Wa-itha qeela inna waAAda Allahihaqqun waalssaAAatu la rayba feehaqultum ma nadree ma alssaAAatu in nathunnuilla thannan wama nahnubimustayqineena وإذا قيل إن وعد الله حق والساعة لا ريب فيها قلتم ما ندري ما الساعة إن نظن إلا ظنا وما نحن بمستيقنين
وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِي مَا السَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ

  اور جب کہا جاتا تھا کہ اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور قیامت (کے آنے) میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے تو تم کہتے تھے کہ ہم نہیں جانتے قیامت کیا ہے، ہم اُسے وہم و گمان کے سوا کچھ نہیں سمجھتے اور ہم (اِس پر) یقین کرنے والے نہیں ہیں

Abul Ala Maududiاور جب کہا جاتا تھا کہ اللہ کا وعدہ برحق ہے اور قیامت کے آنے میں کوئی شک نہیں، تو تم کہتے تھے کہ ہم نہیں جانتے قیامت کیا ہوتی ہے، ہم تو بس ایک گمان سا رکھتے ہیں، یقین ہم کو نہیں ہے"
