Ith tamshee okhtuka fataqoolu haladullukum AAala man yakfuluhu farajaAAnaka ilaommika kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzanawaqatalta nafsan fanajjaynaka mina alghammi wafatannakafutoonan falabithta sineena fee ahli madyana thumma ji/ta AAalaqadarin ya moosa إذ تمشي أختك فتقول هل أدلكم على من يكفله فرجعناك إلى أمك كي تقر عينها ولا تحزن وقتلت نفسا فنجيناك من الغم وفتناك فتونا فلبثت سنين في أهل مدين ثم جئت على قدر يا موسى
إِذْ تَمْشِي أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَن يَكْفُلُهُ فَرَجَعْنَاكَ إِلَى أُمِّكَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَاكَ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّاكَ فُتُونًا فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَى قَدَرٍ يَا مُوسَى

  اور جب تمہاری بہن (اجنبی بن کر) چلتے چلتے (فرعون کے گھر والوں سے) کہنے لگی: کیا میں تمہیں کسی (ایسی عورت) کی نشاندہی کر دوں جو اس (بچہ) کی پرورش کر دے، پھر ہم نے تم کو تمہاری والدہ کی طرف (پرورش کے بہانے) واپس لوٹا دیا تاکہ اس کی آنکھ بھی ٹھنڈی ہوتی رہے اور وہ رنجیدہ بھی نہ ہو، اور تم نے (قومِ فرعون کے) ایک (کافر) شخص کو مار ڈالا تھا پھر ہم نے تمہیں (اس) غم سے (بھی) نجات بخشی اور ہم نے تمہیں بہت سی آزمائشوں سے گزار کر خوب جانچا، پھر تم کئی سال اہلِ مدین میں ٹھہرے رہے پھر تم (اللہ کے) مقرر کردہ وقت پر (یہاں) آگئے اے موسٰی! (اس وقت ان کی عمر ٹھیک چالیس برس ہوگئی تھی)

Yousuf Ali"Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!

Ahmed Aliجب تیری بہن کہتی جا رہی تھی کیا تمہیں ایسی عورت بتاؤں جو اسے اچھی طرح پالے پھر ہم نے تجھے تیری ماں کے پاس پہنچا دیا کہ اس کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی ہو اور غم نہ کھائے اور تو نے ایک شخص کو مار ڈالا پھر ہم نے تجھے اس غم سے نکالا اور ہم نے تجھے کئی مرتبہ آزمائش میں ڈالا پھر تو مدین والوں میں کئی برس رہا پھر تو اے موسیٰ تقدیر سے یہاں آیا
Ahmed Raza Khanتیری بہن چلی پھر کہا کیا میں تمہیں وہ لوگ بتادوں جو اس بچہ کی پرورش کریں تو ہم تجھے تیری ماں کے پاس پھیر لائے کہ اس کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی ہو اور غم نہ کرے اور تو نے ایک جان کو قتل کیا تو ہم نے تجھے غم سے نجات دی اور تجھے خوب جانچ لیا تُو تو کئی برس مدین والوں میں رہا پھر تو ایک ٹھہرائے وعدہ پر حاضر ہوا اے موسیٰ!
Shabbir Ahmed (پھر وہ وقت) جبکہ چل رہی تھی تمہاری بہن اور اُس نے کہا تھا کیا میں پتہ دُوں تمہیں ایسے شخص کا جو اس کی پرورش کرے؟ اور اس طرح لوٹا دیا ہم نے تمہیں تمہاری ماں کے پاس تاکہ ٹھنڈی ہو اُس کی آنکھیں اور تاکہ نہ غمگین ہو۔ اور قتل کردیا تھا تم نے ایک شخص کو پھر نجات دلائی تھی ہم نے تمہیں اس پھندے سے اور آزمایا تھا ہم نے تمہیں طرح طرح کی آزمائشوں سے، پھر ٹھہرے رہے تم کئی سال اہلِ مدین کے پاس، پھر اب تم آگئے ہو تقدیر میں طے شدہ وقت پر اے موسیٰ۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyجب تمہاری بہن (فرعون کے ہاں) گئی اور کہنے لگی کہ میں تمہیں ایسا شخص بتاؤں جو اس کو پالے۔ تو (اس طریق سے) ہم نے تم کو تمہاری ماں کے پاس پہنچا دیا تاکہ ان کی آنکھیں ٹھنڈی ہوں اور وہ رنج نہ کریں۔ اور تم نے ایک شخص کو مار ڈالا تو ہم نے تم کو غم سے مخلصی دی اور ہم نے تمہاری (کئی بار) آزمائش کی۔ پھر تم کئی سال اہل مدین میں ٹھہرے رہے۔ پھر اے موسیٰ تم (قابلیت رسالت کے) اندازے پر آ پہنچے

Abul Ala Maududiیاد کر جبکہ تیری بہن چل رہی تھی، پھر جا کر کہتی ہے، "میں تمہیں اُس کا پتہ دوں جو اِس بچے کی پرورش اچھی طرح کرے؟" اس طرح ہم نے تجھے پھر تیری ماں کے پاس پہنچا دیا تاکہ اُس کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی رہے اور وہ رنجیدہ نہ ہو اور (یہ بھی یاد کر کہ) تو نے ایک شخص کو قتل کر دیا تھا، ہم نے تجھے اِس پھندے سے نکالا اور تجھے مختلف آزمائشوں سے گزارا اور تو مَدیَن کے لوگوں میں کئی سال ٹھیرا رہا پھر اب ٹھیک اپنے وقت پر تو آ گیا ہے اے موسیٰؑ

Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree.

We thus returned you to your mother, that she may be consoled and stop worrying. When you grew up, you accidentally killed a man who was beating up another man (28:15). We resolved this matter for you when you were going through trying periods. Then you dwelt among the Midyanites (with Prophet Shoaib) for several years. (Then you walked between the two streams, one of intellect and one of Revelation, to the point where they joined (18:65)). And now you are here as ordained, O Moses.
