Yas-aloonaka AAani alkhamri waalmaysiriqul feehima ithmun kabeerun wamanafiAAu lilnnasiwa-ithmuhuma akbaru min nafAAihima wayas-aloonaka mathayunfiqoona quli alAAafwa kathalika yubayyinu Allahulakumu al-ayati laAAallakum tatafakkaroona يسألونك عن الخمر والميسر قل فيهما إثم كبير ومنافع للناس وإثمهما أكبر من نفعهما ويسألونك ماذا ينفقون قل العفو كذلك يبين الله لكم الآيات لعلكم تتفكرون
يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثْمُهُمَآ أَكْبَرُ مِن نَّفْعِهِمَا وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَ قُلِ الْعَفْوَ كَذَلِكَ يُبيِّنُ اللّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

  آپ سے شراب اور جوئے کی نسبت سوال کرتے ہیں، فرما دیں: ان دونوں میں بڑا گناہ ہے اور لوگوں کے لئے کچھ (دنیوی) فائدے بھی ہیں مگر ان دونوں کا گناہ ان کے نفع سے بڑھ کر ہے، اور آپ سے یہ بھی پوچھتے ہیں کہ کیا کچھ خرچ کریں؟ فرما دیں: جو ضرورت سے زائد ہے (خرچ کر دو)، اسی طرح اﷲ تمہارے لئے (اپنے) احکام کھول کر بیان فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم غور و فکر کرو
