Qala ya qawmi limatastaAAjiloona bialssayyi-ati qabla alhasanati lawlatastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona قال يا قوم لم تستعجلون بالسيئة قبل الحسنة لولا تستغفرون الله لعلكم ترحمون
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
Tahir ul Qadri

  (صالح علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے میری قوم! تم لوگ بھلائی (یعنی رحمت) سے پہلے برائی (یعنی عذاب) میں کیوں جلدی چاہتے ہو؟ تم اللہ سے بخشش کیوں طلب نہیں کرتے تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے

Yousuf AliHe said: "O my people! why ask ye to hasten on the evil in preference to the good? If only ye ask Allah for forgiveness, ye may hope to receive mercy.

Ahmed Aliکہا اے میری قوم بھلائی سے پہلے برائی کو کیوں جلدی مانگتے ہو الله سے گناہ کیوں نہیں بخشواتے تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے
Ahmed Raza Khanصا لح نے فرمایا اے میری قوم! کیوں برائی کی جلدی کرتے ہو بھلائی سے پہلے اللہ سے بخشش کیوں نہیں مانگتے شاید تم پر رحم ہو
Shabbir Ahmed صالح نے کہا: اے میرے قوم! کیوں جلدی مچاتے ہو تم برائی کے لیے بھلائی سے پہلے؟ کیوں نہیں تم مغفرت طلب کرتے اللہ سے؟ شاید کہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyصالح نے کہا کہ بھائیو تم بھلائی سے پہلے برائی کے لئے کیوں جلدی کرتے ہو (اور) خدا سے بخشش کیوں نہیں مانگتے تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے
Mehmood Al Hassanکہا اے میری قوم کیوں جلدی مانگتے ہو برائی کو پہلے بھلائی سے کیوں نہیں گناہ بخشواتے اللہ سے شاید تم پر رحم ہو جائے
Abul Ala Maududiصالحؑ نے کہا "“اے میری قوم کے لوگو، بھلائی سے پہلے بُرائی کے لیے کیوں جلدی مچاتے ہو؟ کیوں نہیں اللہ سے مغفرت طلب کرتے؟ شاید کہ تم پر رحم فرمایا جائے؟"
