Fahal yanthuroona illaalssaAAata an ta/tiyahum baghtatan faqad jaaashratuha faanna lahum itha jaat-humthikrahum فهل ينظرون إلا الساعة أن تأتيهم بغتة فقد جاء أشراطها فأنى لهم إذا جاءتهم ذكراهم
فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا السَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً فَقَدْ جَاءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا فَأَنَّى لَهُمْ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرَاهُمْ

  تو اب یہ (منکر) لوگ صرف قیامت ہی کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں کہ وہ ان پر اچانک آپہنچے؟ سو واقعی اس کی نشانیاں (قریب) آپہنچی ہیں، پھر انہیں ان کی نصیحت کہاں (مفید) ہوگی جب (خود) قیامت (ہی) آپہنچے گے

Yousuf AliDo they then only wait for the Hour,- that it should come on them of a sudden? But already have come some tokens thereof, and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their admonition?

Ahmed Aliپھر کیا وہ اس گھڑی کا انتظار کرتے ہیں کہ ان پر ناگہان آئے پس تحقیق اس کی علامتیں تو ظاہر ہو چکیں ہیں پھر جب وہ آگئی تو ان کا سمجھنا کیا فائدہ دے گا

Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاب تو یہ لوگ قیامت ہی کو دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ ناگہاں ان پر آ واقع ہو۔ سو اس کی نشانیاں (وقوع میں) آچکی ہیں۔ پھر جب وہ ان پر آ نازل ہوگی اس وقت انہیں نصیحت کہاں (مفید ہوسکے گی؟)
Mehmood Al Hassanاب یہی انتظار کرتے ہیں قیامت کا کہ آ کھڑی ہو ان پر اچانک سو آچکی ہیں اسکی نشانیاں پھر کہاں نصیب ہو گا انکو جب وہ آ پہنچے ان پر سمجھ پکڑنا
Abul Ala Maududiاب کیا یہ لوگ بس قیامت ہی کے منتظر ہیں کہ وہ اچانک اِن پر آ جائے؟ اُس کی علامات تو آ چکی ہیں جب وہ خود آ جائے گی تو اِن کے لیے نصیحت قبول کرنے کا کونسا موقع باقی رہ جائے گا؟
