| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [24:26] | Alkhabeethatu lilkhabeetheena waalkhabeethoonalilkhabeethati waalttayyibatu lilttayyibeenawaalttayyiboona lilttayyibatiola-ika mubarraoona mimma yaqooloona lahummaghfiratun warizqun kareemun |  الخبيثات للخبيثين والخبيثون للخبيثات والطيبات للطيبين والطيبون للطيبات أولئك مبرءون مما يقولون لهم مغفرة ورزق كريمالْخَبِيثَاتُ لِلْخَبِيثِينَ وَالْخَبِيثُونَ لِلْخَبِيثَاتِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَالطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَاتِ أُوْلَئِكَ مُبَرَّؤُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | ناپاک عورتیں ناپاک مردوں کے لئے (مخصوص) ہیں اور پلید مرد پلید عورتوں کے لئے ہیں، اور (اسی طرح) پاک و طیب عورتیں پاکیزہ مردوں کے لئے (مخصوص) ہیں اور پاک و طیب مرد پاکیزہ عورتوں کے لئے ہیں (سو تم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی پاکیزگی و طہارت کو دیکھ کر خود سوچ لیتے کہ اللہ نے ان کے لئے زوجہ بھی کس قدر پاکیزہ و طیب بنائی ہوگی)، یہ (پاکیزہ لوگ) ان (تہمتوں) سے کلیتًا بری ہیں جو یہ (بدزبان) لوگ کہہ رہے ہیں، ان کے لئے (تو) بخشائش اور عزت و بزرگی والی عطا (مقدر ہو چکی) ہے (تم ان کی شان میں زبان درازی کر کے کیوں اپنا منہ کالا اور اپنی آخرت تباہ و برباد کرتے ہو) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Women impure are for men impure, and men impure for women impure and women of purity are for men of purity, and men of purity are for women of purity: these are not affected by what people say: for them there is forgiveness, and a provision honourable.

[24:27] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra buyootikum hattatasta/nisoo watusallimoo AAala ahliha thalikumkhayrun lakum laAAallakum tathakkaroona | يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تدخلوا بيوتا غير بيوتكم حتى تستأنسوا وتسلموا على أهلها ذلكم خير لكم لعلكم تذكرون يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ بُيُوتِكُمْ حَتَّى تَسْتَأْنِسُوا وَتُسَلِّمُوا عَلَى أَهْلِهَا ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! اپنے گھروں کے سوا دوسرے گھروں میں داخل نہ ہوا کرو، یہاں تک کہ تم ان سے اجازت لے لو اور ان کے رہنے والوں کو (داخل ہوتے ہی) سلام کہا کرو، یہ تمہارے لئے بہتر (نصیحت) ہے تاکہ تم (اس کی حکمتوں میں) غور و فکر کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! enter not houses other than your own, until ye have asked permission and saluted those in them: that is best for you, in order that ye may heed (what is seemly).

[24:29] | Laysa AAalaykum junahun an tadkhuloobuyootan ghayra maskoonatin feeha mataAAun lakum waAllahuyaAAlamu ma tubdoona wama taktumoona | ليس عليكم جناح أن تدخلوا بيوتا غير مسكونة فيها متاع لكم والله يعلم ما تبدون وما تكتمون لَّيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُونَةٍ فِيهَا مَتَاعٌ لَّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس میں تم پر گناہ نہیں کہ تم ان مکانات (و عمارات) میں جو کسی کی مستقل رہائش گاہ نہیں ہیں (مثلاً ہوٹل، سرائے اور مسافر خانے وغیرہ میں بغیر اجازت کے) چلے جاؤ (کہ) ان میں تمہیں فائدہ اٹھانے کا حق (حاصل) ہے، اور اللہ ان (سب باتوں) کو جانتا ہے جو تم ظاہر کرتے ہو اور جو تم چھپاتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is no fault on your part to enter houses not used for living in, which serve some (other) use for you: And Allah has knowledge of what ye reveal and what ye conceal.

[24:28] | Fa-in lam tajidoo feeha ahadanfala tadkhulooha hatta yu/thanalakum wa-in qeela lakumu irjiAAoo fairjiAAoo huwa azkalakum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun | فإن لم تجدوا فيها أحدا فلا تدخلوها حتى يؤذن لكم وإن قيل لكم ارجعوا فارجعوا هو أزكى لكم والله بما تعملون عليم فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا فِيهَا أَحَدًا فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا حَتَّى يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ وَإِن قِيلَ لَكُمُ ارْجِعُوا فَارْجِعُوا هُوَ أَزْكَى لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اگر تم ان (گھروں) میں کسی شخص کو موجود نہ پاؤ تو تم ان کے اندر مت جایا کرو یہاں تک کہ تمہیں (اس بات کی) اجازت دی جائے اور اگر تم سے کہا جائے کہ واپس چلے جاؤ تو تم واپس پلٹ جایا کرو، یہ تمہارے حق میں بڑی پاکیزہ بات ہے، اور اللہ ان کاموں سے جو تم کرتے ہو خوب آگاہ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If ye find no one in the house, enter not until permission is given to you: if ye are asked to go back, go back: that makes for greater purity for yourselves: and Allah knows well all that ye do.

[24:30] | Qul lilmu/mineena yaghuddoo min absarihumwayahfathoo furoojahum thalika azkalahum inna Allaha khabeerun bima yasnaAAoona | قل للمؤمنين يغضوا من أبصارهم ويحفظوا فروجهم ذلك أزكى لهم إن الله خبير بما يصنعون قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَلِكَ أَزْكَى لَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ مومن مَردوں سے فرما دیں کہ وہ اپنی نگاہیں نیچی رکھا کریں اور اپنی شرم گاہوں کی حفاظت کیا کریں، یہ ان کے لئے بڑی پاکیزہ بات ہے۔ بیشک اللہ ان کاموں سے خوب آگاہ ہے جو یہ انجام دے رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: And Allah is well acquainted with all that they do.

| 6. [24:32] | Waankihoo al-ayamaminkum waalssaliheena min AAibadikumwa-ima-ikum in yakoonoo fuqaraa yughnihimu Allahumin fadlihi waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun | وأنكحوا الأيامى منكم والصالحين من عبادكم وإمائكم إن يكونوا فقراء يغنهم الله من فضله والله واسع عليم وَأَنكِحُوا الْأَيَامَى مِنكُمْ وَالصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ عِبَادِكُمْ وَإِمَائِكُمْ إِن يَكُونُوا فُقَرَاءَ يُغْنِهِمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم اپنے مردوں اور عورتوں میں سے ان کا نکاح کر دیا کرو جو (عمرِ نکاح کے باوجود) بغیر ازدواجی زندگی کے (رہ رہے) ہوں اور اپنے باصلاحیت غلاموں اور باندیوں کا بھی (نکاح کر دیا کرو)، اگر وہ محتاج ہوں گے (تو) اللہ اپنے فضل سے انہیں غنی کر دے گا، اور اللہ بڑی وسعت والا بڑے علم والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Marry those among you who are single, or the virtuous ones among yourselves, male or female: if they are in poverty, Allah will give them means out of His grace: for Allah encompasseth all, and he knoweth all things.

| Words | |وأنكحوا - And marry| الأيامى - the single| منكم - among you| والصالحين - and the righteous| من - among| عبادكم - your male slaves,| وإمائكم - and your female slaves.| إن - If| يكونوا - they are| فقراء - poor,| يغنهم - Allah will enrich them| الله - Allah will enrich them| من - from| فضله - His Bounty.| والله - And Allah| واسع - (is) All-Encompassing,| عليم - All-Knowing.| | ||||||
| 7. [24:34] | Walaqad anzalna ilaykum ayatinmubayyinatin wamathalan mina allatheena khalaw minqablikum wamawAAithatan lilmuttaqeena | ولقد أنزلنا إليكم آيات مبينات ومثلا من الذين خلوا من قبلكم وموعظة للمتقين وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ آيَاتٍ مُّبَيِّنَاتٍ وَمَثَلًا مِّنَ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے تمہاری طرف واضح اور روشن آیتیں نازل فرمائی ہیں اور کچھ ان لوگوں کی مثالیں (یعنی قصۂ عائشہ کی طرح قصۂ مریم اور قصۂ یوسف) جو تم سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں اور (یہ) پرہیزگاروں کے لئے نصیحت ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have already sent down to you verses making things clear, an illustration from (the story of) people who passed away before you, and an admonition for those who fear (Allah).

[24:36] | Fee buyootin athina Allahu anturfaAAa wayuthkara feeha ismuhu yusabbihulahu feeha bialghuduwwi waal-asali | في بيوت أذن الله أن ترفع ويذكر فيها اسمه يسبح له فيها بالغدو والآصال فِي بُيُوتٍ أَذِنَ اللَّهُ أَن تُرْفَعَ وَيُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ فِيهَا بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اللہ کا یہ نور) ایسے گھروں (مساجد اور مراکز) میں (میسر آتا ہے) جن (کی قدر و منزلت) کے بلند کئے جانے اور جن میں اللہ کے نام کا ذکر کئے جانے کا حکم اللہ نے دیا ہے (یہ وہ گھر ہیں کہ اللہ والے) ان میں صبح و شام اس کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Lit is such a Light) in houses, which Allah hath permitted to be raised to honour; for the celebration, in them, of His name: In them is He glorified in the mornings and in the evenings, (again and again),-

[24:38] | Liyajziyahumu Allahu ahsana maAAamiloo wayazeedahum min fadlihi waAllahuyarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisabin | ليجزيهم الله أحسن ما عملوا ويزيدهم من فضله والله يرزق من يشاء بغير حساب لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ وَاللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تاکہ اللہ انہیں ان (نیک) اعمال کا بہتر بدلہ دے جو انہوں نے کئے ہیں اور اپنے فضل سے انہیں اور (بھی) زیادہ (عطا) فرما دے، اور اللہ جسے چاہتا ہے بغیر حساب کے رزق (و عطا) سے نوازتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace: for Allah doth provide for those whom He will, without measure.

[24:37] | Rijalun la tulheehim tijaratunwala bayAAun AAan thikri Allahi wa-iqamialssalati wa-eeta-i alzzakatiyakhafoona yawman tataqallabu feehi alquloobu waal-absaru | رجال لا تلهيهم تجارة ولا بيع عن ذكر الله وإقام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة يخافون يوما تتقلب فيه القلوب والأبصار رِجَالٌ لَّا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَارَةٌ وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ يَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ الْقُلُوبُ وَالْأَبْصَارُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اللہ کے اس نور کے حامل) وہی مردانِ (خدا) ہیں جنہیں تجارت اور خرید و فروخت نہ اللہ کی یاد سے غافل کرتی ہے اور نہ نماز قائم کرنے سے اور نہ زکوٰۃ ادا کرنے سے (بلکہ دنیوی فرائض کی ادائیگی کے دوران بھی) وہ (ہمہ وقت) اس دن سے ڈرتے رہتے ہیں جس میں (خوف کے باعث) دل اور آنکھیں (سب) الٹ پلٹ ہو جائیں گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | By men whom neither traffic nor merchandise can divert from the Remembrance of Allah, nor from regular Prayer, nor from the practice of regular Charity: Their (only) fear is for the Day when hearts and eyes will be transformed (in a world wholly new),-

| 11. [24:42] | Walillahi mulku alssamawatiwaal-ardi wa-ila Allahi almaseeru | ولله ملك السماوات والأرض وإلى الله المصير وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَصِيرُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور سارے آسمانوں اور زمین کی حکمرانی اللہ ہی کی ہے، اور سب کو اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Yea, to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and to Allah is the final goal (of all).

| Words | |ولله - And to Allah (belongs)| ملك - (the) dominion| السماوات - (of) the heavens| والأرض - and the earth.| وإلى - And to| الله - Allah| المصير - (is) the destination.| | ||||||
| 12. [24:44] | Yuqallibu Allahu allayla waalnnaharainna fee thalika laAAibratan li-olee al-absari | يقلب الله الليل والنهار إن في ذلك لعبرة لأولي الأبصار يُقَلِّبُ اللَّهُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُوْلِي الْأَبْصَارِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ رات اور دن کو (ایک دوسرے کے اوپر) پلٹتا رہتا ہے، اور بیشک اس میں عقل و بصیرت والوں کے لئے (بڑی) رہنمائی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is Allah Who alternates the Night and the Day: verily in these things is an instructive example for those who have vision!

[24:39] | Waallatheena kafaroo aAAmaluhumkasarabin biqeeAAatin yahsabuhu alththam-anumaan hatta itha jaahu lamyajidhu shay-an wawajada Allaha AAindahu fawaffahu hisabahuwaAllahu sareeAAu alhisabi | والذين كفروا أعمالهم كسراب بقيعة يحسبه الظمآن ماء حتى إذا جاءه لم يجده شيئا ووجد الله عنده فوفاه حسابه والله سريع الحساب وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍ بِقِيعَةٍ يَحْسَبُهُ الظَّمْآنُ مَاءً حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَهُ لَمْ يَجِدْهُ شَيْئًا وَوَجَدَ اللَّهَ عِندَهُ فَوَفَّاهُ حِسَابَهُ وَاللَّهُ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کافروں کے اعمال چٹیل میدان میں سراب کی مانند ہیں جس کو پیاسا پانی سمجھتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ جب اس کے پاس آتا ہے تو اسے کچھ (بھی) نہیں پاتا (اسی طرح اس نے آخرت میں) اللہ کو اپنے پاس پایا مگر اللہ نے اس کا پورا حساب (دنیا میں ہی) چکا دیا تھا، اور اللہ جلد حساب کرنے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But the Unbelievers,- their deeds are like a mirage in sandy deserts, which the man parched with thirst mistakes for water; until when he comes up to it, he finds it to be nothing: But he finds Allah (ever) with him, and Allah will pay him his account: and Allah is swift in taking account.

| 14. [24:46] | Laqad anzalna ayatinmubayyinatin waAllahu yahdee man yashaoila siratin mustaqeemin | لقد أنزلنا آيات مبينات والله يهدي من يشاء إلى صراط مستقيم لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَا آيَاتٍ مُّبَيِّنَاتٍ وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یقیناً ہم نے واضح اور روشن بیان والی آیتیں نازل فرمائی ہیں، اور اللہ (ان کے ذریعے) جسے چاہتا ہے سیدھی راہ کی طرف ہدایت فرما دیتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have indeed sent down signs that make things manifest: and Allah guides whom He wills to a way that is straight.

[24:40] | Aw kathulumatin fee bahrinlujjiyyin yaghshahu mawjun min fawqihi mawjun min fawqihisahabun thulumatun baAAduhafawqa baAAdin itha akhraja yadahu lam yakad yarahawaman lam yajAAali Allahu lahu nooran fama lahu minnoorin | أو كظلمات في بحر لجي يغشاه موج من فوقه موج من فوقه سحاب ظلمات بعضها فوق بعض إذا أخرج يده لم يكد يراها ومن لم يجعل الله له نورا فما له من نور أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُّجِّيٍّ يَغْشَاهُ مَوْجٌ مِّن فَوْقِهِ مَوْجٌ مِّن فَوْقِهِ سَحَابٌ ظُلُمَاتٌ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَا أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَاهَا وَمَن لَّمْ يَجْعَلِ اللَّهُ لَهُ نُورًا فَمَا لَهُ مِن نُّورٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یا (کافروں کے اعمال) اس گہرے سمندر کی تاریکیوں کی مانند ہیں جسے موج نے ڈھانپا ہوا ہو (پھر) اس کے اوپر ایک اور موج ہو (اور) اس کے اوپر بادل ہوں (یہ تہ در تہ) تاریکیاں ایک دوسرے کے اوپر ہیں، جب (ایسے سمندر میں ڈوبنے والا کوئی شخص) اپنا ہاتھ باہر نکالے تو اسے (کوئی بھی) دیکھ نہ سکے، اور جس کے لئے اللہ ہی نے نورِ (ہدایت) نہیں بنایا تو اس کے لئے (کہیں بھی) نور نہیں ہوتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!

[24:41] | Alam tara anna Allaha yusabbihulahu man fee alssamawati waal-ardiwaalttayru saffatin kullun qadAAalima salatahu watasbeehahu waAllahuAAaleemun bima yafAAaloona | ألم تر أن الله يسبح له من في السماوات والأرض والطير صافات كل قد علم صلاته وتسبيحه والله عليم بما يفعلون أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالطَّيْرُ صَافَّاتٍ كُلٌّ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُ وَتَسْبِيحَهُ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ جو کوئی بھی آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے وہ (سب) اللہ ہی کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں اور پرندے (بھی فضاؤں میں) پر پھیلائے ہوئے (اسی کی تسبیح کرتے ہیں)، ہر ایک (اللہ کے حضور) اپنی نماز اور اپنی تسبیح کو جانتا ہے، اور اللہ ان کاموں سے خوب آگاہ ہے جو وہ انجام دیتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Seest thou not that it is Allah Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And Allah knows well all that they do.

[24:47] | Wayaqooloona amanna biAllahiwabialrrasooli waataAAna thumma yatawallafareequn minhum min baAAdi thalika wama ola-ikabialmu/mineena | ويقولون آمنا بالله وبالرسول وأطعنا ثم يتولى فريق منهم من بعد ذلك وما أولئك بالمؤمنين وَيَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعْنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّى فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم مِّن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَمَا أُوْلَئِكَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ (لوگ) کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر ایمان لے آئے ہیں اور اطاعت کرتے ہیں پھر اس (قول) کے بعد ان میں سے ایک گروہ (اپنے اقرار سے) رُوگردانی کرتا ہے، اور یہ لوگ (حقیقت میں) مومن (ہی) نہیں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They say, "We believe in Allah and in the messenger, and we obey": but even after that, some of them turn away: they are not (really) Believers.

[24:43] | Alam tara anna Allaha yuzjee sahabanthumma yu-allifu baynahu thumma yajAAaluhu rukaman fataraalwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi wayunazzilu mina alssama-imin jibalin feeha min baradin fayuseebu bihiman yashao wayasrifuhu AAan man yashao yakadusana barqihi yathhabu bial-absari | ألم تر أن الله يزجي سحابا ثم يؤلف بينه ثم يجعله ركاما فترى الودق يخرج من خلاله وينزل من السماء من جبال فيها من برد فيصيب به من يشاء ويصرفه عن من يشاء يكاد سنا برقه يذهب بالأبصار أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُزْجِي سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيْنَهُ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ رُكَامًا فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَالِهِ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِن جِبَالٍ فِيهَا مِن بَرَدٍ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَصْرِفُهُ عَن مَّن يَشَاءُ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِ يَذْهَبُ بِالْأَبْصَارِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ ہی بادل کو (پہلے) آہستہ آہستہ چلاتا ہے پھر اس (کے مختلف ٹکڑوں) کو آپس میں ملا دیتا ہے پھر اسے تہ بہ تہ بنا دیتا ہے پھر تم دیکھتے ہو کہ اس کے درمیان خالی جگہوں سے بارش نکل کر برستی ہے، اور وہ اسی آسمان (یعنی فضا) میں برفانی پہاڑوں کی طرح (دکھائی دینے والے) بادلوں میں سے اولے برساتا ہے، پھر جس پر چاہتا ہے ان اولوں کو گراتا ہے اور جس سے چاہتا ہے ان کو پھیر دیتا ہے (مزید یہ کہ انہی بادلوں سے بجلی بھی پیدا کرتا ہے)، یوں لگتا ہے کہ اس (بادل) کی بجلی کی چمک آنکھوں (کو خیرہ کر کے ان) کی بینائی اچک لے جائے گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? - then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases, the vivid flash of His lightning well-nigh blinds the sight.

[24:45] | WaAllahu khalaqa kulla dabbatinmin ma-in faminhum man yamshee AAala batnihiwaminhum man yamshee AAala rijlayni waminhum man yamsheeAAala arbaAAin yakhluqu Allahu ma yashaoinna Allaha AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun | والله خلق كل دابة من ماء فمنهم من يمشي على بطنه ومنهم من يمشي على رجلين ومنهم من يمشي على أربع يخلق الله ما يشاء إن الله على كل شيء قدير وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَابَّةٍ مِن مَّاءٍ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِي عَلَى بَطْنِهِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِي عَلَى رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِي عَلَى أَرْبَعٍ يَخْلُقُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے ہر چلنے پھرنے والے (جاندار) کی پیدائش (کی کیمیائی ابتداء) پانی سے فرمائی، پھر ان میں سے بعض وہ ہوئے جو اپنے پیٹ کے بل چلتے ہیں اور ان میں سے بعض وہ ہوئے جو دو پاؤں پر چلتے ہیں، اور ان میں سے بعض وہ ہوئے جو چار (پیروں) پر چلتے ہیں، اللہ جو چاہتا ہے پیدا فرماتا رہتا ہے، بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر بڑا قادر ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Allah has created every animal from water: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills for verily Allah has power over all things.

| 20. [24:48] | Wa-itha duAAoo ila Allahiwarasoolihi liyahkuma baynahum itha fareequn minhummuAAridoona | وإذا دعوا إلى الله ورسوله ليحكم بينهم إذا فريق منهم معرضون وَإِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ان لوگوں کو اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف بلایا جاتا ہے کہ وہ ان کے درمیان فیصلہ فرما دے تو اس وقت ان میں سے ایک گروہ (دربارِ رسالت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم میں آنے سے) گریزاں ہوتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When they are summoned to Allah and His messenger, in order that He may judge between them, behold some of them decline (to come).

| 21. [24:49] | Wa-in yakun lahumu alhaqqu ya/tooilayhi muthAAineena | وإن يكن لهم الحق يأتوا إليه مذعنين وَإِن يَكُن لَّهُمُ الْحَقُّ يَأْتُوا إِلَيْهِ مُذْعِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر وہ حق والے ہوتے تو وہ اس (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف مطیع ہو کر تیزی سے چلے آتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But if the right is on their side, they come to him with all submission.

[24:50] | Afee quloobihim maradun ami irtabooam yakhafoona an yaheefa Allahu AAalayhimwarasooluhu bal ola-ika humu alththalimoona | أفي قلوبهم مرض أم ارتابوا أم يخافون أن يحيف الله عليهم ورسوله بل أولئك هم الظالمون أَفِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَمِ ارْتَابُوا أَمْ يَخَافُونَ أَن يَحِيفَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَرَسُولُهُ بَلْ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا ان کے دلوں میں (منافقت کی) بیماری ہے یا وہ (شانِ رسالت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم میں) شک کرتے ہیں یا وہ اس بات کا اندیشہ رکھتے ہیں کہ اللہ اور اس کا رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) ان پر ظلم کریں گے، (نہیں) بلکہ وہی لوگ خود ظالم ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Is it that there is a disease in their hearts? or do they doubt, or are they in fear, that Allah and His Messenger will deal unjustly with them? Nay, it is they themselves who do wrong.

[24:51] | Innama kana qawla almu/mineenaitha duAAoo ila Allahi warasoolihi liyahkumabaynahum an yaqooloo samiAAna waataAAna waola-ikahumu almuflihoona | إنما كان قول المؤمنين إذا دعوا إلى الله ورسوله ليحكم بينهم أن يقولوا سمعنا وأطعنا وأولئك هم المفلحون إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن يَقُولُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ایمان والوں کی بات تو فقط یہ ہوتی ہے کہ جب انہیں اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف بلایا جاتا ہے تاکہ وہ ان کے درمیان فیصلہ فرمائے تو وہ یہی کچھ کہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا، اور ہم (سراپا) اطاعت پیرا ہو گئے، اور ایسے ہی لوگ فلاح پانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The answer of the Believers, when summoned to Allah and His Messenger, in order that He may judge between them, is no other than this: they say, "We hear and we obey": it is such as these that will attain felicity.

| 24. [24:52] | Waman yutiAAi Allahawarasoolahu wayakhsha Allaha wayattaqhi faola-ikahumu alfa-izoona | ومن يطع الله ورسوله ويخش الله ويتقه فأولئك هم الفائزون وَمَن يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَخْشَ اللَّهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو شخص اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی اطاعت کرتا ہے اور اللہ سے ڈرتا اور اس کا تقوٰی اختیار کرتا ہے پس ایسے ہی لوگ مراد پانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is such as obey Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah and do right, that will win (in the end),

[24:53] | Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihimla-in amartahum layakhrujunna qul la tuqsimoo taAAatunmaAAroofatun inna Allaha khabeerun bima taAAmaloona | وأقسموا بالله جهد أيمانهم لئن أمرتهم ليخرجن قل لا تقسموا طاعة معروفة إن الله خبير بما تعملون وَأَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ لَئِنْ أَمَرْتَهُمْ لَيَخْرُجُنَّ قُل لَّا تُقْسِمُوا طَاعَةٌ مَّعْرُوفَةٌ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيْرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ لوگ اللہ کی بڑی بھاری (تاکیدی) قَسمیں کھاتے ہیں کہ اگر آپ انہیں حکم دیں تو وہ (جہاد کے لئے) ضرور نکلیں گے، آپ فرما دیں کہ تم قَسمیں مت کھاؤ (بلکہ) معروف طریقہ سے فرمانبرداری (درکار) ہے، بیشک اللہ ان کاموں سے خوب آگاہ ہے جو تم کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They swear their strongest oaths by Allah that, if only thou wouldst command them, they would leave (their homes). Say: "Swear ye not; Obedience is (more) reasonable; verily, Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do."

| 26. [24:56] | Waaqeemoo alssalata waatooalzzakata waateeAAoo alrrasoolalaAAallakum turhamoona | وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وأطيعوا الرسول لعلكم ترحمون وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم نماز (کے نظام) کو قائم رکھو اور زکوٰۃ کی ادائیگی (کا انتظام) کرتے رہو اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی (مکمل) اطاعت بجا لاؤ تاکہ تم پر رحم فرمایا جائے (یعنی غلبہ و اقتدار، استحکام اور امن و حفاظت کی نعمتوں کو برقرار رکھا جائے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and obey the Messenger; that ye may receive mercy.

| 27. [24:57] | La tahsabanna allatheenakafaroo muAAjizeena fee al-ardi wama/wahumu alnnaruwalabi/sa almaseeru | لا تحسبن الذين كفروا معجزين في الأرض ومأواهم النار ولبئس المصير لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ وَلَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہ خیال ہر گز نہ کرنا کہ انکار و ناشکری کرنے والے لوگ زمین میں (اپنے ہلاک کئے جانے سے اللہ کو) عاجز کر دیں گے، اور ان کا ٹھکانا دوزخ ہے، اور وہ بہت ہی برا ٹھکانا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Never think thou that the Unbelievers are going to frustrate (Allah's Plan) on earth: their abode is the Fire,- and it is indeed an evil refuge!

[24:54] | Qul ateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAooalrrasoola fa-in tawallaw fa-innama AAalayhi mahummila waAAalaykum ma hummiltum wa-in tuteeAAoohutahtadoo wama AAala alrrasooli illaalbalaghu almubeena | قل أطيعوا الله وأطيعوا الرسول فإن تولوا فإنما عليه ما حمل وعليكم ما حملتم وإن تطيعوه تهتدوا وما على الرسول إلا البلاغ المبين قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُم مَّا حُمِّلْتُمْ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | فرما دیجئے: تم اللہ کی اطاعت کرو اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی اطاعت کرو، پھر اگر تم نے (اطاعت) سے رُوگردانی کی تو (جان لو) رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے ذمہ وہی کچھ ہے جو ان پر لازم کیا گیا اور تمہارے ذمہ وہ ہے جو تم پر لازم کیا گیا ہے، اور اگر تم ان کی اطاعت کرو گے تو ہدایت پا جاؤ گے، اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر (احکام کو) صریحاً پہنچا دینے کے سوا (کچھ لازم) نہیں ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say: "Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance. The Messenger's duty is only to preach the clear (Message).

[24:55] | WaAAada Allahu allatheena amanoominkum waAAamiloo alssalihatilayastakhlifannahum fee al-ardi kama istakhlafaallatheena min qablihim walayumakkinanna lahum deenahumuallathee irtada lahum walayubaddilannahum minbaAAdi khawfihim amnan yaAAbudoonanee la yushrikoona beeshay-an waman kafara baAAda thalika faola-ika humualfasiqoona | وعد الله الذين آمنوا منكم وعملوا الصالحات ليستخلفنهم في الأرض كما استخلف الذين من قبلهم وليمكنن لهم دينهم الذي ارتضى لهم وليبدلنهم من بعد خوفهم أمنا يعبدونني لا يشركون بي شيئا ومن كفر بعد ذلك فأولئك هم الفاسقون وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُم فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّن بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اللہ نے ایسے لوگوں سے وعدہ فرمایا ہے (جس کا ایفا اور تعمیل امت پر لازم ہے) جو تم میں سے ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے وہ ضرور انہی کو زمین میں خلافت (یعنی امانتِ اقتدار کا حق) عطا فرمائے گا جیسا کہ اس نے ان لوگوں کو (حقِ) حکومت بخشا تھا جو ان سے پہلے تھے اور ان کے لئے ان کے دین کو جسے اس نے ان کے لئے پسند فرمایا ہے (غلبہ و اقتدار کے ذریعہ) مضبوط و مستحکم فرما دے گا اور وہ ضرور (اس تمکّن کے باعث) ان کے پچھلے خوف کو (جو ان کی سیاسی، معاشی اور سماجی کمزوری کی وجہ سے تھا) ان کے لئے امن و حفاظت کی حالت سے بدل دے گا، وہ (بے خوف ہو کر) میری عبادت کریں گے میرے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہیں ٹھہرائیں گے (یعنی صرف میرے حکم اور نظام کے تابع رہیں گے)، اور جس نے اس کے بعد ناشکری (یعنی میرے احکام سے انحراف و انکار) کو اختیار کیا تو وہی لوگ فاسق (و نافرمان) ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion - the one which He has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they (lived), to one of security and peace: 'They will worship Me (alone) and not associate aught with Me. 'If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.

[24:59] | Wa-itha balagha al-atfaluminkumu alhuluma falyasta/thinoo kama ista/thanaallatheena min qablihim kathalika yubayyinu Allahulakum ayatihi waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun | وإذا بلغ الأطفال منكم الحلم فليستأذنوا كما استأذن الذين من قبلهم كذلك يبين الله لكم آياته والله عليم حكيم وَإِذَا بَلَغَ الْأَطْفَالُ مِنكُمُ الْحُلُمَ فَلْيَسْتَأْذِنُوا كَمَا اسْتَأْذَنَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب تم میں سے بچے حدِ بلوغ کو پہنچ جائیں تو وہ (تمہارے پاس آنے کے لئے) اجازت لیا کریں جیسا کہ ان سے پہلے (دیگر بالغ افراد) اجازت لیتے رہتے ہیں۔ اس طرح اللہ تمہارے لئے اپنے احکام خُوب واضح فرماتا ہے، اور اللہ خوب علم والا اور حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But when the children among you come of age, let them (also) ask for permission, as do those senior to them (in age): Thus does Allah make clear His Signs to you: for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.
