Waittakhatha qawmu moosamin baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarunalam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehimsabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena واتخذ قوم موسى من بعده من حليهم عجلا جسدا له خوار ألم يروا أنه لا يكلمهم ولا يهديهم سبيلا اتخذوه وكانوا ظالمين
وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَى مِن بَعْدِهِ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلاً جَسَدًا لَّهُ خُوَارٌ أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ أَنَّهُ لاَ يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلاَ يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلاً اتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُواْ ظَالِمِينَ

  اور موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کی قوم نے ان کے (کوہِ طور پر جانے کے) بعد اپنے زیوروں سے ایک بچھڑا بنا لیا (جو) ایک جسم تھا، اس کی آواز گائے کی تھی، کیا انہوں نے یہ نہیں دیکھا کہ وہ نہ ان سے بات کرسکتا ہے اور نہ ہی انہیں راستہ دکھا سکتا ہے۔ انہوں نے اسی کو (معبود) بنا لیا اور وہ ظالم تھے

Yousuf AliThe people of Moses made, in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of calf, (for worship): it seemed to low: did they not see that it could neither speak to them, nor show them the way? They took it for worship and they did wrong.

Ahmed Aliاور موسیٰ کی قوم نے اس کے بعد اپنے زیوروں سے بچھڑا بنا لیا ایک جسم تھا جس میں گائے کی آواز تھی کیا انہوں نے یہ نہ دیکھا کہ وہ ان سے بات بھی نہیں کرتا اور نہ ہی انہیں راہ بتاتا ہے اسے معبود بنا لیا اور وہ ظالم تھے
Ahmed Raza Khanاور موسیٰ کے بعد اس کی قوم اپنے زیوروں سے ایک بچھڑا بنا بیٹھی بے جان کا دھڑ گائے کی طرف آواز کرتا، کیا نہ دیکھا کہ وہ ان سے نہ بات کرتا ہے اور نہ انہیں کچھ راہ بتائے اسے لیا اور وہ ظالم تھے
Shabbir Ahmed اور بنالیا قومِ موسیٰ نے اس کے بعد اپنے زیورات سے بچھڑے کا پُتلا، جس میں (سے نکلتی) تھی بیل کی سی آواز۔ کیا نہیں دیکھتے تھے وہ کہ وہ نہ اُن سے بات کرتا ہے اور نہ دکھاتا ہے اُن کو کوئی راستہ۔ (پھر بھی) بنا لیا اُنہوں نے اُس کو (معبود) اور وہ تھے (خود ہی) ظلم کرنے والے۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور قوم موسیٰ نے موسیٰ کے بعد اپنے زیور کا ایک بچھڑا بنا لیا (وہ) ایک جسم (تھا) جس میں سے بیل کی آواز نکلتی تھی۔ ان لوگوں نے یہ نہ دیکھا کہ وہ نہ ان سے بات کرسکتا ہے اور نہ ان کو راستہ دکھا سکتا ہے۔ اس کو انہوں نے (معبود) بنالیا اور (اپنے حق میں) ظلم کیا
Mehmood Al Hassanاور بنا لیا موسٰی کی قوم نے اس کے پیچھے اپنے زیور سے بچھڑا ایک بدن کہ اسمیں گائے کی آواز تھی کیا انہوں نے یہ نہ دیکھا کہ وہ ان سے بات بھی نہیں کرتاا ور نہیں بتلاتا رستہ معبود بنا لیا اس کو اور وہ تھے ظالم
Abul Ala Maududiموسیٰؑ کے پیچھے اس کی قوم کے لوگوں نے اپنے زیوروں سے ایک بچھڑے کا پتلا بنا لیا جس میں سے بیل کی سی آواز نکلتی تھی کیا اُنہیں نظر نہ آتا تھا کہ وہ نہ ان سے بولتا ہے نہ کسی معاملہ میں ان کی رہنمائی کرتا ہے؟ مگر پھر بھی اُنہوں نے اسے معبود بنا لیا اور وہ سخت ظالم تھے

Arberry And the people of Moses took to them, after him, of their ornaments a Calf -- a mere body that lowed. Did they not see it spoke not to them, neither guided them upon any way? Yet they took it to them, and were evildoers.
ShakirAnd Musa's people made of their ornaments a calf after him, a (mere) body, which gave a mooing sound. What! could they not see that it did not speak to them nor guide them m the way? They took it (for worship) and they were unjust.
SarwarIn Moses' absence, his people manufactured a hollow sounding calf out of their ornaments. Could they not see that it could not speak to them or provide them with any guidance? They gained only evil by worshipping the calf.

Khalifa**During his absence, Moses' people made from their jewelry the statue of a calf, complete with the sound of a calf. Did they not see that it could not speak to them, or guide them in any path? They worshiped it, and thus turned wicked.
Hilali/Khan**And the people of Moosa (Moses) made in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of a calf (for worship). It had a sound (as if it was mooing). Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to the way? They took it for worship and they were Zalimoon (wrong-doers).
QXP Shabbir Ahemd**The people of Moses made up a calf out of their ornaments while Moses was on the Mount Sinai. They made it such that blowing into it produced a lowing sound. They didn't even see that it couldn't talk to them or show them any way. Still they chose it as a god, and thus wronged their own "Self".
