| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[2:55] | Wa-ith qultum ya moosalan nu/mina laka hatta nara Allahajahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantumtanthuroona |  وإذ قلتم يا موسى لن نؤمن لك حتى نرى الله جهرة فأخذتكم الصاعقة وأنتم تنظرونوَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَا مُوسَى لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّى نَرَى اللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب تم نے کہا: اے موسیٰ! ہم آپ پر ہرگز ایمان نہ لائیں گے یہاں تک کہ ہم اللہ کو (آنکھوں کے سامنے) بالکل آشکارا دیکھ لیں پس (اس پر) تمہیں کڑک نے آلیا (جو تمہاری موت کا باعث بن گئی) اور تم (خود یہ منظر) دیکھتے رہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And remember ye said: "O Moses! We shall never believe in thee until we see Allah manifestly," but ye were dazed with thunder and lighting even as ye looked on.

(This happened because you had programmed your minds into the primitive ways of the "age of worship" when humans could only appreciate the tangible. At that level of intellect, humans come to fear natural phenomena). Thus, when you saw the lightening thunder (and the challenges of life) you almost fell dead in fright. (Losing your reason (7:155)). | ||||||
