| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [2:60] | Wa-ithi istasqa moosaliqawmihi faqulna idrib biAAasaka alhajarafainfajarat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qadAAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum kuloo waishraboomin rizqi Allahi wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideena |  وإذ استسقى موسى لقومه فقلنا اضرب بعصاك الحجر فانفجرت منه اثنتا عشرة عينا قد علم كل أناس مشربهم كلوا واشربوا من رزق الله ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدينوَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَى مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْناً قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ كُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ مِن رِّزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ تَعْثَوْاْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (وہ وقت بھی یا دکرو) جب موسیٰ (علیہ السلام) نے اپنی قوم کے لئے پانی مانگا تو ہم نے فرمایا: اپنا عصا اس پتھر پر مارو، پھر اس (پتھر) سے بارہ چشمے پھوٹ پڑے، واقعۃً ہر گروہ نے اپنا اپنا گھاٹ پہچان لیا، (ہم نے فرمایا:) اﷲ کے (عطا کردہ) رزق میں سے کھاؤ اور پیو لیکن زمین میں فساد انگیزی نہ کرتے پھرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And remember Moses prayed for water for his people; We said: "Strike the rock with thy staff." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each group knew its own place for water. So eat and drink of the sustenance provided by Allah, and do no evil nor mischief on the (face of the) earth.

| Abul Ala Maududi | یاد کرو، جب موسیٰؑ نے اپنی قوم کے لیے پانی کی دعا کی تو ہم نے کہا کہ فلاں چٹان پر اپنا عصا مارو چنانچہ اس سے بارہ چشمے پھوٹ نکلے اور ہر قبیلے نے جان لیا کہ کونسی جگہ اس کے پانی لینے کی ہے اُس وقت یہ ہدایت کر دی گئی تھی کہ اللہ کا دیا ہوا رزق کھاؤ پیو، اور زمین میں فساد نہ پھیلاتے پھرو | ||||||

| Literal | And when Moses asked for drink for his nation, so We said: "Hit/move/palpitate with your stick/cane the stone, so twelve water springs/wells burst/flowed from it, each people had known their drinking place. Eat and drink from God's provision and do not corrupt in the Earth/land corrupting/disordering ." | ||||||

Moses said, "Eat and drink of what Allah has provided, and desist from creating inequity and disorder in the land." | ||||||
