Amma alssafeenatu fakanatlimasakeena yaAAmaloona fee albahri faaradtu anaAAeebaha wakana waraahum malikun ya/khuthukulla safeenatin ghasban أما السفينة فكانت لمساكين يعملون في البحر فأردت أن أعيبها وكان وراءهم ملك يأخذ كل سفينة غصبا
أَمَّا السَّفِينَةُ فَكَانَتْ لِمَسَاكِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ فِي الْبَحْرِ فَأَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَعِيبَهَا وَكَانَ وَرَاءَهُم مَّلِكٌ يَأْخُذُ كُلَّ سَفِينَةٍ غَصْبًا

  وہ جو کشتی تھی سو وہ چند غریب لوگوں کی تھی وہ دریا میں محنت مزدوری کیا کرتے تھے پس میں نے ارادہ کیا کہ اسے عیب دار کر دوں اور (اس کی وجہ یہ تھی کہ) ان کے آگے ایک (جابر) بادشاہ (کھڑا) تھا جو ہر (بے عیب) کشتی کو زبردستی (مالکوں سے بلامعاوضہ) چھین رہا تھا
