| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [4:149] | In tubdoo khayran aw tukhfoohu aw taAAfooAAan soo-in fa-inna Allaha kana AAafuwwan qadeeran |  إن تبدوا خيرا أو تخفوه أو تعفوا عن سوء فإن الله كان عفوا قديراإِن تُبْدُواْ خَيْرًا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ أَوْ تَعْفُواْ عَن سُوءٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا قَدِيرًا | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اگر تم کسی کارِ خیر کو ظاہر کرو یا اسے مخفی رکھو یا کسی (کی) برائی سے در گزر کرو تو بیشک اﷲ بڑا معاف فرمانے والا بڑی قدرت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Whether ye publish a good deed or conceal it or cover evil with pardon, verily Allah doth blot out (sins) and hath power (in the judgment of values).

[4:150] | Inna allatheena yakfuroona biAllahiwarusulihi wayureedoona an yufarriqoo bayna Allahiwarusulihi wayaqooloona nu/minu bibaAAdin wanakfuru bibaAAdinwayureedoona an yattakhithoo bayna thalika sabeelan | إن الذين يكفرون بالله ورسله ويريدون أن يفرقوا بين الله ورسله ويقولون نؤمن ببعض ونكفر ببعض ويريدون أن يتخذوا بين ذلك سبيلا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِاللّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيْنَ اللّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَيقُولُونَ نُؤْمِنُ بِبَعْضٍ وَنَكْفُرُ بِبَعْضٍ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُواْ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ سَبِيلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلا شبہ جو لوگ اﷲ اور اس کے رسولوں کے ساتھ کفر کرتے ہیں اور چاہتے ہیں کہ اﷲ اور اس کے رسولوں کے درمیان تفریق کریں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہم بعض کو مانتے ہیں اور بعض کو نہیں مانتے اور چاہتے ہیں کہ اس (ایمان و کفر) کے درمیان کوئی راہ نکال لیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who deny Allah and His messengers, and (those who) wish to separate Allah from His messengers, saying: "We believe in some but reject others": And (those who) wish to take a course midway,-

| Words | |إن - Indeed,| الذين - those who| يكفرون - disbelieve| بالله - in Allah| ورسله - and His Messengers| ويريدون - and they wish| أن - that| يفرقوا - they differentiate| بين - between| الله - Allah| ورسله - and His Messengers| ويقولون - and they say,| نؤمن - "We believe| ببعض - in some| ونكفر - and we disbelieve| ببعض - in others."| ويريدون - And they wish| أن - that| يتخذوا - they take| بين - between| ذلك - that| سبيلا - a way.| | ||||||
| 3. [4:151] | Ola-ika humu alkafiroona haqqanwaaAAtadna lilkafireena AAathaban muheenan | أولئك هم الكافرون حقا وأعتدنا للكافرين عذابا مهينا أُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ حَقًّا وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ایسے ہی لوگ درحقیقت کافر ہیں، اور ہم نے کافروں کے لئے رُسوا کن عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They are in truth (equally) unbelievers; and we have prepared for unbelievers a humiliating punishment.

| Words | |أولئك - Those -| هم - they| الكافرون - (are) the disbelievers| حقا - truly.| وأعتدنا - And We have prepared| للكافرين - for the disbelievers| عذابا - a punishment| مهينا - humiliating.| | ||||||

[4:152] | Waallatheena amanoo biAllahiwarusulihi walam yufarriqoo bayna ahadin minhum ola-ikasawfa yu/teehim ojoorahum wakana Allahu ghafooranraheeman | والذين آمنوا بالله ورسله ولم يفرقوا بين أحد منهم أولئك سوف يؤتيهم أجورهم وكان الله غفورا رحيما وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ بِاللّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَلَمْ يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ أُوْلَـئِكَ سَوْفَ يُؤْتِيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَكَانَ اللّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ اﷲ اور اس کے (سب) رسولوں پر ایمان لائے اور ان (پیغمبروں) میں سے کسی کے درمیان (ایمان لانے میں) فرق نہ کیا تو عنقریب وہ انہیں ان کے اجر عطا فرمائے گا، اور اﷲ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | To those who believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of the messengers, we shall soon give their (due) rewards: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

| 5. [4:156] | Wabikufrihim waqawlihim AAalamaryama buhtanan AAatheeman | وبكفرهم وقولهم على مريم بهتانا عظيما وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلَى مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَانًا عَظِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (مزید یہ کہ) ان کے (اس) کفر اور قول کے باعث جو انہوں نے مریم (علیہا السلام) پر زبردست بہتان لگایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That they rejected Faith; that they uttered against Mary a grave false charge;

| Words | |وبكفرهم - And for their disbelief| وقولهم - and their saying| على - against| مريم - Maryam| بهتانا - a slander| عظيما - great.| | ||||||
| 6. [4:158] | Bal rafaAAahu Allahu ilayhi wakanaAllahu AAazeezan hakeeman | بل رفعه الله إليه وكان الله عزيزا حكيما بَل رَّفَعَهُ اللّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ اﷲ نے انہیں اپنی طرف (آسمان پر) اٹھا لیا، اور اﷲ غالب حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-

| Words | |بل - Nay,| رفعه - he was raised| الله - (by) Allah| إليه - towards Him.| وكان - And is| الله - Allah| عزيزا - All-Mighty,| حكيما - All-Wise.| | ||||||

[4:153] | Yas-aluka ahlu alkitabi an tunazzilaAAalayhim kitaban mina alssama-i faqadsaaloo moosa akbara min thalika faqaloo arinaAllaha jahratan faakhathat-humu alssaAAiqatubithulmihim thumma ittakhathoo alAAijla minbaAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatu faAAafawnaAAan thalika waatayna moosa sultananmubeenan | يسألك أهل الكتاب أن تنزل عليهم كتابا من السماء فقد سألوا موسى أكبر من ذلك فقالوا أرنا الله جهرة فأخذتهم الصاعقة بظلمهم ثم اتخذوا العجل من بعد ما جاءتهم البينات فعفونا عن ذلك وآتينا موسى سلطانا مبينا يَسْأَلُكَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَى أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَلِكَ فَقَالُواْ أَرِنَا اللّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذُواْ الْعِجْلَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَلِكَ وَآتَيْنَا مُوسَى سُلْطَانًا مُّبِينًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیب!) آپ سے اہلِ کتاب سوال کرتے ہیں کہ آپ ان پر آسمان سے (ایک ہی دفعہ پوری لکھی ہوئی) کوئی کتاب اتار لائیں، تو وہ موسٰی (علیہ السلام) سے اس سے بھی بڑا سوال کر چکے ہیں، انہوں نے کہا تھا کہ ہمیں اﷲ (کی ذات) کھلم کھلا دکھا دو، پس ان کے (اس) ظلم (یعنی گستاخانہ سوال) کی وجہ سے انہیں آسمانی بجلی نے آپکڑا (جس کے باعث وہ مرگئے، پھر موسٰی علیہ السلام کی دعا سے زندہ ہوئے)، پھر انہوں نے بچھڑے کو (اپنا معبود) بنا لیا اس کے بعد کہ ان کے پاس (حق کی نشاندہی کرنے والی) واضح نشانیاں آچکی تھیں، پھر ہم نے اس (جرم) سے بھی درگزر کیا اور ہم نے موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کو (ان پر) واضح غلبہ عطا فرمایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle), for they said: "Show us Allah in public," but they were dazed for their presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses manifest proofs of authority.

| Words | |يسألك - Ask you| أهل - (the) People| الكتاب - (of) the Book| أن - that| تنزل - you bring down| عليهم - to them| كتابا - a book| من - from| السماء - the heaven.| فقد - Then indeed,| سألوا - they (had) asked| موسى - Musa| أكبر - greater| من - than| ذلك - that| فقالوا - for they said,| أرنا - "Show us| الله - Allah| جهرة - manifestly,"| فأخذتهم - so struck them| الصاعقة - the thunderbolt| بظلمهم - for their wrongdoing.| ثم - Then| اتخذوا - they took| العجل - the calf (for worship)| من - from| بعد - after| ما - [what]| جاءتهم - came to them| البينات - the clear proofs,| فعفونا - then We forgave them| عن - for| ذلك - that.| وآتينا - And We gave| موسى - Musa| سلطانا - an authority| مبينا - clear.| | ||||||
| 8. [4:154] | WarafaAAna fawqahumu alttoorabimeethaqihim waqulna lahumu odkhuloo albabasujjadan waqulna lahum la taAAdoo fee alssabtiwaakhathna minhum meethaqan ghaleethan | ورفعنا فوقهم الطور بميثاقهم وقلنا لهم ادخلوا الباب سجدا وقلنا لهم لا تعدوا في السبت وأخذنا منهم ميثاقا غليظا وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ الطُّورَ بِمِيثَاقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ادْخُلُواْ الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لاَ تَعْدُواْ فِي السَّبْتِ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (جب یہود تورات کے احکام سے پھر انکاری ہوگئے تو) ہم نے ان سے (پختہ) عہد لینے کے لئے (کوہِ) طور کو ان کے اوپر اٹھا (کر معلّق کر) دیا، اور ہم نے ان سے فرمایا کہ تم (اس شہر کے) دروازے (یعنی بابِ ایلیاء) میں سجدۂ (شکر) کرتے ہوئے داخل ہونا، اور ہم نے ان سے (مزید) فرمایا کہ ہفتہ کے دن (مچھلی کے شکار کی ممانعت کے حکم) میں بھی تجاوز نہ کرنا اور ہم نے ان سے بڑا تاکیدی عہد لیا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And for their covenant we raised over them (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai); and (on another occasion) we said: "Enter the gate with humility"; and (once again) we commanded them: "Transgress not in the matter of the sabbath." And we took from them a solemn covenant.

[4:159] | Wa-in min ahli alkitabi illalayu/minanna bihi qabla mawtihi wayawma alqiyamati yakoonuAAalayhim shaheedan | وإن من أهل الكتاب إلا ليؤمنن به قبل موته ويوم القيامة يكون عليهم شهيدا وَإِن مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلاَّ لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (قربِ قیامت نزولِ مسیح علیہ السلام کے وقت) اہلِ کتاب میں سے کوئی (فرد یا فرقہ) نہ رہے گا مگر وہ عیسٰی (علیہ السلام) پر ان کی موت سے پہلے ضرور (صحیح طریقے سے) ایمان لے آئے گا، اور قیامت کے دن عیسٰی (علیہ السلام) ان پر گواہ ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them;-

[4:155] | Fabima naqdihim meethaqahumwakufrihim bi-ayati Allahi waqatlihimual-anbiyaa bighayri haqqin waqawlihim quloobunaghulfun bal tabaAAa Allahu AAalayhabikufrihim fala yu/minoona illa qaleelan | فبما نقضهم ميثاقهم وكفرهم بآيات الله وقتلهم الأنبياء بغير حق وقولهم قلوبنا غلف بل طبع الله عليها بكفرهم فلا يؤمنون إلا قليلا فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَاقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِم بَآيَاتِ اللّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ بَلْ طَبَعَ اللّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس (انہیں جو سزائیں ملیں وہ) ان کی اپنی عہد شکنی پر اور آیاتِ الٰہی سے انکار (کے سبب) اور انبیاء کو ان کے ناحق قتل کر ڈالنے (کے باعث)، نیز ان کی اس بات (کے سبب) سے کہ ہمارے دلوں پر غلاف (چڑھے ہوئے) ہیں، (حقیقت میں ایسا نہ تھا) بلکہ اﷲ نے ان کے کفر کے باعث ان کے دلوں پر مُہر لگا دی ہے، سو وہ چند ایک کے سوا ایمان نہیں لائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (They have incurred divine displeasure): In that they broke their covenant; that they rejected the signs of Allah; that they slew the Messengers in defiance of right; that they said, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word; We need no more)";- Nay, Allah hath set the seal on their hearts for their blasphemy, and little is it they believe;-

| Words | |فبما - Then because of| نقضهم - their breaking| ميثاقهم - (of) their covenant| وكفرهم - and their disbelief| بآيات - in (the) Signs| الله - (of) Allah| وقتلهم - and their killing| الأنبياء - (of) the Prophets| بغير - without| حق - any right| وقولهم - and their saying,| قلوبنا - "Our hearts| غلف - (are) wrapped."| بل - Nay,| طبع - (has) set a seal| الله - Allah| عليها - on their (hearts)| بكفرهم - for their disbelief| فلا - so not| يؤمنون - they believe| إلا - except| قليلا - a few.| | ||||||
| 11. [4:160] | Fabithulmin mina allatheenahadoo harramna AAalayhim tayyibatinohillat lahum wabisaddihim AAan sabeeli Allahikatheeran | فبظلم من الذين هادوا حرمنا عليهم طيبات أحلت لهم وبصدهم عن سبيل الله كثيرا فَبِظُلْمٍ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ طَيِّبَاتٍ أُحِلَّتْ لَهُمْ وَبِصَدِّهِمْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ كَثِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر یہودیوں کے ظلم ہی کی وجہ سے ہم نے ان پر (کئی) پاکیزہ چیزیں حرام کر دیں جو (پہلے) ان کے لئے حلال کی جاچکی تھیں، اور اس وجہ سے (بھی) کہ وہ (لوگوں کو) اﷲ کی راہ سے بکثرت روکتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For the iniquity of the Jews We made unlawful for them certain (foods) good and wholesome which had been lawful for them;- in that they hindered many from Allah's Way;-

| Words | |فبظلم - Then for (the) wrongdoing| من - of| الذين - those who| هادوا - were Jews,| حرمنا - We made unlawful| عليهم - for them| طيبات - good things| أحلت - which had been lawful| لهم - for them| وبصدهم - and for their hindering| عن - from| سبيل - (the) way| الله - (of) Allah -| كثيرا - many.| | ||||||
| 12. [4:157] | Waqawlihim inna qatalnaalmaseeha AAeesa ibna maryama rasoola Allahiwama qataloohu wama salaboohu walakinshubbiha lahum wa-inna allatheena ikhtalafoo feehi lafeeshakkin minhu ma lahum bihi min AAilmin illa ittibaAAaalththanni wama qataloohu yaqeenan | وقولهم إنا قتلنا المسيح عيسى ابن مريم رسول الله وما قتلوه وما صلبوه ولكن شبه لهم وإن الذين اختلفوا فيه لفي شك منه ما لهم به من علم إلا اتباع الظن وما قتلوه يقينا وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ اللّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَـكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلاَّ اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان کے اس کہنے (یعنی فخریہ دعوٰی) کی وجہ سے (بھی) کہ ہم نے اﷲ کے رسول، مریم کے بیٹے عیسٰی مسیح کو قتل کر ڈالا ہے، حالانکہ انہوں نے نہ ان کو قتل کیا اور نہ انہیں سولی چڑھایا مگر (ہوا یہ کہ) ان کے لئے (کسی کو عیسٰی علیہ السلام کا) ہم شکل بنا دیا گیا، اور بیشک جو لوگ ان کے بارے میں اختلاف کر رہے ہیں وہ یقیناً اس (قتل کے حوالے) سے شک میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں، انہیں (حقیقتِ حال کا) کچھ بھی علم نہیں مگر یہ کہ گمان کی پیروی (کر رہے ہیں)، اور انہوں نے عیسٰی (علیہ السلام) کو یقیناً قتل نہیں کیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

| Words | |وقولهم - And for their saying,| إنا - "Indeed, we| قتلنا - killed| المسيح - the Messiah,| عيسى - Isa,| ابن - son| مريم - (of) Maryam,| رسول - (the) Messenger| الله - (of) Allah."| وما - And not| قتلوه - they killed him| وما - and not| صلبوه - they crucified him| ولكن - but| شبه - it was made to appear (so)| لهم - to them.| وإن - And indeed,| الذين - those who| اختلفوا - differ| فيه - in it| لفي - (are) surely in| شك - doubt| منه - about it.| ما - Not| لهم - for them| به - about it| من - [of]| علم - (any) knowledge| إلا - except| اتباع - (the) following| الظن - (of) assumption.| وما - And not| قتلوه - they killed him,| يقينا - certainly.| | ||||||
| 13. [4:161] | Waakhthihimu alrribawaqad nuhoo AAanhu waaklihim amwala alnnasibialbatili waaAAtadna lilkafireenaminhum AAathaban aleeman | وأخذهم الربا وقد نهوا عنه وأكلهم أموال الناس بالباطل وأعتدنا للكافرين منهم عذابا أليما وَأَخْذِهِمُ الرِّبَا وَقَدْ نُهُواْ عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان کے سود لینے کے سبب سے، حالانکہ وہ اس سے روکے گئے تھے، اور ان کے لوگوں کا ناحق مال کھانے کی وجہ سے (بھی انہیں سزا ملی) اور ہم نے ان میں سے کافروں کے لئے دردناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That they took usury, though they were forbidden; and that they devoured men's substance wrongfully;- we have prepared for those among them who reject faith a grievous punishment.

| Words | |وأخذهم - And for their taking| الربا - (of) [the] usury| وقد - while certainly| نهوا - they were forbidden| عنه - from it| وأكلهم - and (for) their consuming| أموال - wealth| الناس - (of) the people| بالباطل - wrongfully.| وأعتدنا - And We have prepared| للكافرين - for the disbelievers| منهم - among them| عذابا - a punishment| أليما - painful.| | ||||||
| 14. [4:164] | Warusulan qad qasasnahumAAalayka min qablu warusulan lam naqsushum AAalaykawakallama Allahu moosa takleeman | ورسلا قد قصصناهم عليك من قبل ورسلا لم نقصصهم عليك وكلم الله موسى تكليما وَرُسُلاً قَدْ قَصَصْنَاهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَرُسُلاً لَّمْ نَقْصُصْهُمْ عَلَيْكَ وَكَلَّمَ اللّهُ مُوسَى تَكْلِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (ہم نے کئی) ایسے رسول (بھیجے) ہیں جن کے حالات ہم (اس سے) پہلے آپ کو سنا چکے ہیں اور (کئی) ایسے رسول بھی (بھیجے) ہیں جن کے حالات ہم نے (ابھی تک) آپ کو نہیں سنائے اور اﷲ نے موسٰی (علیہ السلام) سے (بلاواسطہ) گفتگو (بھی) فرمائی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Of some messengers We have already told thee the story; of others We have not;- and to Moses Allah spoke direct;-

[4:162] | Lakini alrrasikhoonafee alAAilmi minhum waalmu/minoona yu/minoona bimaonzila ilayka wama onzila min qablika waalmuqeemeenaalssalata waalmu/toona alzzakatawaalmu/minoona biAllahi waalyawmi al-akhiriola-ika sanu/teehim ajran AAatheeman | لكن الراسخون في العلم منهم والمؤمنون يؤمنون بما أنزل إليك وما أنزل من قبلك والمقيمين الصلاة والمؤتون الزكاة والمؤمنون بالله واليوم الآخر أولئك سنؤتيهم أجرا عظيما لَّـكِنِ الرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيكَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَالْمُقِيمِينَ الصَّلاَةَ وَالْمُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أُوْلَـئِكَ سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | لیکن ان میں سے پختہ علم والے اور مومن لوگ اس (وحی) پر جو آپ کی طرف نازل کی گئی ہے اور اس (وحی) پر جو آپ سے پہلے نازل کی گئی (برابر) ایمان لاتے ہیں، اور وہ (کتنے اچھے ہیں کہ) نماز قائم کرنے والے (ہیں) اور زکوٰۃ دینے والے (ہیں) اور اﷲ اور قیامت کے دن پر ایمان رکھنے والے (ہیں)۔ ایسے ہی لوگوں کو ہم عنقریب بڑا اجر عطا فرمائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what hath been revealed to thee and what was revealed before thee: And (especially) those who establish regular prayer and practise regular charity and believe in Allah and in the Last Day: To them shall We soon give a great reward.

[4:163] | Inna awhayna ilaykakama awhayna ila noohin waalnnabiyyeenamin baAAdihi waawhayna ila ibraheemawa-ismaAAeela wa-ishaqa wayaAAqooba waal-asbatiwaAAeesa waayyooba wayoonusa waharoona wasulaymanawaatayna dawooda zabooran | إنا أوحينا إليك كما أوحينا إلى نوح والنبيين من بعده وأوحينا إلى إبراهيم وإسماعيل وإسحاق ويعقوب والأسباط وعيسى وأيوب ويونس وهارون وسليمان وآتينا داوود زبورا إِنَّا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ كَمَا أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى نُوحٍ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ مِن بَعْدِهِ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإْسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَعِيسَى وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُونُسَ وَهَارُونَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ وَآتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ زَبُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیب!) بیشک ہم نے آپ کی طرف (اُسی طرح) وحی بھیجی ہے جیسے ہم نے نوح (علیہ السلام) کی طرف اور ان کے بعد (دوسرے) پیغمبروں کی طرف بھیجی تھی۔ اور ہم نے ابراہیم و اسماعیل اور اسحاق و یعقوب اور (ان کی) اولاد اور عیسٰی اور ایوب اور یونس اور ہارون اور سلیمان (علیھم السلام) کی طرف (بھی) وحی فرمائی، اور ہم نے داؤد (علیہ السلام) کو (بھی) زبور عطا کی تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have sent thee inspiration, as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him: we sent inspiration to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, to Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms.

[4:165] | Rusulan mubashshireena wamunthireenali-alla yakoona lilnnasi AAala Allahihujjatun baAAda alrrusuli wakana AllahuAAazeezan hakeeman | رسلا مبشرين ومنذرين لئلا يكون للناس على الله حجة بعد الرسل وكان الله عزيزا حكيما رُّسُلاً مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلاَّ يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى اللّهِ حُجَّةٌ بَعْدَ الرُّسُلِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | رسول جو خوشخبری دینے والے اور ڈر سنانے والے تھے (اس لئے بھیجے گئے) تاکہ (ان) پیغمبروں (کے آجانے) کے بعد لوگوں کے لئے اﷲ پر کوئی عذر باقی نہ رہے، اور اﷲ بڑا غالب حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Messengers who gave good news as well as warning, that mankind, after (the coming) of the messengers, should have no plea against Allah: For Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

[4:166] | Lakini Allahu yashhadu bimaanzala ilayka anzalahu biAAilmihi waalmala-ikatuyashhadoona wakafa biAllahi shaheedan | لكن الله يشهد بما أنزل إليك أنزله بعلمه والملائكة يشهدون وكفى بالله شهيدا لَّـكِنِ اللّهُ يَشْهَدُ بِمَا أَنزَلَ إِلَيْكَ أَنزَلَهُ بِعِلْمِهِ وَالْمَلآئِكَةُ يَشْهَدُونَ وَكَفَى بِاللّهِ شَهِيدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیب! کوئی آپ کی نبوت پر ایمان لائے یا نہ لائے) مگر اﷲ (خود اس بات کی) گواہی دیتا ہے کہ جو کچھ اس نے آپ کی طرف نازل فرمایا ہے، اسے اپنے علم سے نازل فرمایا ہے اور فرشتے (بھی آپ کی خاطر) گواہی دیتے ہیں، اور اﷲ کا گواہ ہونا (ہی) کافی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But Allah beareth witness that what He hath sent unto thee He hath sent from His (own) knowledge, and the angels bear witness: But enough is Allah for a witness.

| 19. [4:167] | Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddooAAan sabeeli Allahi qad dalloo dalalanbaAAeedan | إن الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله قد ضلوا ضلالا بعيدا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ قَدْ ضَلُّواْ ضَلاَلاً بَعِيدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جنہوں نے کفر کیا (یعنی نبوتِ محمدی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی تکذیب کی) اور (لوگوں کو) اﷲ کی راہ سے روکا، یقینا وہ (حق سے) بہت دور کی گمراہی میں جا بھٹکے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who reject Faith and keep off (men) from the way of Allah, have verily strayed far, far away from the Path.

| 20. [4:168] | Inna allatheena kafaroo wathalamoolam yakuni Allahu liyaghfira lahum walaliyahdiyahum tareeqan | إن الذين كفروا وظلموا لم يكن الله ليغفر لهم ولا ليهديهم طريقا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَظَلَمُواْ لَمْ يَكُنِ اللّهُ لِيَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ وَلاَ لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ طَرِيقاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جنہوں نے (اﷲ کی گواہی کو نہ مان کر) کفر کیا اور (رسول کی شان کو نہ مان کر) ظلم کیا، اﷲ ہرگز (ایسا) نہیں کہ انہیں بخش دے اور نہ (ایسا ہے کہ آخرت میں) انہیں کوئی راستہ دکھائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who reject Faith and do wrong,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them to any way-

| 21. [4:169] | Illa tareeqa jahannama khalideenafeeha abadan wakana thalika AAala Allahiyaseeran | إلا طريق جهنم خالدين فيها أبدا وكان ذلك على الله يسيرا إِلاَّ طَرِيقَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللّهِ يَسِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سوائے جہنم کے راستے کے جس میں وہ ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے، اور یہ کام اﷲ پر آسان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Except the way of Hell, to dwell therein for ever. And this to Allah is easy.

[4:170] | Ya ayyuha alnnasuqad jaakumu alrrasoolu bialhaqqi minrabbikum faaminoo khayran lakum wa-in takfuroo fa-innalillahi ma fee alssamawati waal-ardiwakana Allahu AAaleeman hakeeman | يا أيها الناس قد جاءكم الرسول بالحق من ربكم فآمنوا خيرا لكم وإن تكفروا فإن لله ما في السماوات والأرض وكان الله عليما حكيما يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَكُمُ الرَّسُولُ بِالْحَقِّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَآمِنُواْ خَيْرًا لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَكْفُرُواْ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَكَانَ اللّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے لوگو! بیشک تمہارے پاس یہ رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تمہارے رب کی طرف سے حق کے ساتھ تشریف لایا ہے، سو تم (ان پر) اپنی بہتری کے لئے ایمان لے آؤ اور اگر تم کفر (یعنی ان کی رسالت سے انکار) کرو گے تو (جان لو وہ تم سے بے نیاز ہے کیونکہ) جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے یقیناً (وہ سب) اﷲ ہی کا ہے اور اﷲ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O Mankind! The Messenger hath come to you in truth from Allah: believe in him: It is best for you. But if ye reject Faith, to Allah belong all things in the heavens and on earth: And Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.

[4:172] | Lan yastankifa almaseehu an yakoonaAAabdan lillahi wala almala-ikatualmuqarraboona waman yastankif AAan AAibadatihiwayastakbir fasayahshuruhum ilayhi jameeAAan | لن يستنكف المسيح أن يكون عبدا لله ولا الملائكة المقربون ومن يستنكف عن عبادته ويستكبر فسيحشرهم إليه جميعا لَّن يَسْتَنكِفَ الْمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبْداً لِّلّهِ وَلاَ الْمَلآئِكَةُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ وَمَن يَسْتَنكِفْ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَيَسْتَكْبِرْ فَسَيَحْشُرُهُمْ إِلَيهِ جَمِيعًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | مسیح (علیہ السلام) اس (بات) سے ہرگز عار نہیں رکھتا کہ وہ اﷲ کا بندہ ہو اور نہ ہی مقرّب فرشتوں کو (اس سے کوئی عار ہے)، اور جو کوئی اس کی بندگی سے عار محسوس کرے اور تکبر کرے تو وہ ایسے تمام لوگوں کو عنقریب اپنے پاس جمع فرمائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Christ disdaineth nor to serve and worship Allah, nor do the angels, those nearest (to Allah): those who disdain His worship and are arrogant,-He will gather them all together unto Himself to (answer).

| 24. [4:174] | Ya ayyuha alnnasuqad jaakum burhanun min rabbikum waanzalnailaykum nooran mubeenan | يا أيها الناس قد جاءكم برهان من ربكم وأنزلنا إليكم نورا مبينا يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَكُم بُرْهَانٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَأَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ نُورًا مُّبِينًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے لوگو! بیشک تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی جانب سے (ذاتِ محمدی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی صورت میں ذاتِ حق جل مجدہ کی سب سے زیادہ مضبوط، کامل اور واضح) دلیلِ قاطع آگئی ہے اور ہم نے تمہاری طرف (اسی کے ساتھ قرآن کی صورت میں) واضح اور روشن نُور (بھی) اتار دیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O mankind! verily there hath come to you a convincing proof from your Lord: For We have sent unto you a light (that is) manifest.

[4:173] | Faamma allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati fayuwaffeehimojoorahum wayazeeduhum min fadlihi waamma allatheenaistankafoo waistakbaroo fayuAAaththibuhum AAathabanaleeman wala yajidoona lahum min dooni Allahiwaliyyan wala naseeran | فأما الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات فيوفيهم أجورهم ويزيدهم من فضله وأما الذين استنكفوا واستكبروا فيعذبهم عذابا أليما ولا يجدون لهم من دون الله وليا ولا نصيرا فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَيَزيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْتَنكَفُواْ وَاسْتَكْبَرُواْ فَيُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَلاَ يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلاَ نَصِيرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے وہ انہیں پورے پورے اجر عطا فرمائے گا اور (پھر) اپنے فضل سے انہیں اور زیادہ دے گا، اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے (اﷲ کی عبادت سے) عار محسوس کی اور تکبرّ کیا تو وہ انہیں دردناک عذاب دے گا، اور وہ اپنے لئے اﷲ کے سوا نہ کوئی دوست پائیں گے اور نہ کوئی مددگار | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But to those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards,- and more, out of His bounty: But those who are disdainful and arrogant, He will punish with a grievous penalty; Nor will they find, besides Allah, any to protect or help them.

| Words | |فأما - Then as for| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believed| وعملوا - and did| الصالحات - the righteous deeds| فيوفيهم - then He will give them in full| أجورهم - their reward| ويزيدهم - and give them more| من - from| فضله - His Bounty.| وأما - And as for| الذين - those who| استنكفوا - disdained| واستكبروا - and were arrogant| فيعذبهم - then He will punish them| عذابا - (with) a punishment| أليما - painful,| ولا - and not| يجدون - will they find| لهم - for themselves| من - from| دون - besides| الله - Allah| وليا - any protector| ولا - and not| نصيرا - any helper.| | ||||||
| 26. [4:175] | Faamma allatheena amanoobiAllahi waiAAtasamoo bihifasayudkhiluhum fee rahmatin minhu wafadlinwayahdeehim ilayhi siratan mustaqeeman | فأما الذين آمنوا بالله واعتصموا به فسيدخلهم في رحمة منه وفضل ويهديهم إليه صراطا مستقيما فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ بِاللّهِ وَاعْتَصَمُواْ بِهِ فَسَيُدْخِلُهُمْ فِي رَحْمَةٍ مِّنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَيْهِ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس جو لوگ اﷲ پر ایمان لائے اور اس (کے دامن) کو مضبوطی سے پکڑے رکھا تو عنقریب (اﷲ) انہیں اپنی (خاص) رحمت اور فضل میں داخل فرمائے گا، اور انہیں اپنی طرف (پہنچنے کا) سیدھا راستہ دکھائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then those who believe in Allah, and hold fast to Him,- soon will He admit them to mercy and grace from Himself, and guide them to Himself by a straight way.
