Wala tastawee alhasanatu walaalssayyi-atu idfaAA biallatee hiya ahsanufa-itha allathee baynaka wabaynahu AAadawatunkaannahu waliyyun hameemun ولا تستوي الحسنة ولا السيئة ادفع بالتي هي أحسن فإذا الذي بينك وبينه عداوة كأنه ولي حميم
وَلَا تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّئَةُ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ

  اور نیکی اور بدی برابر نہیں ہو سکتے، اور برائی کو بہتر (طریقے) سے دور کیا کرو سو نتیجتاً وہ شخص کہ تمہارے اور جس کے درمیان دشمنی تھی گویا وہ گرم جوش دوست ہو جائے گا

Ahmed Aliاور نیکی اور بدی برابر نہیں ہو تی (برائی کا) دفعیہ اس بات سے کیجیئے جو اچھی ہو پھر ناگہاں وہ شخص جو تیرے اور اس کے درمیان دشمنی تھی ایسا ہوگا گویاکہ وہ مخلص دوست ہے

Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور بھلائی اور برائی برابر نہیں ہوسکتی۔ تو (سخت کلامی کا) ایسے طریق سے جواب دو جو بہت اچھا ہو (ایسا کرنے سے تم دیکھو گے) کہ جس میں اور تم میں دشمنی تھی گویا وہ تمہارا گرم جوش دوست ہے
Mehmood Al Hassanاور برابر نہیں نیکی اور نہ بدی جواب میں وہ کہہ جو اس سے بہتر ہو پھر تو دیکھ لے کہ تجھ میں اور جس میں دشمنی تھی گویا دوستدار ہے قرابت والا
Abul Ala Maududiاور اے نبیؐ، نیکی اور بدی یکساں نہیں ہیں تم بدی کو اُس نیکی سے دفع کرو جو بہترین ہو تم دیکھو گے کہ تمہارے ساتھ جس کی عداوت پڑی ہوئی تھی وہ جگری دوست بن گیا ہے

Hilali/Khan**The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.
