| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [2:96] | Walatajidannahum ahrasa alnnasiAAala hayatin wamina allatheenaashrakoo yawaddu ahaduhum law yuAAammaru alfa sanatin wamahuwa bimuzahzihihi mina alAAathabi anyuAAammara waAllahu baseerun bimayaAAmaloona |  ولتجدنهم أحرص الناس على حياة ومن الذين أشركوا يود أحدهم لو يعمر ألف سنة وما هو بمزحزحه من العذاب أن يعمر والله بصير بما يعملونوَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْ يُّعَمَّرَ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ انہیں یقیناً سب لوگوں سے زیادہ جینے کی ہوس میں مبتلا پائیں گے اور (یہاں تک کہ) مشرکوں سے بھی زیادہ، ان میں سے ہر ایک چاہتا ہے کہ کاش اسے ہزار برس کی عمر مل جائے، اگر اسے اتنی عمر مل بھی جائے، تو بھی یہ اسے عذاب سے بچانے والی نہیں ہو سکتی، اور اللہ ان کے اعمال کو خوب دیکھ رہا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do.

| Literal | And you will find them (E) the people most holding stingily and desiring strongly on (a) life/existence and from those who shared/made partners with God, any of them wishes/loves if he be granted long life (a) thousand years, and it is not with moving/hurriedly pushing him from the torture, that he be granted long life ,and God (is) seeing/understanding with what they make/do/work. | ||||||
