| حتى إذا بلغ مغرب الشمس وجدها تغرب في عين حمئة ووجد عندها قوما قلنا يا ذا القرنين إما أن تعذب وإما أن تتخذ فيهم حسنا حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغْرِبَ الشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوْمًا قُلْنَا يَا ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ إِمَّا أَن تُعَذِّبَ وَإِمَّا أَن تَتَّخِذَ فِيهِمْ حُسْنًا |

Tahir ul Qadri | یہاں تک کہ وہ غروبِ آفتاب (کی سمت آبادی) کے آخری کنارے پر جا پہنچا وہاں اس نے سورج کے غروب کے منظر کو ایسے محسوس کیا جیسے وہ (کیچڑ کی طرح سیاہ رنگ) پانی کے گرم چشمہ میں ڈوب رہا ہو اور اس نے وہاں ایک قوم کو (آباد) پایا۔ ہم نے فرمایا: اے ذوالقرنین! (یہ تمہاری مرضی پر منحصر ہے) خواہ تم انہیں سزا دو یا ان کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرو |
