| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [2:72] | Wa-ith qataltum nafsan faiddara/tumfeeha waAllahu mukhrijun ma kuntumtaktumoona |  وإذ قتلتم نفسا فادارأتم فيها والله مخرج ما كنتم تكتمونوَإِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْساً فَادَّارَأْتُمْ فِيهَا وَاللّهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنْـتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب تم نے ایک شخص کو قتل کر دیا پھر تم آپس میں اس (کے الزام) میں جھگڑنے لگے، اور اللہ (وہ بات) ظاہر فرمانے والا تھا جسے تم چھپا رہے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Remember ye slew a man and fell into a dispute among yourselves as to the crime: But Allah was to bring forth what ye did hide.

| Words | |وإذ - And when| قتلتم - you killed| نفسا - a man,| فادارأتم - then you disputed| فيها - concerning it,| والله - but Allah| مخرج - (is) the One Who brought forth| ما - what| كنتم - you were| تكتمون - concealing.| | ||||||

[2:71] | Qala innahu yaqoolu innahabaqaratun la thaloolun tutheeru al-arda walatasqee alhartha musallamatun la shiyata feehaqaloo al-ana ji/ta bialhaqqi fathabahoohawama kadoo yafAAaloona | قال إنه يقول إنها بقرة لا ذلول تثير الأرض ولا تسقي الحرث مسلمة لا شية فيها قالوا الآن جئت بالحق فذبحوها وما كادوا يفعلون قَالَ إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لاَّ ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ الْأَرْضَ وَلاَ تَسْقِي الْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لاَّ شِيَةَ فِيهَا قَالُواْ الْآنَ جِئْتَ بِالْحَقِّ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُواْ يَفْعَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے کہا:) اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے (وہ کوئی گھٹیا گائے نہیں بلکہ) یقینی طور پر ایسی (اعلیٰ) گائے ہو جس سے نہ زمین میں ہل چلانے کی محنت لی جاتی ہو اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دیتی ہو، بالکل تندرست ہو اس میں کوئی داغ دھبہ بھی نہ ہو، انہوں نے کہا: اب آپ ٹھیک بات لائے (ہیں)، پھر انہوں نے اس کو ذبح کیا حالانکہ وہ ذبح کرتے معلوم نہ ہوتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will.

| Words | |قال - He said,| إنه - "Indeed, He| يقول - says,| إنها - "[Indeed] it| بقرة - (is) a cow| لا - not| ذلول - trained| تثير - to plough| الأرض - the earth,| ولا - and not| تسقي - water| الحرث - the field;| مسلمة - sound,| لا - no| شية - blemish| فيها - in it."| قالوا - They said,| الآن - "Now| جئت - you have come| بالحق - with the truth."| فذبحوها - So they slaughtered it,| وما - and not| كادوا - they were near| يفعلون - (to) doing (it).| | ||||||

[2:73] | Faqulna idriboohu bibaAAdihakathalika yuhyee Allahu almawtawayureekum ayatihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona | فقلنا اضربوه ببعضها كذلك يحيي الله الموتى ويريكم آياته لعلكم تعقلون فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبُوهُ بِبَعْضِهَا كَذَلِكَ يُحْيِ اللّهُ الْمَوْتَى وَيُرِيْكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر ہم نے حکم دیا کہ اس (مُردہ) پر اس (گائے) کا ایک ٹکڑا مارو، اسی طرح اللہ مُردوں کو زندہ فرماتا ہے (یا قیامت کے دن مُردوں کو زندہ کرے گا) اور تمہیں اپنی نشانیاں دکھاتا ہے تاکہ تم عقل و شعور سے کام لو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So We said: "Strike the (body) with a piece of the (heifer)." Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His Signs: Perchance ye may understand.

| Words | |فقلنا - So We said,| اضربوه - "Strike him| ببعضها - with a part of it."| كذلك - Like this| يحيي - revives| الله - Allah| الموتى - the dead,| ويريكم - and shows you| آياته - His Signs,| لعلكم - perhaps you may| تعقلون - use your intellect.| | ||||||

[2:74] | Thumma qasat quloobukum min baAAdi thalikafahiya kaalhijarati aw ashaddu qaswatanwa-inna mina alhijarati lama yatafajjaruminhu al-anharu wa-inna minha lamayashshaqqaqu fayakhruju minhu almao wa-inna minhalama yahbitu min khashyati Allahi wamaAllahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona | ثم قست قلوبكم من بعد ذلك فهي كالحجارة أو أشد قسوة وإن من الحجارة لما يتفجر منه الأنهار وإن منها لما يشقق فيخرج منه الماء وإن منها لما يهبط من خشية الله وما الله بغافل عما تعملون ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ كَالْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الأَنْهَارُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَاءُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللّهِ وَمَا اللّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اس کے بعد (بھی) تمہارے دل سخت ہوگئے چنانچہ وہ (سختی میں) پتھروں جیسے (ہوگئے) ہیں یا ان سے بھی زیادہ سخت (ہو چکے ہیں، اس لئے کہ) بیشک پتھروں میں (تو) بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جن سے نہریں پھوٹ نکلتی ہیں، اور یقیناً ان میں سے بعض وہ (پتھر) بھی ہیں جو پھٹ جاتے ہیں تو ان سے پانی ابل پڑتا ہے، اور بیشک ان میں سے بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جو اللہ کے خوف سے گر پڑتے ہیں، (افسوس! تمہارے دلوں میں اس قدر نرمی، خستگی اور شکستگی بھی نہیں رہی،) اور اللہ تمہارے کاموں سے بے خبر نہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thenceforth were your hearts hardened: They became like a rock and even worse in hardness. For among rocks there are some from which rivers gush forth; others there are which when split asunder send forth water; and others which sink for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.

| Words | |ثم - Then| قست - hardened| قلوبكم - your hearts| من - from| بعد - after| ذلك - that| فهي - so they| كالحجارة - (became) like [the] stones| أو - or| أشد - stronger| قسوة - (in) hardness.| وإن - And indeed,| من - from| الحجارة - the stones| لما - certainly (there are some) which| يتفجر - gush forth| منه - from it| الأنهار - [the] rivers,| وإن - and indeed,| منها - from them| لما - certainly (there are some) which| يشقق - split,| فيخرج - so comes out| منه - from it| الماء - [the] water,| وإن - and indeed,| منها - from them| لما - certainly (there are some) which| يهبط - fall down| من - from| خشية - fear| الله - (of) Allah.| وما - And not| الله - (is) Allah| بغافل - unaware| عما - of what| تعملون - you do.| | ||||||
| 5. [2:75] | AfatatmaAAoona an yu/minoo lakumwaqad kana fareequn minhum yasmaAAoona kalama Allahithumma yuharrifoonahu min baAAdi ma AAaqaloohuwahum yaAAlamoona | أفتطمعون أن يؤمنوا لكم وقد كان فريق منهم يسمعون كلام الله ثم يحرفونه من بعد ما عقلوه وهم يعلمون أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَنْ يُّؤْمِنُواْ لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ كَلاَمَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے مسلمانو!) کیا تم یہ توقع رکھتے ہو کہ وہ (یہودی) تم پر یقین کر لیں گے جبکہ ان میں سے ایک گروہ کے لوگ ایسے (بھی) تھے کہ اللہ کا کلام (تورات) سنتے پھر اسے سمجھنے کے بعد (خود) بدل دیتے حالانکہ وہ خوب جانتے تھے (کہ حقیقت کیا ہے اور وہ کیا کر رہے ہیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it.

| 6. [2:77] | Awa la yaAAlamoona anna AllahayaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona | أولا يعلمون أن الله يعلم ما يسرون وما يعلنون أَوَلاَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا وہ نہیں جانتے کہ اللہ کو وہ سب کچھ معلوم ہے جو وہ چھپاتے ہیں اور جو ظاہر کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Know they not that Allah knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal?

[2:76] | Wa-itha laqoo allatheena amanooqaloo amanna wa-itha khalabaAAduhum ila baAAdin qaloo atuhaddithoonahumbima fataha Allahu AAalaykum liyuhajjookumbihi AAinda rabbikum afala taAAqiloona | وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا وإذا خلا بعضهم إلى بعض قالوا أتحدثونهم بما فتح الله عليكم ليحاجوكم به عند ربكم أفلا تعقلون وَإِذَا لَقُواْ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ قَالُواْ آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلاَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ قَالُواْ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ اللّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (ان کا حال تو یہ ہو چکا ہے کہ) جب اہلِ ایمان سے ملتے ہیں (تو) کہتے ہیں: ہم (بھی تمہاری طرح حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر) ایمان لے آئے ہیں، اور جب آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ تنہائی میں ہوتے ہیں (تو) کہتے ہیں: کیا تم ان (مسلمانوں) سے (نبی آخر الزمان صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی رسالت اور شان کے بارے میں) وہ باتیں بیان کر دیتے ہو جو اللہ نے تم پر (تورات کے ذریعے) ظاہر کی ہیں تاکہ اس سے وہ تمہارے رب کے حضور تمہیں پر حجت قائم کریں، کیا تم (اتنی) عقل (بھی) نہیں رکھتے؟ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?

| Words | |وإذا - And when| لقوا - they meet| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe[d],| قالوا - they say,| آمنا - "We have believed."| وإذا - But when| خلا - meet in private| بعضهم - some of them| إلى - with| بعض - some (others),| قالوا - they say,| أتحدثونهم - "Do you tell them| بما - what| فتح - has| الله - Allah| عليكم - to you| ليحاجوكم - so that they argue with you| به - therewith| عند - before| ربكم - your Lord?| أفلا - Then do (you) not| تعقلون - understand?"| | ||||||
| 8. [2:78] | Waminhum ommiyyoona la yaAAlamoonaalkitaba illa amaniyya wa-in hum illayathunnoona | ومنهم أميون لا يعلمون الكتاب إلا أماني وإن هم إلا يظنون وَمِنْهُمْ أُمِّـيُّونَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ الْكِتَابَ إِلاَّ أَمَانِيَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلاَّ يَظُنُّونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان (یہود) میں سے (بعض) ان پڑھ (بھی) ہیں جنہیں (سوائے سنی سنائی جھوٹی امیدوں کے) کتاب (کے معنی و مفہوم) کا کوئی علم ہی نہیں وہ (کتاب کو) صرف زبانی پڑھنا جانتے ہیں یہ لوگ محض وہم و گمان میں پڑے رہتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And there are among them illiterates, who know not the Book, but (see therein their own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture.

| Words | |ومنهم - And among them| أميون - (are) unlettered ones,| لا - (who) do not| يعلمون - know| الكتاب - the book| إلا - except| أماني - wishful thinking| وإن - and not| هم - they| إلا - (do anything) except| يظنون - guess.| | ||||||

[2:79] | Fawaylun lillatheena yaktuboona alkitababi-aydeehim thumma yaqooloona hatha min AAindi Allahiliyashtaroo bihi thamanan qaleelan fawaylun lahum mimmakatabat aydeehim wawaylun lahum mimma yaksiboona | فويل للذين يكتبون الكتاب بأيديهم ثم يقولون هذا من عند الله ليشتروا به ثمنا قليلا فويل لهم مما كتبت أيديهم وويل لهم مما يكسبون فَوَيْلٌ لِّـلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ الْكِتَابَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَـذَا مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ لِيَشْـتَرُواْ بِهِ ثَمَناً قَلِيلاً فَوَيْلٌ لَّهُمْ مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُمْ مِّمَّا يَكْسِبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس ایسے لوگوں کے لئے بڑی خرابی ہے جو اپنے ہی ہاتھوں سے کتاب لکھتے ہیں، پھر کہتے ہیں کہ یہ اللہ کی طرف سے ہے تاکہ اس کے عوض تھوڑے سے دام کما لیں، سو ان کے لئے اس (کتاب کی وجہ) سے ہلاکت ہے جو ان کے ہاتھوں نے تحریر کی اور اس (معاوضہ کی وجہ) سے تباہی ہے جو وہ کما رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say:"This is from Allah," to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby.

| Words | |فويل - So woe| للذين - to those who| يكتبون - write| الكتاب - the book| بأيديهم - with their (own) hands| ثم - then,| يقولون - they say,| هذا - "This| من - (is)| عند - from| الله - Allah,"| ليشتروا - to barter| به - with it| ثمنا - (for) a price| قليلا - little.| فويل - So woe| لهم - to them| مما - for what| كتبت - have written| أيديهم - their hands| وويل - and woe| لهم - to them| مما - for what| يكسبون - they earn.| | ||||||
| 10. [2:81] | Bala man kasaba sayyi-atan waahatatbihi khatee-atuhu faola-ika as-habu alnnarihum feeha khalidoona | بلى من كسب سيئة وأحاطت به خطيئته فأولئك أصحاب النار هم فيها خالدون بَلَى مَنْ كَسَبَ سَـيِّـئَةً وَّأَحَاطَتْ بِهِ خَطِيـئَـتُهُ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ہاں واقعی جس نے برائی اختیار کی اور اس کے گناہوں نے اس کو ہر طرف سے گھیر لیا تو وہی لوگ دوزخی ہیں، وہ اس میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay, those who seek gain in evil, and are girt round by their sins,- they are companions of the Fire: Therein shall they abide (For ever).

| Words | |بلى - Yes,| من - whoever| كسب - earned| سيئة - evil| وأحاطت - and surrounded him| به - with| خطيئته - his sins -| فأولئك - [so] those| أصحاب - (are the) companions| النار - (of) the Fire;| هم - they| فيها - in it| خالدون - (will) abide forever.| | ||||||
| 11. [2:80] | Waqaloo lan tamassana alnnaruilla ayyaman maAAdoodatan qul attakhathtumAAinda Allahi AAahdan falan yukhlifa AllahuAAahdahu am taqooloona AAala Allahi ma lataAAlamoona | وقالوا لن تمسنا النار إلا أياما معدودة قل أتخذتم عند الله عهدا فلن يخلف الله عهده أم تقولون على الله ما لا تعلمون وَقَالُواْ لَنْ تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلاَّ أَيَّاماً مَّعْدُوْدَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِنْدَ اللّهِ عَهْدًا فَلَنْ يُّخْلِفَ اللّهُ عَهْدَهُ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ مَا لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ (یہود) یہ (بھی) کہتے ہیں کہ ہمیں (دوزخ کی) آگ ہرگز نہیں چھوئے گی سوائے گنتی کے چند دنوں کے، (ذرا) آپ (ان سے) پوچھیں: کیا تم اللہ سے کوئی (ایسا) وعدہ لے چکے ہو؟ پھر تو وہ اپنے وعدے کے خلاف ہرگز نہ کرے گا یا تم اللہ پر یونہی (وہ) بہتان باندھتے ہو جو تم خود بھی نہیں جانتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they say: "The Fire shall not touch us but for a few numbered days:" Say: "Have ye taken a promise from Allah, for He never breaks His promise? or is it that ye say of Allah what ye do not know?"

| Words | |وقالوا - And they say,| لن - "Never| تمسنا - will touch us| النار - the Fire| إلا - except| أياما - (for) days| معدودة - numbered."| قل - Say,| أتخذتم - "Have you taken| عند - from| الله - Allah| عهدا - a covenant,| فلن - so never| يخلف - will break| الله - Allah| عهده - His Covenant?| أم - Or| تقولون - (do) you say| على - against| الله - Allah| ما - what| لا - not| تعلمون - you know?"| | ||||||
| 12. [2:82] | Waallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati ola-ika as-habualjannati hum feeha khalidoona | والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات أولئك أصحاب الجنة هم فيها خالدون وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَـئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور (انہوں نے) نیک عمل کیے تو وہی لوگ جنّتی ہیں، وہ اس میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But those who have faith and work righteousness, they are companions of the Garden: Therein shall they abide (For ever).

| Words | |والذين - And those who| آمنوا - believed| وعملوا - and did| الصالحات - righteous deeds,| أولئك - those| أصحاب - (are the) companions| الجنة - (of) Paradise;| هم - they| فيها - in it| خالدون - (will) abide forever.| | ||||||

[2:83] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqabanee isra-eela la taAAbudoona illa Allahawabialwalidayni ihsanan watheealqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeniwaqooloo lilnnasi husnan waaqeemoo alssalatawaatoo alzzakata thumma tawallaytum illaqaleelan minkum waantum muAAridoona | وإذ أخذنا ميثاق بني إسرائيل لا تعبدون إلا الله وبالوالدين إحسانا وذي القربى واليتامى والمساكين وقولوا للناس حسنا وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة ثم توليتم إلا قليلا منكم وأنتم معرضون وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِىْ إِسْرَائِيلَ لاَ تَعْبُدُونَ إِلاَّ اللّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَاناً وَّذِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْيَتَامَى وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْناً وَّأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيْلاً مِّنكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ مُّعْرِضُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (یاد کرو) جب ہم نے اولادِ یعقوب سے پختہ وعدہ لیا کہ اللہ کے سوا (کسی اور کی) عبادت نہ کرنا، اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرنا اور قرابت داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں کے ساتھ بھی (بھلائی کرنا) اور عام لوگوں سے (بھی نرمی اور خوش خُلقی کے ساتھ) نیکی کی بات کہنا اور نماز قائم رکھنا اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہنا، پھر تم میں سے چند لوگوں کے سوا سارے (اس عہد سے) رُوگرداں ہو گئے اور تم (حق سے) گریز ہی کرنے والے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And remember We took a covenant from the Children of Israel (to this effect): Worship none but Allah; treat with kindness your parents and kindred, and orphans and those in need; speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and practise regular charity. Then did ye turn back, except a few among you, and ye backslide (even now).

| Words | |وإذ - And when| أخذنا - We took| ميثاق - (the) covenant| بني - (from the) Children| إسرائيل - (of) Israel,| لا - "Not| تعبدون - you will worship| إلا - except| الله - Allah,| وبالوالدين - and with [the] parents| إحسانا - (be) good| وذي - and (with)| القربى - relatives| واليتامى - and [the] orphans| والمساكين - and the needy,| وقولوا - and speak| للناس - to [the] people| حسنا - good,| وأقيموا - and establish| الصلاة - the prayer| وآتوا - and give| الزكاة - the zakah."| ثم - Then| توليتم - you turned away,| إلا - except| قليلا - a few| منكم - of you,| وأنتم - and you (were)| معرضون - refusing.| | ||||||

[2:84] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumla tasfikoona dimaakum wala tukhrijoonaanfusakum min diyarikum thumma aqrartum waantum tashhadoona | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم لا تسفكون دماءكم ولا تخرجون أنفسكم من دياركم ثم أقررتم وأنتم تشهدون وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ لاَ تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَلاَ تُخْرِجُونَ أَنْفُسَكُم مِّنْ دِيَارِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ہم نے تم سے (یہ) پختہ عہد (بھی) لیا کہ تم (آپس میں) ایک دوسرے کا خون نہیں بہاؤ گے اور نہ اپنے لوگوں کو (اپنے گھروں اور بستیوں سے نکال کر) جلاوطن کرو گے پھر تم نے (اس امر کا) اقرار کر لیا اور تم (اس کی) گواہی (بھی) دیتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And remember We took your covenant (to this effect): Shed no blood amongst you, nor turn out your own people from your homes: and this ye solemnly ratified, and to this ye can bear witness.

[2:86] | Ola-ika allatheena ishtarawooalhayata alddunya bial-akhiratifala yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala humyunsaroona | أولئك الذين اشتروا الحياة الدنيا بالآخرة فلا يخفف عنهم العذاب ولا هم ينصرون أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُاْ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ فَلاَ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے آخرت کے بدلے میں دنیا کی زندگی خرید لی ہے، پس نہ ان پر سے عذاب ہلکا کیا جائے گا اور نہ ہی ان کو مدد دی جائے گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | These are the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter: their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.

[2:87] | Walaqad atayna moosaalkitaba waqaffayna min baAAdihi bialrrusuliwaatayna AAeesa ibna maryama albayyinatiwaayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi afakullama jaakumrasoolun bima la tahwa anfusukumuistakbartum fafareeqan kaththabtum wafareeqan taqtuloona | ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب وقفينا من بعده بالرسل وآتينا عيسى ابن مريم البينات وأيدناه بروح القدس أفكلما جاءكم رسول بما لا تهوى أنفسكم استكبرتم ففريقا كذبتم وفريقا تقتلون وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ بِالرُّسُلِ وَآتَيْنَا عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَيَّدْنَاهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ بِمَا لاَ تَهْوَى أَنفُسُكُمُ اسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقاً كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقاً تَقْتُلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے موسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کو کتاب (تورات) عطا کی اور ان کے بعد ہم نے پے در پے (بہت سے) پیغمبر بھیجے، اور ہم نے مریم (علیھا السلام) کے فرزند عیسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کو (بھی) روشن نشانیاں عطا کیں اور ہم نے پاک روح کے ذریعے ان کی تائید (اور مدد) کی، تو کیا (ہوا) جب بھی کوئی پیغمبر تمہارے پاس وہ (احکام) لایا جنہیں تمہارے نفس پسند نہیں کرتے تھے تو تم (وہیں) اکڑ گئے اور بعضوں کو تم نے جھٹلایا اور بعضوں کو تم قتل کرنے لگے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of messengers; We gave Jesus the son of Mary Clear (Signs) and strengthened him with the holy spirit. Is it that whenever there comes to you a messenger with what ye yourselves desire not, ye are puffed up with pride?- Some ye called impostors, and others ye slay!

| Words | |ولقد - And indeed| آتينا - We gave| موسى - Musa| الكتاب - the Book| وقفينا - and We followed up| من - from| بعده - after him| بالرسل - with [the] Messengers.| وآتينا - And We gave| عيسى - Isa,| ابن - (the) son| مريم - (of) Maryam,| البينات - [the] clear signs| وأيدناه - and We supported him| بروح - (with)| القدس - the Holy Spirit.| أفكلما - Is it (not) so (that) whenever| جاءكم - came to you| رسول - a Messenger| بما - with what| لا - (does) not| تهوى - desire| أنفسكم - yourselves,| استكبرتم - you acted arrogantly?| ففريقا - So a party| كذبتم - you denied,| وفريقا - and a party| تقتلون - you kill(ed).| | ||||||
| 17. [2:88] | Waqaloo quloobuna ghulfun ballaAAanahumu Allahu bikufrihim faqaleelan mayu/minoona | وقالوا قلوبنا غلف بل لعنهم الله بكفرهم فقليلا ما يؤمنون وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌ بَلْ لَّعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَقَلِيْلاً مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہودیوں نے کہا: ہمارے دلوں پر غلاف ہیں، (ایسا نہیں) بلکہ ان کے کفر کے باعث اللہ نے ان پر لعنت کر دی ہے سو وہ بہت ہی کم ایمان رکھتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They say, "Our hearts are the wrappings (which preserve Allah's Word: we need no more)." Nay, Allah's curse is on them for their blasphemy: Little is it they believe.

[2:89] | Walamma jaahum kitabunmin AAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahumwakanoo min qablu yastaftihoona AAala allatheenakafaroo falamma jaahum ma AAarafoo kafaroobihi falaAAnatu Allahi AAala alkafireena | ولما جاءهم كتاب من عند الله مصدق لما معهم وكانوا من قبل يستفتحون على الذين كفروا فلما جاءهم ما عرفوا كفروا به فلعنة الله على الكافرين وَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ كِتَابٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ مِن قَبْلُ يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ مَّا عَرَفُواْ كَفَرُواْ بِهِ فَلَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی طرف سے وہ کتاب (قرآن) آئی جو اس کتاب (تورات) کی (اصلاً) تصدیق کرنے والی ہے جو ان کے پاس موجود تھی، حالانکہ اس سے پہلے وہ خود (نبی آخر الزمان حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور ان پر اترنے والی کتاب قرآن کے وسیلے سے) کافروں پر فتح یابی (کی دعا) مانگتے تھے، سو جب ان کے پاس وہی نبی (حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اپنے اوپر نازل ہونے والی کتاب قرآن کے ساتھ) تشریف لے آیا جسے وہ (پہلے ہی سے) پہچانتے تھے تو اسی کے منکر ہو گئے، پس (ایسے دانستہ) انکار کرنے والوں پر اللہ کی لعنت ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And when there comes to them a Book from Allah, confirming what is with them,- although from of old they had prayed for victory against those without Faith,- when there comes to them that which they (should) have recognised, they refuse to believe in it but the curse of Allah is on those without Faith.

[2:90] | Bi/sama ishtaraw bihi anfusahum anyakfuroo bima anzala Allahu baghyan an yunazzilaAllahu min fadlihi AAala man yashaomin AAibadihi fabaoo bighadabin AAalaghadabin walilkafireena AAathabun muheenun | بئسما اشتروا به أنفسهم أن يكفروا بما أنزل الله بغيا أن ينزل الله من فضله على من يشاء من عباده فباءوا بغضب على غضب وللكافرين عذاب مهين بِئْسَمَا اشْتَرَوْاْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهُمْ أَنْ يَّكْفُرُواْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللّهُ بَغْياً أَنْ يُّنَزِّلُ اللّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ عَلَى مَنْ يَّشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ فَبَآؤُواْ بِغَضَبٍ عَلَى غَضَبٍ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | انہوں نے اپنی جانوں کا کیا برا سودا کیا کہ اللہ کی نازل کردہ کتاب کا انکار کر رہے ہیں، محض اس حسد میں کہ اللہ اپنے فضل سے اپنے بندوں میں سے جس پر چاہتا ہے (وحی) نازل فرماتا ہے، پس وہ غضب در غضب کے سزاوار ہوئے، اور کافروں کے لئے ذلّت انگیز عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Miserable is the price for which they have sold their souls, in that they deny (the revelation) which Allah has sent down, in insolent envy that Allah of His Grace should send it to any of His servants He pleases: Thus have they drawn on themselves Wrath upon Wrath. And humiliating is the punishment of those who reject Faith.

| 20. [2:92] | Walaqad jaakum moosa bialbayyinatithumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla min baAAdihi waantum thalimoona | ولقد جاءكم موسى بالبينات ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وأنتم ظالمون وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ مُّوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (صورت حال یہ ہے کہ) تمہارے پاس (خود) موسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کھلی نشانیاں لائے پھر تم نے ان کے پیچھے بچھڑے کو معبود بنا لیا اور تم (حقیقت میں) ہو ہی جفاکار | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | There came to you Moses with clear (Signs); yet ye worshipped the calf (Even) after that, and ye did behave wrongfully.

[2:91] | Wa-itha qeela lahum aminoo bimaanzala Allahu qaloo nu/minu bima onzilaAAalayna wayakfuroona bima waraahu wahuwa alhaqqumusaddiqan lima maAAahum qul falima taqtuloonaanbiyaa Allahi min qablu in kuntum mu/mineena | وإذا قيل لهم آمنوا بما أنزل الله قالوا نؤمن بما أنزل علينا ويكفرون بما وراءه وهو الحق مصدقا لما معهم قل فلم تقتلون أنبياء الله من قبل إن كنتم مؤمنين وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُواْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ قَالُواْ نُؤْمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَيَكْفُرُوْنَ بِمَا وَرَاءَهُ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنْبِيَاءَ اللّهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے: اس (کتاب) پر ایمان لاؤ جسے اللہ نے (اب) نازل فرمایا ہے، (تو) کہتے ہیں: ہم صرف اس (کتاب) پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں جو ہم پر نازل کی گئی، اور وہ اس کے علاوہ کا انکار کرتے ہیں، حالانکہ وہ (قرآن بھی) حق ہے (اور) اس (کتاب) کی (بھی) تصدیق کرتا ہے جو ان کے پاس ہے، آپ (ان سے) دریافت فرمائیں کہ پھر تم اس سے پہلے انبیاء کو کیوں قتل کرتے رہے ہو اگر تم (واقعی اپنی ہی کتاب پر) ایمان رکھتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah Hath sent down, "they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us:" yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is with them. Say: "Why then have ye slain the prophets of Allah in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?"

[2:93] | Wa-ith akhathna meethaqakumwarafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthooma ataynakum biquwwatin waismaAAoo qaloosamiAAna waAAasayna waoshriboo feequloobihimu alAAijla bikufrihim qul bi/sama ya/murukumbihi eemanukum in kuntum mu/mineena | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم ورفعنا فوقكم الطور خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة واسمعوا قالوا سمعنا وعصينا وأشربوا في قلوبهم العجل بكفرهم قل بئسما يأمركم به إيمانكم إن كنتم مؤمنين وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاسْمَعُواْ قَالُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُمْ بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ہم نے تم سے پختہ عہد لیا اور ہم نے تمہارے اوپر طور کو اٹھا کھڑا کیا (یہ فرما کر کہ) اس (کتاب) کو مضبوطی سے تھامے رکھو جو ہم نے تمہیں عطا کی ہے اور (ہمارا حکم) سنو، تو (تمہارے بڑوں نے) کہا: ہم نے سن لیا مگر مانا نہیں، اور ان کے دلوں میں ان کے کفر کے باعث بچھڑے کی محبت رچا دی گئی تھی، (اے محبوب! انہیں) بتا دیں یہ باتیں بہت (ہی) بری ہیں جن کا حکم تمہیں تمہارا (نام نہاد) ایمان دے رہا ہے اگر (تم واقعۃً ان پر) ایمان رکھتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai): (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and hearken (to the Law)": They said:" We hear, and we disobey:" And they had to drink into their hearts (of the taint) of the calf because of their Faithlessness. Say: "Vile indeed are the behests of your Faith if ye have any faith!"

[2:94] | Qul in kanat lakumu alddarual-akhiratu AAinda Allahi khalisatanmin dooni alnnasi fatamannawoo almawta in kuntum sadiqeena | قل إن كانت لكم الدار الآخرة عند الله خالصة من دون الناس فتمنوا الموت إن كنتم صادقين قُلْ إِنْ كَانَتْ لَكُمُ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ عِنْدَ اللّهِ خَالِصَةً مِّنْ دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُاْ الْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ فرما دیں: اگر آخرت کا گھر اللہ کے نزدیک صرف تمہارے لئے ہی مخصوص ہے اور لوگوں کے لئے نہیں تو تم (بے دھڑک) موت کی آرزو کرو اگر تم (اپنے خیال میں) سچے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say: "If the last Home, with Allah, be for you specially, and not for anyone else, then seek ye for death, if ye are sincere."

| 24. [2:95] | Walan yatamannawhu abadan bimaqaddamat aydeehim waAllahu AAaleemun bialththalimeena | ولن يتمنوه أبدا بما قدمت أيديهم والله عليم بالظالمين وَلَنْ يَّتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ ہرگز کبھی بھی اس کی آرزو نہیں کریں گے ان گناہوں (اور مَظالِم) کے باعث جو ان کے ہاتھ آگے بھیج چکے ہیں (یا پہلے کر چکے ہیں) اور اللہ ظالموں کو خوب جانتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But they will never seek for death, on account of the (sins) which their hands have sent on before them. and Allah is well-acquainted with the wrong-doers.

[2:98] | Man kana AAaduwwan lillahiwamala-ikatihi warusulihi wajibreela wameekalafa-inna Allaha AAaduwwun lilkafireena | من كان عدوا لله وملائكته ورسله وجبريل وميكال فإن الله عدو للكافرين مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّلّهِ وَمَلآئِكَتِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَجِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَالَ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ عَدُوٌّ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو شخص اللہ کا اور اس کے فرشتوں اور اس کے رسولوں کا اور جبریل اور میکائیل کا دشمن ہوا تو یقیناً اللہ (بھی ان) کافروں کا دشمن ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and messengers, to Gabriel and Michael,- Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith.

[2:96] | Walatajidannahum ahrasa alnnasiAAala hayatin wamina allatheenaashrakoo yawaddu ahaduhum law yuAAammaru alfa sanatin wamahuwa bimuzahzihihi mina alAAathabi anyuAAammara waAllahu baseerun bimayaAAmaloona | ولتجدنهم أحرص الناس على حياة ومن الذين أشركوا يود أحدهم لو يعمر ألف سنة وما هو بمزحزحه من العذاب أن يعمر والله بصير بما يعملون وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْ يُّعَمَّرَ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ انہیں یقیناً سب لوگوں سے زیادہ جینے کی ہوس میں مبتلا پائیں گے اور (یہاں تک کہ) مشرکوں سے بھی زیادہ، ان میں سے ہر ایک چاہتا ہے کہ کاش اسے ہزار برس کی عمر مل جائے، اگر اسے اتنی عمر مل بھی جائے، تو بھی یہ اسے عذاب سے بچانے والی نہیں ہو سکتی، اور اللہ ان کے اعمال کو خوب دیکھ رہا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do.

| Words | |ولتجدنهم - And surely you will find them| أحرص - (the) most greedy| الناس - (of) [the] mankind| على - for| حياة - life,| ومن - and (greedier) than| الذين - those who| أشركوا - associate[d] partners (with Allah).| يود - Loves| أحدهم - (each) one of them| لو - if| يعمر - he could be granted a life| ألف - (of) a thousand| سنة - year(s).| وما - But not| هو - it| بمزحزحه - (will) remove him| من - from| العذاب - the punishment| أن - that| يعمر - he should be granted life.| والله - And Allah| بصير - (is) All-Seer| بما - of what| يعملون - they do.| | ||||||
| 27. [2:99] | Walaqad anzalna ilayka ayatinbayyinatin wama yakfuru biha illa alfasiqoona | ولقد أنزلنا إليك آيات بينات وما يكفر بها إلا الفاسقون وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ وَمَا يَكْفُرُ بِهَا إِلاَّ الْفَاسِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے آپ کی طرف روشن آیتیں اتاری ہیں اور ان (نشانیوں) کا سوائے نافرمانوں کے کوئی انکار نہیں کر سکتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have sent down to thee Manifest Signs (ayat); and none reject them but those who are perverse.

| Words | |ولقد - And indeed| أنزلنا - We revealed| إليك - to you| آيات - Verses| بينات - clear,| وما - and not| يكفر - disbelieves| بها - in them| إلا - except| الفاسقون - the defiantly disobedient.| | ||||||

[2:97] | Qul man kana AAaduwwan lijibreelafa-innahu nazzalahu AAala qalbika bi-ithni Allahimusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi wahudan wabushralilmu/mineena | قل من كان عدوا لجبريل فإنه نزله على قلبك بإذن الله مصدقا لما بين يديه وهدى وبشرى للمؤمنين قُلْ مَنْ كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُ نَزَّلَهُ عَلَى قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ فرما دیں: جو شخص جبریل کا دشمن ہے (وہ ظلم کر رہا ہے) کیونکہ اس نے (تو) اس (قرآن) کو آپ کے دل پر اللہ کے حکم سے اتارا ہے (جو) اپنے سے پہلے (کی کتابوں) کی تصدیق کرنے والا ہے اور مؤمنوں کے لئے (سراسر) ہدایت اور خوشخبری ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah's will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,-

| 29. [2:100] | Awa kullama AAahadoo AAahdannabathahu fareequn minhum bal aktharuhum layu/minoona | أوكلما عاهدوا عهدا نبذه فريق منهم بل أكثرهم لا يؤمنون أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُواْ عَهْداً نَّبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کیا (ایسا نہیں کہ) جب بھی انہوں نے کوئی عہد کیا تو ان میں سے ایک گروہ نے اسے توڑ کر پھینک دیا، بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر ایمان ہی نہیں رکھتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless.

| Words | |أوكلما - And is (it not that) whenever| عاهدوا - they took| عهدا - a covenant,| نبذه - threw it away| فريق - a party| منهم - of them?| بل - Nay,| أكثرهم - most of them| لا - (do) not| يؤمنون - believe.| | ||||||

[2:101] | Walamma jaahum rasoolun minAAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahum nabathafareequn mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba kitabaAllahi waraa thuhoorihim kaannahum layaAAlamoona | ولما جاءهم رسول من عند الله مصدق لما معهم نبذ فريق من الذين أوتوا الكتاب كتاب الله وراء ظهورهم كأنهم لا يعلمون وَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ كِتَابَ اللّهِ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اسی طرح) جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی جانب سے رسول (حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) آئے جو اس کتاب کی (اصلاً) تصدیق کرنے والے ہیں جو ان کے پاس (پہلے سے) موجود تھی تو (انہی) اہلِ کتاب میں سے ایک گروہ نے اللہ کی (اسی) کتاب (تورات) کو پسِ پشت پھینک دیا، گویا وہ (اس کو) جانتے ہی نہیں (حالانکہ اسی تورات نے انہیں نبی آخرالزماں حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی تشریف آوری کی خبر دی تھی) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And when there came to them a messenger from Allah, confirming what was with them, a party of the people of the Book threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know!
