Wa-itha massa al-insana durrundaAAa rabbahu muneeban ilayhi thumma ithakhawwalahu niAAmatan minhu nasiya ma kana yadAAooilayhi min qablu wajaAAala lillahi andadan liyudillaAAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAA bikufrika qaleelan innaka min as-habialnnari وإذا مس الإنسان ضر دعا ربه منيبا إليه ثم إذا خوله نعمة منه نسي ما كان يدعو إليه من قبل وجعل لله أندادا ليضل عن سبيله قل تمتع بكفرك قليلا إنك من أصحاب النار
وَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهُ مُنِيبًا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلَهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنْهُ نَسِيَ مَا كَانَ يَدْعُواْ إِلَيْهِ مِن قَبْلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ قُلْ تَمَتَّعْ بِكُفْرِكَ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ

  اور جب انسان کو کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو وہ اپنے رب کو اسی کی طرف رجوع کرتے ہوئے پکارتا ہے پھر جب (اللہ) اُسے اپنی جانب سے کوئی نعمت بخش دیتا ہے تو وہ اُس (تکلیف) کو بھول جاتا ہے جس کے لئے وہ پہلے دعا کیا کرتا تھا اور (پھر) اللہ کے لئے (بتوں کو) شریک ٹھہرانے لگتا ہے تاکہ (دوسرے لوگوں کو بھی) اس کی راہ سے بھٹکا دے، فرما دیجئے: (اے کافر!) تو اپنے کُفر کے ساتھ تھوڑا سا (ظاہری) فائدہ اٹھا لے، تو بے شک دوزخیوں میں سے ہے

Yousuf AliWhen some trouble toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah's Path. Say, "Enjoy thy blasphemy for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!"

Ahmed Aliاور جب انسان کو تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو اپنے رب کواس کی طرف رجوع کر کے پکارتا ہے پھر جب وہ اسے کوئی نعمت اپنی طرف سے عطا کرتا ہے تو جس کے لیے پہلے پکارتا تھا اسے بھول جاتا ہے اور اس کے لیے شریک بناتا ہے تاکہ اس کی راہ سے گمراہ کرے کہہ دو اپنے کفر میں تھوڑی مدت فائد ہ اٹھا لے بے شک تو دوزخیوں میں سے ہے
Ahmed Raza Khanاور جب آدمی کو کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے اپنے رب کو پکارتا ہے اسی طرف جھکا ہوا پھر جب اللہ نے اسے اپنے پاس سے کوئی نعمت دی تو بھول جاتا ہے جس لیے پہلے پکارا تھا اور اللہ کے برابر والے ٹھہرانے لگتا ہے تاکہ اس کی راہ سے بہکادے تم فرماؤ تھوڑے دن اپنے کفر کے ساتھ برت لے بیشک تو دوزخیوں میں ہے،
Shabbir Ahmed اور جب پہنچتی ہے انسان کو کوئی تکلیف تو پکارتا ہے اپنے رب کو، رجوع کرتے ہوئے اس کی طرف پھر جب وہ نوازتا ہے اس کو کسی نعمت سے جو اسی کی طرف سے ہوتی ہے تو یہ بھول جاتا ہے اس (مصیبت) کو دعا کررہا تھا جس سے نجات کے لیے پہلے۔ اور ٹھہرانے لگتا ہے اللہ کا ہمسر (دوسروں کو) تاکہ بھٹکادیں وہ اس کو اللہ کی راہ سے۔ ان سے کہیے مزے لوٹ لو اپنے کفر سے تھوڑے دن، یقینا تم جہنمی ہو۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور جب انسان کو تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو اپنے پروردگار کو پکارتا (اور) اس کی طرف دل سے رجوع کرتا ہے۔ پھر جب وہ اس کو اپنی طرف سے کوئی نعمت دیتا ہے تو جس کام کے لئے پہلے اس کو پکارتا ہے اسے بھول جاتا ہے اور خدا کا شریک بنانے لگتا ہے تاکہ (لوگوں کو) اس کے رستے سے گمراہ کرے۔ کہہ دو کہ (اے کافر نعمت) اپنی ناشکری سے تھوڑا سا فائدہ اٹھالے۔ پھر تُو تو دوزخیوں میں ہوگا

Abul Ala Maududiانسان پر جب کوئی آفت آتی ہے تو وہ اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع کر کے اُسے پکارتا ہے پھر جب اس کا رب اسے اپنی نعمت سے نواز دیتا ہے تو وہ اُس مصیبت کو بھول جاتا ہے جس پر وہ پہلے پکار رہا تھا اور دوسروں کو اللہ کا ہمسر ٹھیراتا ہے تاکہ اُس کی راہ سے گمراہ کرے (اے نبیؐ) اُس سے کہو کہ تھوڑے دن اپنے کفر سے لطف اٹھا لے، یقیناً تو دوزخ میں جانے والا ہے

Arberry When some affliction visits a man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to him; then when He confers on him a blessing from Him he forgets that he was calling to before and sets up compeers to God, to lead astray from His way. Say: 'Enjoy thy unbelief a little; thou shalt be among the inhabitants of the Fire.'
ShakirAnd when distress afflicts a man he calls upon his Lord turning to Him frequently; then when He makes him possess a favor from Him, he forgets that for which he called upon Him before, and sets up rivals to Allah that he may cause (men) to stray off from His path. Say: Enjoy yourself in your ungratefulness a little, surely you are of the inmates of the fire.
SarwarWhen the human being is afflicted with hardship, he starts to pray to his Lord and turns to Him in repentance. When God grants him a favor, he forgets the hardship about which he had prayed to God and starts to consider equal to God things that lead him astray from His path. (Muhammad), tell him, "You can only enjoy in your disbelief for a short time. You will certainly be a dweller of hell fire".

Say: 'Enjoy your disbelief for awhile, you shall surely be among the companions of the Fire.

Khalifa**When the human being is afflicted, he implores his Lord, sincerely devoted to Him. But as soon as He blesses him, he forgets his previous imploring, sets up idols to rank with GOD and to divert others from His path. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief temporarily; you have incurred the hellfire."
Hilali/Khan**And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allah Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favour upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: "Take pleasure in your disbelief for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire!"
