے ٹیلے ہو جائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down.

| 16. [73:15] | Inna arsalna ilaykum rasoolanshahidan AAalaykum kama arsalna ilafirAAawna rasoolan | إنا أرسلنا إليكم رسولا شاهدا عليكم كما أرسلنا إلى فرعون رسولا إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھیجا ہے جو تم پر (اَحوال کا مشاہدہ فرما کر) گواہی دینے والا ہے، جیسا کہ ہم نے فرعون کی طرف ایک رسول کو بھیجا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh.

| 17. [73:16] | FaAAasa firAAawnu alrrasoolafaakhathnahu akhthan wabeelan | فعصى فرعون الرسول فأخذناه أخذا وبيلا فَعَصَى فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُ أَخْذًا وَبِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس فرعون نے اس رسول (علیہ السلام) کی نافرمانی کی، سو ہم نے اس کو ہلاکت انگیز گرفت میں پکڑ لیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment.

| Words | |فعصى - But disobeyed| فرعون - Firaun| الرسول - the Messenger,| فأخذناه - so We seized him| أخذا - (with) a seizure| وبيلا - ruinous.| | ||||||
| 18. [73:17] | Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum yawmanyajAAalu alwildana sheeban | فكيف تتقون إن كفرتم يوما يجعل الولدان شيبا فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيبًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اگر تم کفر کرتے رہو تو اُس دن (کے عذاب) سے کیسے بچو گے جو بچوں کو بوڑھا کردے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?-

| 19. [73:18] | Alssamao munfatirunbihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoolan | السماء منفطر به كان وعده مفعولا السَّمَاءُ مُنفَطِرٌ بِهِ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَفْعُولًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (جس دن کی) شدت کے باعث آسمان پھٹ جائے گا، اُس کا وعدہ پورا ہو کر رہے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished.

| Words | |السماء - The heaven| منفطر - (will) break apart| به - therefrom,| كان - is| وعده - His Promise| مفعولا - to be fulfilled.| | ||||||
| 20. [73:19] | Inna hathihi tathkiratun famanshaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi sabeelan | إن هذه تذكرة فمن شاء اتخذ إلى ربه سبيلا إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک یہ (قرآن) نصیحت ہے، پس جو شخص چاہے اپنے رب تک پہنچنے کا راستہ اِختیار کر لے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord!
