| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [14:1] | Alif-lam-ra kitabunanzalnahu ilayka litukhrija alnnasa mina alththulumatiila alnnoori bi-ithni rabbihim ila siratialAAazeezi alhameedi |  الر كتاب أنزلناه إليك لتخرج الناس من الظلمات إلى النور بإذن ربهم إلى صراط العزيز الحميدالر كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | الف، لام، را (حقیقی معنی اﷲ اور رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں)، یہ (عظیم) کتاب ہے جسے ہم نے آپ کی طرف اتارا ہے تاکہ آپ لوگوں کو (کفر کی) تاریکیوں سے نکال کر (ایمان کے) نور کی جانب لے آئیں (مزید یہ کہ) ان کے رب کے حکم سے اس کی راہ کی طرف (لائیں) جو غلبہ والا سب خوبیوں والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | A. L. R. A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightest lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light - by the leave of their Lord - to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in power, worthy of all praise!-

| 2. [14:2] | Allahi allathee lahu mafee alssamawati wama fee al-ardiwawaylun lilkafireena min AAathabin shadeedin | الله الذي له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض وويل للكافرين من عذاب شديد اللّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ اﷲ کہ جو کچھ آسمانوں میں اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے (سب) اسی کا ہے، اور کفّار کے لئے سخت عذاب کے باعث بربادی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Of Allah, to Whom do belong all things in the heavens and on earth! But alas for the Unbelievers for a terrible penalty (their Unfaith will bring them)!-

| 3. [14:29] | Jahannama yaslawnaha wabi/saalqararu | جهنم يصلونها وبئس القرار جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا وَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (وہ) دوزخ ہے جس میں جھونکے جائیں گے، اور وہ برا ٹھکانا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Into Hell? They will burn therein,- an evil place to stay in!

| Words | |جهنم - Hell,| يصلونها - (in) it they will burn| وبئس - and a wretched| القرار - place to settle.| | ||||||
| 4. [14:3] | Allatheena yastahibboona alhayataalddunya AAala al-akhirati wayasuddoonaAAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan ola-ikafee dalalin baAAeedin | الذين يستحبون الحياة الدنيا على الآخرة ويصدون عن سبيل الله ويبغونها عوجا أولئك في ضلال بعيد الَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا أُوْلَـئِكَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ بَعِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ) وہ لوگ ہیں جو دنیوی زندگی کو آخرت کے مقابلہ میں زیادہ پسند کرتے ہیں اور (لوگوں کو) اﷲ کی راہ سے روکتے ہیں اور اس (دینِ حق) میں کجی تلاش کرتے ہیں۔ یہ لوگ دور کی گمراہی میں (پڑ چکے) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who love the life of this world more than the Hereafter, who hinder (men) from the Path of Allah and seek therein something crooked: they are astray by a long distance.

| 5. [14:7] | Wa-ith taaththana rabbukumla-in shakartum laazeedannakum wala-in kafartum inna AAathabeelashadeedun | وإذ تأذن ربكم لئن شكرتم لأزيدنكم ولئن كفرتم إن عذابي لشديد وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (یاد کرو) جب تمہارے رب نے آگاہ فرمایا کہ اگر تم شکر ادا کرو گے تو میں تم پر (نعمتوں میں) ضرور اضافہ کروں گا اور اگر تم ناشکری کرو گے تو میرا عذاب یقیناً سخت ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And remember! your Lord caused to be declared (publicly): "If ye are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed."

[14:4] | Wama arsalna min rasoolin illabilisani qawmihi liyubayyina lahum fayudillu Allahuman yashao wayahdee man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu | وما أرسلنا من رسول إلا بلسان قومه ليبين لهم فيضل الله من يشاء ويهدي من يشاء وهو العزيز الحكيم وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ فَيُضِلُّ اللّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے کسی رسول کو نہیں بھیجا مگر اپنی قوم کی زبان کے ساتھ تاکہ وہ ان کے لئے (پیغامِ حق) خوب واضح کر سکے، پھر اﷲ جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ ٹھہرا دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت بخشتا ہے، اور وہ غالب حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We sent not a messenger except (to teach) in the language of his (own) people, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases: and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.

| 7. [14:8] | Waqala moosa in takfuroo antumwaman fee al-ardi jameeAAan fa-inna Allahalaghaniyyun hameedun | وقال موسى إن تكفروا أنتم ومن في الأرض جميعا فإن الله لغني حميد وَقَالَ مُوسَى إِن تَكْفُرُواْ أَنتُمْ وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا فَإِنَّ اللّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: اگر تم اور وہ سب کے سب لوگ جو زمین میں ہیں کفر کرنے لگیں تو بیشک اللہ (ان سب سے) یقیناً بے نیاز لائقِ حمد و ثنا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Moses said: "If ye show ingratitude, ye and all on earth together, yet is Allah free of all wants, worthy of all praise.

| Words | |وقال - And said| موسى - Musa,| إن - "If| تكفروا - you disbelieve,| أنتم - you| ومن - and whoever| في - (is) in| الأرض - the earth| جميعا - all,| فإن - then indeed,| الله - Allah| لغني - certainly (is) Free of need,| حميد - Praiseworthy."| | ||||||

[14:5] | Walaqad arsalna moosa bi-ayatinaan akhrij qawmaka mina alththulumatiila alnnoori wathakkirhum bi-ayyamiAllahi inna fee thalika laayatinlikulli sabbarin shakoorin | ولقد أرسلنا موسى بآياتنا أن أخرج قومك من الظلمات إلى النور وذكرهم بأيام الله إن في ذلك لآيات لكل صبار شكور وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُمْ بِأَيَّامِ اللّهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کو اپنی نشانیوں کے ساتھ بھیجا کہ (اے موسٰی!) تم اپنی قوم کو اندھیروں سے نکال کر نور کی طرف لے جاؤ اور انہیں اﷲ کے دنوں کی یاد دلاؤ (جو ان پر اور پہلی امتوں پر آچکے تھے)۔ بیشک اس میں ہر زیادہ صبر کرنے والے (اور) خوب شکر بجا لانے والے کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative.

| Words | |ولقد - And verily| أرسلنا - We sent| موسى - Musa| بآياتنا - with Our Signs,| أن - that| أخرج - "Bring out| قومك - your people| من - from| الظلمات - the darkness[es]| إلى - to| النور - the light.| وذكرهم - And remind them| بأيام - of the days| الله - (of) Allah."| إن - Indeed,| في - in| ذلك - that| لآيات - surely (are) the signs| لكل - for everyone| صبار - patient| شكور - and thankful.| | ||||||
| 9. [14:12] | Wama lana allanatawakkala AAala Allahi waqad hadanasubulana walanasbiranna AAala ma athaytumoonawaAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona | وما لنا ألا نتوكل على الله وقد هدانا سبلنا ولنصبرن على ما آذيتمونا وعلى الله فليتوكل المتوكلون وَمَا لَنَا أَلاَّ نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُلَنَا وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَى مَا آذَيْتُمُونَا وَعَلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہمیں کیا ہے کہ ہم اللہ پر بھروسہ نہ کریں درآنحالیکہ اسی نے ہمیں (ہدایت و کامیابی کی) راہیں دکھائی ہیں، اور ہم ضرور تمہاری اذیت رسانیوں پر صبر کریں گے اور اہلِ توکل کو اللہ ہی پر توکل کرنا چاہیے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "No reason have we why we should not put our trust on Allah. Indeed He Has guided us to the Ways we (follow). We shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us. For those who put their trust should put their trust on Allah."

| Words | |وما - And what| لنا - (is) for us| ألا - that not| نتوكل - we put our trust| على - upon| الله - Allah,| وقد - while certainly| هدانا - He has guided us| سبلنا - to our ways?| ولنصبرن - And surely we will bear with patience| على - on| ما - what| آذيتمونا - harm you may cause us.| وعلى - And upon| الله - Allah| فليتوكل - so let put (their) trust| المتوكلون - the ones who put (their) trust."| | ||||||
| 10. [14:6] | Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ithanjakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum soo-a alAAathabiwayuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoonanisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikumAAatheemun | وإذ قال موسى لقومه اذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ أنجاكم من آل فرعون يسومونكم سوء العذاب ويذبحون أبناءكم ويستحيون نساءكم وفي ذلكم بلاء من ربكم عظيم وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ اذْكُرُواْ نِعْمَةَ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ أَنْجَاكُم مِّنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ وَفِي ذَلِكُم بَلاَءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (وہ وقت یاد کیجئے) جب موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: تم اپنے اوپر اللہ کے (اس) انعام کو یاد کرو جب اس نے تمہیں آلِ فرعون سے نجات دی جو تمہیں سخت عذاب پہنچاتے تھے اور تمہارے لڑکوں کو ذبح کر ڈالتے تھے اور تمہاری عورتوں کو زندہ چھوڑ دیتے تھے، اور اس میں تمہارے رب کی جانب سے بڑی بھاری آزمائش تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Remember! Moses said to his people: "Call to mind the favour of Allah to you when He delivered you from the people of Pharaoh: they set you hard tasks and punishments, slaughtered your sons, and let your women-folk live: therein was a tremendous trial from your Lord."

| 11. [14:13] | Waqala allatheena kafaroolirusulihim lanukhrijannakum min ardina awlataAAoodunna fee millatina faawha ilayhim rabbuhumlanuhlikanna alththalimeena | وقال الذين كفروا لرسلهم لنخرجنكم من أرضنا أو لتعودن في ملتنا فأوحى إليهم ربهم لنهلكن الظالمين وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّـكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَآ أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا فَأَوْحَى إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کافر لوگ اپنے پیغمبروں سے کہنے لگے: ہم بہرصورت تمہیں اپنے ملک سے نکال دیں گے یا تمہیں ضرور ہمارے مذہب میں لوٹ آنا ہوگا، تو ان کے رب نے ان کی طرف وحی بھیجی کہ ہم ظالموں کو ضرور ہلاک کر دیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the Unbelievers said to their messengers: "Be sure we shall drive you out of our land, or ye shall return to our religion." But their Lord inspired (this Message) to them: "Verily We shall cause the wrong-doers to perish!

| Words | |وقال - And said| الذين - those who| كفروا - disbelieved| لرسلهم - to their Messengers,| لنخرجنكم - "Surely we will drive you out| من - of| أرضنا - our land| أو - or| لتعودن - surely you should return| في - to| ملتنا - our religion."| فأوحى - So inspired| إليهم - to them| ربهم - their Lord,| لنهلكن - "We will surely destroy| الظالمين - the wrongdoers.| | ||||||

[14:9] | Alam ya/tikum nabao allatheena minqablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheenamin baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaat-humrusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihimwaqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltumbihi wa-inna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonanailayhi mureebun | ألم يأتكم نبأ الذين من قبلكم قوم نوح وعاد وثمود والذين من بعدهم لا يعلمهم إلا الله جاءتهم رسلهم بالبينات فردوا أيديهم في أفواههم وقالوا إنا كفرنا بما أرسلتم به وإنا لفي شك مما تدعوننا إليه مريب أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلاَّ اللّهُ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرَدُّواْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَقَالُواْ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تمہیں ان لوگوں کی خبر نہیں پہنچی جو تم سے پہلے ہو گزرے ہیں، (وہ) قومِ نوح اور عاد اور ثمود (کی قوموں کے لوگ) تھے اور (کچھ) لوگ جو ان کے بعد ہوئے، انہیں اللہ کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا (کیونکہ وہ صفحۂ ہستی سے بالکل نیست و نابود ہو چکے ہیں)، ان کے پاس ان کے رسول واضح نشانیوں کے ساتھ آئے تھے پس انہوں نے (اَز راہِ تمسخر و عناد) اپنے ہاتھ اپنے مونہوں میں ڈال لئے اور (بڑی جسارت کے ساتھ) کہنے لگے: ہم نے اس (دین) کا انکار کر دیا جس کے ساتھ تم بھیجے گئے ہو اور یقیناً ہم اس چیز کی نسبت اضطراب انگیز شک میں مبتلا ہیں جس کی طرف تم ہمیں دعوت دیتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Has not the story reached you, (O people!), of those who (went) before you? - of the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Thamud? - And of those who (came) after them? None knows them but Allah. To them came messengers with Clear (Signs); but they put their hands up to their mouths, and said: "We do deny (the mission) on which ye have been sent, and we are really in suspicious (disquieting) doubt as to that to which ye invite us."

[14:10] | Qalat rusuluhum afee Allahishakkun fatiri alssamawati waal-ardiyadAAookum liyaghfira lakum min thunoobikumwayu-akhkhirakum ila ajalin musamman qaloo in antumilla basharun mithluna tureedoona an tasuddoonaAAamma kana yaAAbudu abaonafa/toona bisultanin mubeenin | قالت رسلهم أفي الله شك فاطر السماوات والأرض يدعوكم ليغفر لكم من ذنوبكم ويؤخركم إلى أجل مسمى قالوا إن أنتم إلا بشر مثلنا تريدون أن تصدونا عما كان يعبد آباؤنا فأتونا بسلطان مبين قَالَتْ رُسُلُهُمْ أَفِي اللّهِ شَكٌّ فَاطِرِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِيَغْفِرَ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرَكُمْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَـمًّى قَالُواْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَصُدُّونَا عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَآؤُنَا فَأْتُونَا بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان کے پیغمبروں نے کہا: کیا اللہ کے بارے میں شک ہے جو آسمانوں اور زمین کا پیدا فرمانے والا ہے، (جو) تمہیں بلاتا ہے کہ تمہارے گناہوں کو تمہاری خاطر بخش دے اور (تمہاری نافرمانیوں کے باوجود) تمہیں ایک مقرر میعاد تک مہلت دیئے رکھتا ہے۔ وہ (کافر) بو لے: تم تو صرف ہمارے جیسے بشر ہی ہو، تم یہ چاہتے ہو کہ ہمیں ان (بتوں) سے روک دو جن کی پرستش ہمارے باپ دادا کیا کرتے تھے، سو تم ہمارے پاس کوئی روشن دلیل لاؤ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority."

[14:11] | Qalat lahum rusuluhum in nahnuilla basharun mithlukum walakinna Allahayamunnu AAala man yashao min AAibadihi wamakana lana an na/tiyakum bisultanin illabi-ithni Allahi waAAala Allahifalyatawakkali almu/minoona | قالت لهم رسلهم إن نحن إلا بشر مثلكم ولكن الله يمن على من يشاء من عباده وما كان لنا أن نأتيكم بسلطان إلا بإذن الله وعلى الله فليتوكل المؤمنون قَالَتْ لَهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ إِن نَّحْنُ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ وَلَـكِنَّ اللّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَى مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا أَن نَّأْتِيَكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَعلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان کے رسولوں نے ان سے کہا: اگرچہ ہم (نفسِ بشریت میں) تمہاری طرح انسان ہی ہیں لیکن (اس فرق پر بھی غور کرو کہ) اللہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جس پر چاہتا ہے احسان فرماتا ہے (پھر برابری کیسی؟)، اور (رہ گئی روشن دلیل کی بات) یہ ہمارا کام نہیں کہ ہم اللہ کے حکم کے بغیر تمہارے پاس کوئی دلیل لے آئیں، اور اللہ ہی پر مومنوں کو بھروسہ کرنا چاہئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Their messengers said to them: "True, we are human like yourselves, but Allah doth grant His grace to such of his servants as He pleases. It is not for us to bring you an authority except as Allah permits. And on Allah let all men of faith put their trust.

| 15. [14:14] | Walanuskinannakumu al-arda minbaAAdihim thalika liman khafa maqamee wakhafawaAAeedi | ولنسكننكم الأرض من بعدهم ذلك لمن خاف مقامي وخاف وعيد وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّـكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامِي وَخَافَ وَعِيدِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان کے بعد ہم تمہیں ضرور (اسی) ملک میں آباد فرمائیں گے۔ یہ (وعدہ) ہر اس شخص کے لئے ہے جو میرے حضور کھڑا ہونے سے ڈرا اور میرے وعدۂ (عذاب) سے خائف ہوا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "And verily We shall cause you to abide in the land, and succeed them. This for such as fear the Time when they shall stand before My tribunal,- such as fear the punishment denounced."

| 16. [14:15] | Waistaftahoo wakhabakullu jabbarin AAaneedin | واستفتحوا وخاب كل جبار عنيد وَاسْتَفْتَحُواْ وَخَابَ كُلُّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (بالآخر) رسولوں نے (اللہ سے) فتح مانگی اور ہر سرکش ضدی نامراد ہوگیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But they sought victory and decision (there and then), and frustration was the lot of every powerful obstinate transgressor.

| Words | |واستفتحوا - And they sought victory| وخاب - and disappointed| كل - every| جبار - tyrant| عنيد - obstinate.| | ||||||
| 17. [14:16] | Min wara-ihi jahannamu wayusqamin ma-in sadeedin | من ورائه جهنم ويسقى من ماء صديد مِّن وَرَآئِهِ جَهَنَّمُ وَيُسْقَى مِن مَّاءٍ صَدِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس (بربادی) کے پیچھے (پھر) جہنم ہے اور اسے پیپ کا پانی پلایا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In front of such a one is Hell, and he is given, for drink, boiling fetid water.

[14:17] | YatajarraAAuhu wala yakaduyuseeghuhu waya/teehi almawtu min kulli makanin wamahuwa bimayyitin wamin wara-ihi AAathabun ghaleethun | يتجرعه ولا يكاد يسيغه ويأتيه الموت من كل مكان وما هو بميت ومن ورائه عذاب غليظ يَتَجَرَّعُهُ وَلاَ يَكَادُ يُسِيغُهُ وَيَأْتِيهِ الْمَوْتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ وَمِن وَرَآئِهِ عَذَابٌ غَلِيظٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جسے وہ بمشکل ایک ایک گھونٹ پیئے گا اور اسے حلق سے نیچے اتار نہ سکے گا، اور اسے ہر طرف سے موت آگھیرے گی اور وہ مر (بھی) نہ سے گا، اور (پھر) اس کے پیچھے (ایک اور) بڑا ہی سخت عذاب ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In gulps will he sip it, but never will he be near swallowing it down his throat: death will come to him from every quarter, yet will he not die: and in front of him will be a chastisement unrelenting.

[14:18] | Mathalu allatheena kafaroo birabbihimaAAmaluhum karamadin ishtaddat bihi alrreehufee yawmin AAasifin la yaqdiroona mimmakasaboo AAala shay-in thalika huwa alddalalualbaAAeedu | مثل الذين كفروا بربهم أعمالهم كرماد اشتدت به الريح في يوم عاصف لا يقدرون مما كسبوا على شيء ذلك هو الضلال البعيد مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَرَمَادٍ اشْتَدَّتْ بِهِ الرِّيحُ فِي يَوْمٍ عَاصِفٍ لاَّ يَقْدِرُونَ مِمَّا كَسَبُواْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ ذَلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلاَلُ الْبَعِيدُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جن لوگوں نے اپنے رب سے کفر کیا ہے، ان کی مثال یہ ہے کہ ان کے اعمال (اس) راکھ کی مانند ہیں جس پر تیز آندھی کے دن سخت ہوا کا جھونکا آگیا، وہ ان (اَعمال) میں سے جو انہوں نے کمائے تھے کسی چیز پر قابو نہیں پاسکیں گے۔ یہی بہت دور کی گمراہی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The parable of those who reject their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a tempestuous day: No power have they over aught that they have earned: that is the straying far, far (from the goal).

[14:19] | Alam tara anna Allaha khalaqa alssamawatiwaal-arda bialhaqqi in yasha/ yuthhibkumwaya/ti bikhalqin jadeedin | ألم تر أن الله خلق السماوات والأرض بالحق إن يشأ يذهبكم ويأت بخلق جديد أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللّهَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے سننے والے!) کیا تو نے نہیں دیکھا کہ بیشک اللہ نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو حق (پر مبنی حکمت) کے ساتھ پیدا فرمایا۔ اگر وہ چاہے (تو) تمہیں نیست و نابود فرما دے اور (تمہاری جگہ) نئی مخلوق لے آئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Seest thou not that Allah created the heavens and the earth in Truth? If He so will, He can remove you and put (in your place) a new creation?

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہ (کام) اللہ پر (کچھ بھی) دشوار نہیں ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nor is that for Allah any great matter.

[14:23] | Waodkhila allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati jannatintajree min tahtiha al-anharu khalideenafeeha bi-ithni rabbihim tahiyyatuhum feehasalamun | وأدخل الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات جنات تجري من تحتها الأنهار خالدين فيها بإذن ربهم تحيتهم فيها سلام وَأُدْخِلَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّالِحَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ تَحِيَّتُهُمْ فِيهَا سَلاَمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے وہ جنتوں میں داخل کئے جائیں گے جن کے نیچے سے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں (وہ) ان میں اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہمیشہ رہیں گے، (ملاقات کے وقت) اس میں ان کا دعائیہ کلمہ ”سلام“ ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But those who believe and work righteousness will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow,- to dwell therein for aye with the leave of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: "Peace!"

[14:24] | Alam tara kayfa daraba Allahumathalan kalimatan tayyibatan kashajaratin tayyibatinasluha thabitun wafarAAuha fee alssama/-i | ألم تر كيف ضرب الله مثلا كلمة طيبة كشجرة طيبة أصلها ثابت وفرعها في السماء أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ ضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً كَلِمَةً طَيِّبَةً كَشَجَرةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ أَصْلُهَا ثَابِتٌ وَفَرْعُهَا فِي السَّمَاءِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا آپ نے نہیں دیکھا، اللہ نے کیسی مثال بیان فرمائی ہے کہ پاکیزہ بات اس پاکیزہ درخت کی مانند ہے جس کی جڑ (زمین میں) مضبوط ہے اور اس کی شاخیں آسمان میں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Seest thou not how Allah sets forth a parable? - A goodly word like a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the heavens,- of its Lord. So Allah sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition.

[14:21] | Wabarazoo lillahi jameeAAan faqalaaldduAAafao lillatheena istakbarooinna kunna lakum tabaAAan fahal antum mughnoonaAAanna min AAathabi Allahi min shay-in qaloolaw hadana Allahu lahadaynakum sawaonAAalayna ajaziAAna am sabarna malana min maheesin | وبرزوا لله جميعا فقال الضعفاء للذين استكبروا إنا كنا لكم تبعا فهل أنتم مغنون عنا من عذاب الله من شيء قالوا لو هدانا الله لهديناكم سواء علينا أجزعنا أم صبرنا ما لنا من محيص وَبَرَزُواْ لِلّهِ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ الضُّعَفَاءُ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُواْ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا مِنْ عَذَابِ اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ قَالُواْ لَوْ هَدَانَا اللّهُ لَهَدَيْنَاكُمْ سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَا أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (روزِ محشر) اللہ کے سامنے سب (چھوٹے بڑے) حاضر ہوں گے تو (پیروی کرنے والے) کمزور لوگ (طاقتور) متکبروں سے کہیں گے: ہم تو (عمر بھر) تمہارے تابع رہے تو کیا تم اللہ کے عذاب سے بھی ہمیں کسی قدر بچا سکتے ہو؟ وہ (اُمراء اپنے پیچھے لگنے والے غریبوں سے) کہیں گے: اگر اللہ ہمیں ہدایت کرتا تو ہم تمہیں بھی ضرور ہدایت کی راہ دکھاتے (ہم خود بھی گمراہ تھے سو تمہیں بھی گمراہ کرتے رہے)۔ ہم پر برابر ہے خواہ (آج) ہم آہ و زاری کریں یا صبر کریں ہمارے لئے کوئی راہِ فرار نہیں ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They will all be marshalled before Allah together: then will the weak say to those who were arrogant, "For us, we but followed you; can ye then avail us to all against the wrath of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape."

[14:22] | Waqala alshshaytanulamma qudiya al-amru inna Allaha waAAadakumwaAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kanaliya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum faistajabtumlee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma anabimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya inneekafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna alththalimeenalahum AAathabun aleemun | وقال الشيطان لما قضي الأمر إن الله وعدكم وعد الحق ووعدتكم فأخلفتكم وما كان لي عليكم من سلطان إلا أن دعوتكم فاستجبتم لي فلا تلوموني ولوموا أنفسكم ما أنا بمصرخكم وما أنتم بمصرخي إني كفرت بما أشركتمون من قبل إن الظالمين لهم عذاب أليم وَقَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلاَّ أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي فَلاَ تَلُومُونِي وَلُومُواْ أَنفُسَكُم مَّا أَنَاْ بِمُصْرِخِكُمْ وَمَا أَنتُمْ بِمُصْرِخِيَّ إِنِّي كَفَرْتُ بِمَآ أَشْرَكْتُمُونِ مِن قَبْلُ إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور شیطان کہے گا جبکہ فیصلہ ہو چکے گا کہ بیشک اللہ نے تم سے سچا وعدہ کیا تھا اور میں نے (بھی) تم سے وعدہ کیا تھا، سو میں نے تم سے وعدہ خلافی کی ہے، اور مجھے (دنیا میں) تم پر کسی قسم کا زور نہیں تھا سوائے اس کے کہ میں نے تمہیں (باطل کی طرف) بلایا سو تم نے (اپنے مفاد کی خاطر) میری دعوت قبول کی، اب تم مجھے ملامت نہ کرو بلکہ (خود) اپنے آپ کو ملامت کرو۔ نہ میں (آج) تمہاری فریاد رسی کرسکتا ہوں اور نہ تم میری فریاد رسی کر سکتے ہو۔ اس سے پہلے جو تم مجھے (اللہ کا) شریک ٹھہراتے رہے ہو بیشک میں (آج) اس سے انکار کرتا ہوں۔ یقیناً ظالموں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Satan will say when the matter is decided: "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."

| Words | |وقال - And will say| الشيطان - the Shaitaan,| لما - when| قضي - has been decided| الأمر - the matter,| إن - "Indeed,| الله - Allah| وعدكم - promised you| وعد - a promise| الحق - (of) truth.| ووعدتكم - And I promised you,| فأخلفتكم - but I betrayed you.| وما - But not| كان - I had| لي - I had| عليكم - over you| من - any| سلطان - authority| إلا - except| أن - that| دعوتكم - I invited you,| فاستجبتم - and you responded| لي - to me.| فلا - So (do) not| تلوموني - blame me,| ولوموا - but blame| أنفسكم - yourselves.| ما - Not| أنا - (can) I| بمصرخكم - (be) your helper| وما - and not| أنتم - you (can)| بمصرخي - (be) my helper.| إني - Indeed, I| كفرت - deny| بما - [of what]| أشركتمون - your association of me (with Allah)| من - before.| قبل - before.| إن - Indeed,| الظالمين - the wrongdoers,| لهم - for them| عذاب - (is) a punishment| أليم - painful."| | ||||||

[14:25] | Tu/tee okulaha kulla heeninbi-ithni rabbiha wayadribu Allahual-amthala lilnnasi laAAallahum yatathakkaroona | تؤتي أكلها كل حين بإذن ربها ويضرب الله الأمثال للناس لعلهم يتذكرون تُؤْتِي أُكُلَهَا كُلَّ حِينٍ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهَا وَيَضْرِبُ اللّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ (درخت) اپنے رب کے حکم سے ہر وقت پھل دے رہا ہے، اور اللہ لوگوں کے لئے مثالیں بیان فرماتا ہے تاکہ وہ نصیحت حاصل کریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It brings forth its fruit at all times, by the leave of its Lord. So Allah sets forth parables for men, in order that they may receive admonition.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ناپاک بات کی مثال اس ناپاک درخت کی سی ہے جسے زمین کے اوپر ہی سے اکھاڑ لیا جائے، اسے ذرا بھی قرار (و بقا) نہ ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the parable of an evil Word is that of an evil tree: It is torn up by the root from the surface of the earth: it has no stability.

| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا آپ نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جنہوں نے اللہ کی نعمتِ (ایمان) کو کفر سے بدل ڈالا اور انہوں نے اپنی قوم کو تباہی کے گھر میں اتار دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Hast thou not turned thy vision to those who have changed the favour of Allah. Into blasphemy and caused their people to descend to the House of Perdition?-

[14:27] | Yuthabbitu Allahu allatheena amanoobialqawli alththabiti fee alhayatialddunya wafee al-akhirati wayudilluAllahu alththalimeenawayafAAalu Allahu ma yasha/o | يثبت الله الذين آمنوا بالقول الثابت في الحياة الدنيا وفي الآخرة ويضل الله الظالمين ويفعل الله ما يشاء يُثَبِّتُ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ بِالْقَوْلِ الثَّابِتِ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ وَيُضِلُّ اللّهُ الظَّالِمِينَ وَيَفْعَلُ اللّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اللہ ایمان والوں کو (اس) مضبوط بات (کی برکت) سے دنیوی زندگی میں بھی ثابت قدم رکھتا ہے اور آخرت میں (بھی)۔ اور اللہ ظالموں کو گمراہ ٹھہرا دیتا ہے۔ اور اللہ جو چاہتا ہے کر ڈالتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah will establish in strength those who believe, with the word that stands firm, in this world and in the Hereafter; but Allah will leave, to stray, those who do wrong: Allah doeth what He willeth.

| 30. [14:30] | WajaAAaloo lillahi andadanliyudilloo AAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAAoo fa-inna maseerakumila alnnari | وجعلوا لله أندادا ليضلوا عن سبيله قل تمتعوا فإن مصيركم إلى النار وَجَعَلُواْ لِلّهِ أَندَادًا لِّيُضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِهِ قُلْ تَمَتَّعُواْ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمْ إِلَى النَّارِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انہوں نے اللہ کے لئے شریک بنا ڈالے تاکہ وہ (لوگوں کو) اس کی راہ سے بہکائیں۔ فرما دیجئے: تم (چند روزہ) فائدہ اٹھا لو بیشک تمہارا انجام آگ ہی کی طرف (جانا) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they set up (idols) as equal to Allah, to mislead (men) from the Path! Say: "Enjoy (your brief power)! But verily ye are making straightway for Hell!"
