Wala tamuddanna AAaynayka ilama mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum zahrata alhayatialddunya linaftinahum feehi warizqu rabbika khayrunwaabqa ولا تمدن عينيك إلى ما متعنا به أزواجا منهم زهرة الحياة الدنيا لنفتنهم فيه ورزق ربك خير وأبقى
وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى

  اور آپ دنیوی زندگی میں زیب و آرائش کی ان چیزوں کی طرف حیرت و تعجب کی نگاہ نہ فرمائیں جو ہم نے (کافر دنیاداروں کے) بعض طبقات کو (عارضی) لطف اندوزی کے لئے دے رکھی ہیں تاکہ ہم ان (ہی چیزوں) میں ان کے لئے فتنہ پیدا کر دیں، اور آپ کے رب کی (اخروی) عطا بہتر اور ہمیشہ باقی رہنے والی ہے

Yousuf AliNor strain thine eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to parties of them, the splendour of the life of this world, through which We test them: but the provision of thy Lord is better and more enduring.

Ahmed Aliاور تو اپنی نظر ان چیزو ں کی طرف نہ دوڑا جو ہم نے مختلف قسم کے لوگوں کو دنیاوی زندگی کی رونق کے سامان دے رکھے ہیں تاکہ ہم انہیں اس میں آزمائیں او رتیرے رب کا رزق بہتر اور دیرپا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khanاور اے سننے والے اپنی آنکھیں نہ پھیلا اس کی طرف جو ہم نے کافروں کے جوڑوں کو برتنے کے لیے دی ہے جتنی دنیا کی تازگی کہ ہم انہیں اس کے سبب فتنہ میں ڈالیں اور تیرے رب کا رزق سب سے اچھا اور سب سے دیرپا ہے،
Shabbir Ahmedاور نہ آنکھ اُٹھا کر دیکھو تم اس کی طرف جو ساز و سامانِ (دینوی) دیا ہے ہم نے ان میں سے مختلف قسم کے لوگوں کو جو شان و شوکت ہے دُنیاوی زندگی کی۔ تاکہ آزمائش کریں ہم ان کی اُس سے۔ اور تیرے رب کا دیا ہُوا رزق ہے بہتر اور باقی رہنے والا۔

Abul Ala Maududiاور نگاہ اُٹھا کر بھی نہ دیکھو دُنیوی زندگی کی اُس شان و شوکت کو جو ہم نے اِن میں سے مختلف قسم کے لوگوں کو دے رکھی ہے وہ تو ہم نے انہیں آزمائش میں ڈالنے کے لیے دی ہے، اور تیرے رب کا دیا ہوا رزق حلال ہی بہتر اور پائندہ تر ہے

LiteralAnd do not extend/spread your two eyes to what We gave long life/made enjoy with it (to) spouses/couples from them, the life the present's/worldly life's flower/splendor , to test them in it, and your Lord's provision (is) better and more lasting .

ShakirAnd do not stretch your eyes after that with which We have provided different classes of them, (of) the splendor of this world's life, that We may thereby try them; and the sustenance (given) by your Lord is better and more abiding.
SarwarDo not be envious of what We have given to some people as means of enjoyment and worldly delight. Such means are a trial for them, but the reward that you will receive from your Lord will be far better and everlasting.
H/K/SaheehAnd do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
MalikDo not strain your eyes with envy regarding the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some among them, for with these We seek to test them, the lawful provision of your Lord is better and more lasting.[131]

Free MindsAnd do not strain your eyes on what We have given other people as luxuries of this worldly life, where We are testing them with it. The provision of your Lord is better and more lasting.
Qaribullah Do not stretch your eyes at the flower of this life which We have given couples to enjoy, it is with this that We might try them; and the provision of your Lord is better, and more enduring.

AsadAnd never turn thine, eyes [with longing] towards whatever splendour of this world's life We may have allowed so many others to enjoy in order that We might test them thereby: for the sustenance which thy Sustainer provides [for thee] is better and more enduring.
Khalifa**And do not covet what we bestowed upon any other people. Such are temporary ornaments of this life, whereby we put them to the test. What your Lord provides for you is far better, and everlasting.
Hilali/Khan**And strain not your eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to various groups of them (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah), the splendour of the life of this world that We may test them thereby. But the provision (good reward in the Hereafter) of your Lord is better and more lasting.
QXP Shabbir Ahemd**And turn not your eyes towards the splendor of the worldly life We have caused many to enjoy. (15:88). Thereby We put them to test. (A chance for them to walk aright or turn away (104:6-7)). The provision of you Lord is better and more lasting. (13:17).
