Awa lamma asabatkum museebatunqad asabtum mithlayha qultum anna hathaqul huwa min AAindi anfusikum inna Allaha AAalakulli shay-in qadeerun أولما أصابتكم مصيبة قد أصبتم مثليها قلتم أنى هذا قل هو من عند أنفسكم إن الله على كل شيء قدير
أَوَلَمَّا أَصَابَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَدْ أَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّى هَـذَا قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنْفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

  کیا جب تمہیں ایک مصیبت آپہنچی حالانکہ تم اس سے دو چند (دشمن کو) پہنچا چکے تھے تو تم کہنے لگے کہ یہ کہاں سے آپڑی؟ فرما دیں: یہ تمہاری اپنی ہی طرف سے ہے بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر خوب قدرت رکھتا ہے

Ahmed Aliکیا جب تمہیں ایک تکلیف پہنچی حالانکہ تم تو اس سے دو چند تکلیف پہنچا چکے ہو تو کہتے ہو یہ کہاں سے آئی کہہ دو یہ تکلیف تمہیں تمہاری طرف سے پہنچی ہے بے شک الله ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

Shabbir Ahmed کیا(ایسانہیں ہُوا) کہ جب پہنچی تم کو(کوئی) مصیبت جبکہ پہنچاچکے تھے تم اس سے دگنی مصیبت (دشمنوں کو بدر میں) تو تم نے کہا !کہاں سے آگئی یہ ؟َکہہ دو! یہ مصیبت تمہاری اپنی ہی لائی ہوئی ہے، بے شک اللہ ہربات پر پُوری طرح قادرہے ۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary(بھلا یہ) کیا (بات ہے کہ) جب (اُحد کے دن کافر کے ہاتھ سے) تم پر مصیبت واقع ہوئی حالانکہ (جنگ بدر میں) اس سے دوچند مصیبت تمہارے ہاتھ سے ان پر پڑچکی ہے توتم چلا اٹھے کہ (ہائے) آفت (ہم پر) کہاں سے آپڑی کہہ دو کہ یہ تمہاری ہی شامت اعمال ہے (کہ تم نے پیغمبر کے حکم کے خلاف کیا) بےشک خدا ہر چیز پر قادر ہے
Mehmood Al Hassanکیا جس وقت پہنچی تم کو ایک تکلیف کہ تم پہنچا چکے ہو اس سے دوچند تو کہتے ہو یہ کہاں سے آئی تو کہہ دے یہ تکلیف تم کو پہنچی تمہاری ہی طرف سے بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے
Abul Ala Maududiاور یہ تمہارا کیا حال ہے کہ جب تم پر مصیبت آ پڑی تو تم کہنے لگے یہ کہاں سے آئی؟ حالانکہ (جنگ بدر میں) اس سے د و گنی مصیبت تمہارے ہاتھوں (فریق مخالف پر) پڑ چکی ہے اے نبیؐ! اِن سے کہو، یہ مصیبت تمہاری اپنی لائی ہوئی ہے، اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

PickthalAnd was it so, when a disaster smote you, though ye had smitten (them with a disaster) twice (as great), that ye said: How is this? Say (unto them, O Muhammad): It is from yourselves. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.
Arberry Why, when an affliction visited you, and you had visited twice over the like of it, did you say, 'How is this?' Say: 'This is from your own selves; surely God is powerful over everything.'

Khalifa**Now that you have suffered a setback, and even though you inflicted twice as much suffering (upon your enemy), you said, "Why did this happen to us?" Say, "This is a consequence of your own deeds." GOD is Omnipotent.

QXP Shabbir Ahemd**Now that you have suffered a setback at Uhud, remember you inflicted twice as much on the enemy at Badr. You say, "How did this happen?" Say (O Messenger), "This is from your own selves." (3:152). Allah has appointed due measure for everything.
