| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [38:26] | Ya dawoodu inna jaAAalnakakhaleefatan fee al-ardi faohkum bayna alnnasibialhaqqi wala tattabiAAi alhawa fayudillakaAAan sabeeli Allahi inna allatheena yadilloonaAAan sabeeli Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun bimanasoo yawma alhisabi |  يا داوود إنا جعلناك خليفة في الأرض فاحكم بين الناس بالحق ولا تتبع الهوى فيضلك عن سبيل الله إن الذين يضلون عن سبيل الله لهم عذاب شديد بما نسوا يوم الحسابيَا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَاحْكُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَى فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اے داؤد! بے شک ہم نے آپ کو زمین میں (اپنا) نائب بنایا سو تم لوگوں کے درمیان حق و انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلے (یا حکومت) کیا کرو اور خواہش کی پیروی نہ کرنا ورنہ (یہ پیروی) تمہیں راہِ خدا سے بھٹکا دے گی، بے شک جو لوگ اﷲ کی راہ سے بھٹک جاتے ہیں اُن کے لئے سخت عذاب ہے اس وجہ سے کہ وہ یومِ حساب کو بھول گئے | ||||||

We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.
